Best, Barkeep49 (talk) 18:16, 15 January 2019 (UTC)Proposed deletion of New Plymouth Heritage List

The article New Plymouth Heritage List has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
WP:SYNTH - not really notable on its own, have any secondary sources specifically talked about the New Plymouth Heritage List?
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Your signature and linter errors
Just a reminder that your signature contains obsolete font tags. They create Linter errors, and it is advised that you change your signature to [[User:itineris55|<span style="color:navy;">'''''itineris'''''</span>]][[User_Talk:itineris55|<small style="color:dimgray ">'''55'''</small>]] ASAP.
The purpose of this message is because Linter errors affect the way the page looks, and with a lot of errors, the page may render badly. To reduce Linter errors, please change your signature.
If the software doesn't accept my replacement signature, let me know, and if that's the case, unfortunately you may have to change it to something else. Sheep (talk) 02:45, 16 November 2022 (UTC)

Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously, and persistent violators of our copyright policy will be blocked from editing. See Wikipedia:Copying text from other sources for more information. There were a couple of sentences nearly word-for-word identical with the Heritage New Zealand source. Probably not intentional; please be more careful with writing content in your own words. Pākehā
I notice you changing Pākehā in many articles to {{lang|mi|Pākehā}}. While the word originated in the Māori language, it is now part of New Zealand English. For example, it appears in Heinemann New Zealand dictionary (1979) and in Oxford Dictionary of New Zealand (1997). The latter says it has been used in English since c.1850. These dictionaries do not use macrons, but macrons have become common in New Zealand English words of Māori origin over the last couple of decades. I'm not aware of any more recently published New Zealand English dictionaries. The articles in which Pākehā appears are almost all tagged as using New Zealand English. I think therefore you should not be tagging them as Māori language, unless you also think words such as café should be tagged as {{lang|fr|café}}.-Gadfium (talk) 03:30, 15 March 2025 (UTC)
- I understand that, as per MOS:NON-ENG, we do not tag with lang the words that appear in multiple major English dictionaries, not italicised. Anyway, I will not change anymore the Pākehā word if it's already a loanword in English. Thank you for letting me know. --itineris55 03:49, 15 March 2025 (UTC)

Hi Itineris55. Thank you for your work on King Building, New Plymouth. Another editor, Nil NZ, has reviewed it as part of new pages patrol and left the following comment:
Excellent work! I've greatly enjoyed seeing these new articles of familiar sites from my childhood pop up. I have added a citation needed tag, as terms like "grand entranceway" and "excellent ventilation" should be attributed to a reliable source, as they're non-neutral descriptors, and I couldn't see them mentioned in the nearest cited source.
