I'm a 20th Century military historian based in Canberra, Australia. I make occasional changes to pages related to military history, particularly related to the Second World War. I have also been involved with improving articles related to the history of the Paralympics. Since 2012 I have been a Wikipedian in Residence with Paralympics Australia.

	13 March 624 -The Battle of Badr, the first major battle between the Muslims and Quraysh. 1323 - Siege of Warangal: Sultan Ghiyath al-Din Tughluq sends an expeditionary army led by his son, Muhammad bin Tughluq, to the Kakatiya capital Warangal – after ruler Prataparudra has refused to make tribute payments. He besieges the city and finally, after a campaign of 8 months, Prataparudra surrenders on 9 November. 1567 - The Battle of Oosterweel, traditionally regarded as the start of the Eighty Years' War 1591 - At the Battle of Tondibi in Mali, Moroccan forces of the Saadi dynasty, led by Judar Pasha, defeat the Songhai Empire, despite being outnumbered by at least five to one. 1884 - The siege of Khartoum, Sudan, begins (ends on 26 January 1885). 1900 - Boer War: British forces occupy Bloemfontein, Orange Free State. 1943 - World War II: On Bougainville, Japanese troops end their assault on American forces at Hill 700.
