Notice of discretionary sanctions on caste and related articles
| This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.
You have shown interest in South Asian social groups. Due to past disruption in this topic area, the community has authorised uninvolved administrators to impose contentious topics restrictions—such as editing restrictions, bans, or blocks—on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, expected standards of behaviour, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic. For additional information, please see the guidance on these sanctions. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor. |

March 2025
Hi Hamir samanta! I noticed that you recently made an edit at Tamluk Royal Family and marked it as "minor", but it may not have been. "Minor edit" has a specific definition on Wikipedia: it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Thank you. Ekdalian (talk) 13:57, 21 March 2025 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, articles should not be moved, as you did to Midnapore Raj, without good reason. They should have a name that is both accurate and intuitive. Wikipedia has some guidelines in place to help with this. Generally, a page should only be moved to a new title if the current name does not follow these guidelines. Also, if a page move is being discussed, consensus needs to be reached before anybody moves the page. If you would like to experiment with page titles and moving, please use the test Wikipedia. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Bongan® →TalkToMe← 15:41, 6 October 2025 (UTC)

Removal of content on Bhadra dynasty
Hello Hamir samanta, could you please explain your removal of cited content here? Alivardi (talk) 15:20, 26 December 2025 (UTC)

- please clarify exactly where caste is mentioned in those sources. I have reviewed them and could not find any explicit reference to caste. Hamir samanta (talk) 17:05, 26 December 2025 (UTC)

Alivardi (talk) 18:23, 26 December 2025 (UTC)Bhadra dynasty It may be derived from the Chinese account that a line of Brähmana kings ruled in Samatata in the first half of the seventh century A. D. Hiuen-tsäng informs us that Šilabhadra, the patriarch of Nālandā Mahāvihāra, was a scion of this royal family.* The name ending 'Bhadra' may be considered to suggest the connection of the dynasty with Sāmanta Nārāyanabhadra referred to in the Wappaghosavata grant ” of the time of Jayanāga and the vassal chief named Jyeshthabhadra mentioned in the Nidhanpur copper-plate” of Bhāskaravarman, although it is difficult to establish the fact beyond dispute. An indirect reference to the Bhadra dynasty may be traced in the Khalimpur copper-plate inscription" of Dharmapāla, in which Deddadevi, the wife of Gopāla is described as bhadrātmajã, meaning “the daughter of a Bhadra king”.
