Decline reason:
This unblock request has been declined due to your history of vandalism and/or disruption to this encyclopedia. However, we are willing to give you another chance provided that you can earn back the trust of the Wikipedia community. To be unblocked you need to demonstrate that you are willing and able to contribute positively to Wikipedia. You can do this by:
- Familiarizing yourself with our basic rules.
- Read our guide to improving articles
- Pick any pre-existing article you wish to improve.
- If you have trouble choosing an article to improve, see this index of articles needing improvement for ideas. Once you have decided on the article you will propose improvements to:
- Click the Edit tab at the top of that article;
- Copy the portion of the prose from that article that you will be proposing changes to. However:
- do not copy the "infobox" from the start of the article (i.e., markup like this:
...); - do not copy any image placement code (i.e., markup like this:
); - do not copy the page's categories from the bottom of the page (i.e., markup like this:
); - do not copy the stub tag (if there) from the bottom of the page (i.e., markup like this:
Foo stub);
- do not copy the "infobox" from the start of the article (i.e., markup like this:
- Click edit at your talk page, and paste at the bottom under a new section header (like this:
== Article title ==) the copied content but do not save yet; - Place your cursor in the edit summary box and paste there an edit summary in the following form which specifies the name of the article you copied from and links to it (this is required for mandatory copyright attribution): "
Copied content from exact Name of Article; see that article's history for attribution." - You can now save the page. However, if your edits will include citations to reliable sources (which they should), add the following template to the end of your prose:
reflist-talk. Once you have added the template, click Publish changes.
- Now, edit that content. Propose significant and well researched improvements by editing the selected portion of the article. Please note that we are not looking for basic typo corrections, or small unreferenced additions; your edits should be substantial, and reflect relevant policies.
- When you are done with your work, re-request unblocking and an administrator will review your proposed edits.
- If we (including the original blocking admin) are convinced that your proposed edits will improve Wikipedia as an encyclopedia, you will be unblocked.
If you need help while working with your proposed edits, you may add "" to your talk page. Thank you. 331dot (talk) 10:17, 23 March 2019 (UTC)your question here ~~~~

@Materialscientist:I'm a newbie.I registered and then put my tel number on my personal page and then I am blocked by an administrator. I have known that it's advertising.I'll never do this. I have submitted an unblock request yesterday, but it's declined by an administrator. He said I need to do more constructive contributions to English Wikipedia. But I'm not an Englishman.I'm a Chinese.I only know a little English and I can only fix typo in English Wikipedia. Please unblock me.Though I can't make very big constructive contributions in English Wikipedia now,but I will contribute little by little. And I won't do anything harmful to Wikipedia,so the blocking to me is no longer needed. Thanks! You were provided a path forward to being unblocked. If you lack sufficient competence to follow that, we will not lift the block. That's okay, I certainly don't have sufficient competence in any other language to contribute on those Wikipedia projects. Perhaps you would be happiest contributing only on the Wikipedia project for your own native language. If you change your mind and believe you can be productive here on the English Wikipedia project, follow the instructions you've already been given. Yamla (talk) 13:44, 24 March 2019 (UTC)

@331dot:I followed the administrator's instruction to contribute to a Wikipedia page about a game called City Building (series). Wikipedia says it's not like an encyclopedia, and if anyone would help remove some unnecessary contents about how to play it,it will be better. I have make some edits to a part of this article. It is on my talk page. Please check it.And if I can be unblocked, please unblock me.Thank you. Best Regards Kermitmailbox99 (talk) 12:42, 25 March 2019 (UTC)

You did not follow the instructions. Your changes weren't cited at all. Remember, you were told your additions should include citations to reliable sources, but you forgot to do that. Yamla (talk) 13:28, 25 March 2019 (UTC)

Please post another edit that you'd make, this time cited to better sources. It doesn't have to be a major rewrite of an article; just show us that you understand how to contribute and that you can communicate in passable English. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 15:19, 12 April 2019 (UTC)

I have edited Founder Group and added a piece of news of it. I also added a reference. Please unblock me if you think my edit is proper. thank you! The change of the article I edited is published below in my talk page. Kermitmailbox99 (talk) 10:00, 6 May 2020 (UTC)
Decline reason:
You copied-and-pasted the content of Founder Group to your talkpage in this edit with no attribution, making it a copyright violation. You made no further changes to this page after doing so except to add this unblock appeal. Yunshui 雲水 10:09, 6 May 2020 (UTC)

- @Yunshui:I have added "In 2020, Founder Group was filed for bankruptcy reorganization by Bank of Beijing." and its references in it, in the first paragraph, which is not exist in the original article. Maybe you didn't notice it. Please check it again. Thank you! Kermitmailbox99 (talk) 10:13, 6 May 2020 (UTC)
- You are right; since you had not followed the instructions to allow an assessment of your changes, I did indeed miss that small addition. The source will need to be checked by someone who can read Chinese; it appears to be an opinion piece by a non-staff writer, but I don't understand enough of the language to be able to assess its suitability as a source. Yunshui 雲水 10:22, 6 May 2020 (UTC)
- So someone else will check it? Kermitmailbox99 (talk) 10:30, 6 May 2020 (UTC)
- (edit conflict) Yunshui, it doesn't appear to be too unsuitable as a source. Doesn't seem like an opinion piece, more like some legitimate mainstream news by Tencent. As a source, it's not perfect but not a bad attempt either. Is a better source possible, one by a bit more credible news? (like Global Times 環球時報) If not, using this as a source is definitely an indication of GF but for credibility, it seems to be on the borderline. - The disclaimer at the bottom seems to indicate that it's user-submitted, but that might be a mistranslation; I can't really assess non-English sources. There's also the matter of the copyright violation and the paucity of the change made ( Please note that we are not looking for basic typo corrections, or small unreferenced additions; your edits should be substantial, and reflect relevant policies.), but if another administrator wants to unblock, I won't argue. Yunshui 雲水 10:38, 6 May 2020 (UTC)
- Yunshui, you're referring to this disclaimer: "免责声明:本文来自腾讯新闻客户端自媒体,不代表腾讯网的观点和立场。"? Oh yeah I missed it. Appears that it is user-submitted; some Chinese blog post commented that they posted "misinformation" and "harmed people". Hence it isn't 100% suitable as a source for such a claim. But as I said, the inclusion of a source seems to be an indication of GF. Eumat114 formerly TLOM (Message) 10:43, 6 May 2020 (UTC)
- I added one more source so the citiation would be more reliable. Kermitmailbox99 (talk) 11:11, 6 May 2020 (UTC)
- Kermitmailbox99 and Yunshui: Much better now, as the source is no longer a user submission, but is a legit news report, at least from what I've found. But the previous source can be removed. Eumat114 formerly TLOM (Message) 11:48, 6 May 2020 (UTC)

- Kermitmailbox99, just a tip. Yunshui said that “we are not looking for basic typo corrections, or small unreferenced additions; your edits should be substantial, and reflect relevant policies”. In this case a new draft would be better than just this new piece of info. Looking forward to your new article creation! Eumat114 formerly TLOM (Message) 13:16, 6 May 2020 (UTC)
Kermitmailbox99, I am not an admin, just some passerby who came across a request to look at a Chinese source. The one you need to contact is Yunshui? Eumat114 formerly TLOM(Message) 12:56, 6 May 2020 (UTC) (reply)
- @Eumat114:OK. Thanks. Kermitmailbox99 (talk) 13:03, 6 May 2020 (UTC)
- I've said my piece on this one; I cannot assess the source myself and therefore cannot make an informed decision on whether it shows that you understand Wikipedia's sourcing requirements. Even if it does, I still think that the inability to follow clear instructions and the minor nature of the edit, to say nothing of the copyright violation, are causes for concern. I have, however, stated that any other admin is free to unblock, so you may file a new unblock appeal if you wish to have your block reviewed again. Yunshui 雲水 13:17, 6 May 2020 (UTC)
