WP:GO
The bot keeps adding duplicate entries to the the WP:GO page, like , 2 or 3. Could you do something about it? Regards, Armbrust The Homunculus 09:56, 20 March 2026 (UTC)
- Caused by the coordinator adding to the page instead of letting the Bot do it. Added instructions to the next release to not add the link if it is already there. Hawkeye7 (discuss) 02:28, 21 March 2026 (UTC)
- Thank you. Armbrust The Homunculus 08:36, 21 March 2026 (UTC)
Japan Cup?
Could you take a look at Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/Japan Cup/archive1? In this edit, FACBot deleted a bunch of text that it shouldn't have. RoySmith (talk) 12:37, 21 March 2026 (UTC)
Prefix bug
When removing articles from the Good Article lists because they're now a FA, the bot also removed other articles that start with the same title. For example it removed "Black holes in fiction" in Special:Diff/1352635947 when intending to remove "Black hole". * Pppery * it has begun... 05:53, 14 May 2026 (UTC)
Wikipedia:Featured list candidates/Figure skating at the 2022 Winter Olympics – Qualification/archive1
FYI: FACBot did not promote this Wikipedia:Featured list candidates/Figure skating at the 2022 Winter Olympics – Qualification/archive1 today with all of the others. Bgsu98 (Talk) 01:18, 23 June 2026 (UTC)
- It seems to have worked through overnight. Bgsu98 (Talk) 14:26, 23 June 2026 (UTC)
- There was an issue which the Bot reported and I corrected. A new version of the Featured List job was released yesterday. Great work on this one. Hawkeye7 (discuss) 22:27, 23 June 2026 (UTC)
- Hawkeye7: Did it have something to do with being a GA before being promoted to FL? Bgsu98 (Talk) 22:32, 23 June 2026 (UTC)
- Yes. It has to remove the article from the GA list. But the link is inside a template, so it has access the template in order to remove the line. The Bot could find the link but not the line, so it asked me for additional instructions. This was done, and the nomination was processed. It must have been a while since there was a list that was a GA. Hawkeye7 (discuss) 22:44, 23 June 2026 (UTC)
- Hawkeye7: I appreciate you fixing it for me. I don't think the line between Article and List is as cut-and-dried as some people make it out to be. Pure lists – lists with no prose – will never become Featured Lists, and I think that's what's meant by the caveat on GA that says no lists. But many list have some prose, and articles can't become Featured Lists without prose. The very first article I submitted to FLC, the biggest issue raised was that it needed more prose. So lists with a decent amount of prose can become Featured Lists, and also Good Articles. Conversely, articles that are mostly prose, but might have some lists, can become Featured Article and Good Articles. So, I have probably a dozen+ GAs that will eventually go to FLC, except I'm limited there to two at a time, and the turnaround time is usually a month, so it just makes for slow processing, while GA has no such limits. Plus it's good to get feedback prior to going to FLC. Bgsu98 (Talk) 23:16, 23 June 2026 (UTC)
- I have had this problem. The class the stars fell on was rated as a featured list but Mercury Seven was not. Hawkeye7 (discuss) 01:44, 24 June 2026 (UTC)
- @Bgsu98: A more interesting case in when a GA fails to get promoted to FL, because there is no FFLC/GA status. Hawkeye7 (discuss) 00:55, 6 July 2026 (UTC)
- Has that happened? Bgsu98 (Talk) 00:59, 6 July 2026 (UTC)
- Wait. It just happened! That list of governors, right? When the editor found out it wouldn't qualify for FLC because it didn't meet the minimum number of items, I told him I would do the GA review for him instead, and the GA was processed before the FLC was archived. Oops, first time for everything, I suppose. 😂 Bgsu98 (Talk) 01:03, 6 July 2026 (UTC)
