Hello, I would like to ask you where you found the municipality data for the 1828 Rhode Island Election? And, is there information for other Rhode Island Presidential Elections (Municipalities) Post 1828 and Pre 1880? I found the 1828 data from https://votearchive.com/us-pres-elect-1828-ri/ which is sourced from https://books.google.com/books?id=ICxcAAAAcAAJ&pg=PA8#v=onepage&q&f=false

I haven't found municipality data post 1828 and pre 1880 yet, but if/when I do, I will definitely add those maps to Wikipedia HistoricalRonan (talk) 12:20, 16 March 2026 (UTC)

Actually, before I go, I found something today so I can hook you up. While unsuccessfully looking for 1876, I stumbled into the 1852 results if you can believe it. So i'll put it here if you want to make a map out of it! You could be the first person to ever make a Rhode Island municipality map for an election with a Whig Candidate. The link is below, and includes the 1852 Rhode Island Governor Election as well.

In addition, the source you used for the 1828 election? Theres another Politician's Manual for 1832 which also has a few governor elections, same with the 1828 one. But overall that's all. Hi @HistoricalRonan, I've just had a quick look, and I think some better sourcing is needed still. Wikipedia itself is unable to be cited (WP:RSPWP). I'm also not familiar enough with Tornado Archive as to their reliability, but I see they've got a source link which you may be able to cite instead? nil ^nz 03:35, 13 April 2026 (UTC)

I added the source they used for the data for those four tornadoes, which is only from one database: Thomas P. Grazulis: Significant Tornadoes 1880-1950 and Significant Tornadoes 1680-1991. So the reference list looks like it's duplicated, but it's just that all 4 of the tornadoes' data comes from a single source. I also removed the claims that come from the Wikipedia tidbit about the outbreak HistoricalRonan (talk) 04:00, 13 April 2026 (UTC)

Another thing I forgot to mention is that Grazulis used additional sources for the data in his book, which probably makes his book even more reliable HistoricalRonan (talk) 04:14, 13 April 2026 (UTC)

I am not an expert in complicated copyright questions on Wikipedia, but it looks like you could have used the newer Jefferson Nickel image in Thomas Jefferson, if you made the necessary modifications to its metadata.

Take a look at File:US_Nickel_Obverse.jpeg. There are three sections titled "Media data and Non-free use rationale", one for each Wikipedia article that uses that image. The three articles are: Jefferson nickel, Coins of the United States dollar, and Nickel (United States coin). It looks like you could just copy one of those sections for Thomas Jefferson. I have noticed your contributions to pages related to early American politics particularly your redesign of the maps used for 1788–89 and 1792 that use tan instead of green I personally appreciate this change. I have also noticed that you are able to use Inkscape to create SVG file and ask that you use this to recreate this map with Inkscape. I created it to represent the vice presidential vote for 1788–89 along with another map for 1792 back in October of last year but I didn't (and still don't) have access to Inkscape so instead I had to use a different SVG editor that causes the maps to look different in many ways to other US election maps and make them not upload properly in other SVG software. later I learned how to edit the text of SVG file directly and used it to fix the 1792 map but I was not able to fix the 1788–89 map due to how much more complicated that election map is so ask. make sure to upload a new version of the image instead of a new file (you may need to ask for permission to do this).
