Removal of 1 entry
Dear Khiikiat, Yesterday I added one person on the list of polyglots. Due to lack of support by source it as been removed from the list. As reference I used the website of the actor. I could add another reference from imdb.com. Would this be enough? Thank you very much in advance! BR, Alex Alex86B (talk) 08:15, 24 January 2025 (UTC)
- @Alex86B: The article states:
This is a list of notable people with a knowledge of six or more languages.
The source you cited states that Caroit speaks five languages: French, English, Spanish, Italian, and German. There is no mention of Portuguese. IMDb cannot be used as a source. See WP:IMDB. Khiikiat (talk) 09:54, 24 January 2025 (UTC)
Buddhist temple article titles
A belated thanks for reworking the list and starting missing temple articles. I'm thinking though that the royal temple name suffixes are not usually found in general usage, especially in English, so it should be better to omit them from article titles, i.e. Wat Phra Borommathat Chaiya Ratchaworawihan should just be Wat Phra Borommathat Chaiya, etc. --Paul_012 (talk) 17:42, 16 February 2025 (UTC)
- Hello. Yes, you are right. I have moved Wat Phra Borommathat Chaiya Ratchaworawihan, Wat Senasanaram Ratchaworawihan, and Wat Suwan Dararam Ratchaworawihan, but I am not sure what to do about Wat Phra Si Rattana Mahathat Ratchaworawihan because there is another Wat Phra Si Rattana Mahathat in Phitsanulok. Should Wat Phra Si Rattana Mahathat become a disambiguation page? Khiikiat (talk) 00:32, 17 February 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks. I think for the Si Satchanalai temple, the location will probably be more recognisable as a disambiguator, i.e. Wat Phra Si Rattana Mahathat, Si Satchanalai. The Phitsanulok temple could probably be regarded as the primary topic and just stay at that title; I've added a hatnote to the disambiguation page at Wat Mahathat, where all similarly named pages should be listed. --Paul_012 (talk) 17:36, 18 February 2025 (UTC)
- @Paul 012: I’ve move Wat Phra Si Rattana Mahathat Ratchaworawihan to Wat Phra Si Rattana Mahathat, Si Satchanalai. The royal temples are currently listed twice (once in "By class" and once in "By province"). I’m not sure this is necessary. I think "By class" should be changed to "Royal temples" and "By province" should be changed to "Non-royal temples". What do you think? Khiikiat (talk) 13:11, 21 February 2025 (UTC)

Sock tags
Hello. Please, see the documentation of {{Sockpuppet}}:
In general, this template should only be applied by Administrators or Clerks as part of the Sockpuppet investigations process.
Please, avoid adding or editing any sock tags, since these are added (or intentionally not added) by clerks, admins and checkusers as part of the SPI process. Thank you. MarioGom (talk) 21:13, 8 March 2025 (UTC)
- @MarioGom: Do you know why sock tags are routinely not added to the sockpuppets of BlueDIAMOND20s? I think it is important to keep this list up to date. It makes editors aware of the scale of the problem and helps them to find diffs. In the past, I have been criticized by administrators for not including diffs. Khiikiat (talk) 10:53, 9 March 2025 (UTC)
- I'm not sure about this particular master. In some cases, LTAs look for attention, and tags is a form of attention that encourages them to edit even more. WP:DENY explains why we sometimes deny that attention. In other cases, it's just that there are so many obviously disruptive accounts that are blocked outside of SPI that nobody keeps track of them anymore. You raise a good point about diffs though. I know tags are useful for that because I use them for the same purpose. Did you find the lack of tags in this case an obstacle to find diffs? MarioGom (talk) 11:54, 9 March 2025 (UTC)

Thomas Engqvist moved to draftspace
Thanks for your contributions to Thomas Engqvist. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability and neither of the two sources here demonstrate how the subject meets notability guidelines. if there are reviews of his books in reliable sources please add them, because then he could meet WP:NAUTHOR. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.
Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit the draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Zzz plant (talk) 19:35, 5 September 2025 (UTC)

How opposed are you to the merge, if at all? Btw, I'm not convinced about the Irish-Chicago distinction since that's almost always the continuation anyway. Dayshade (talk) 15:08, 13 October 2025 (UTC)
- I am opposed to the merge. I am happy with the article as it is. Khiikiat (talk) 15:35, 13 October 2025 (UTC)
- I'm struggling to understand why you are happy with it at all, let alone its existence. I am extremely unhappy with both its current state and existence due to most of the article being a joke and the gambit being extremely bad and a worse version of the Halloween Gambit. What makes you happy with it, why do you want it to be its own article, what are the biggest reasons you think it needs its own article OTHER than a lack of a suitable merge target, and what would would need to change in a merge target to make it acceptable? I would really, really, really like this article to stop existing. Also, please explain why you don't care (ie still happy) about what I said about the Irish-Chicago distinction. I don't see any reason to treat them as different besides perhaps some flawed article once published somewhere. Dayshade (talk) 17:46, 13 October 2025 (UTC)

In re: Thomas Engqvist move to draftspace
FYI, this note was posted at the Talk page of the editor that moved this article to draftspace:
"You were indeed correct that this article is in need of further attention before being moved out of draftspace. In addition to the need for further sources, the draft needs to be further "wikified", with non-standard styles of presentation being removed/altered. For instance, there should be "List of publication" and "Reception" sections that are standard in their presentations (list or prose, respectively), and the entries/content therein should be complete, and authoritative.
This also touches on the question of Engqvist's notability—and we do indeed conclude that he is notable. However, the article is misdirected, in attempting to place him first as a chess player, and second as a chess author. He is notable, not for the first, where he is one among very many, and not notable, but rather for the second, where he is indeed notable, as his chess books have been numerous, and well-received (including beyond his native Sweden).
Hence, a bold, restructuring and redactive edit to wikify the presentation, and alter the presentation, that focuses on [Engqvist's] writing, but also removes content that is insufficiently substatiated by sources—this could make the article ready, as a stub, for the main article space. (In this longstanding editor's opinion.)"
The bottom line of this: Find an accepted, well-sourced stub article about another chess author, and make the Engqvist draft look alot like that, in terms of structure, and thoroughness of sourcing, and then the draft might be ready for the article space. Cheers.~2025-38509-63 (talk) 16:20, 11 December 2025 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of The Way of the Warrior (TV series)

The article The Way of the Warrior (TV series) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Zero sourcing found. No results on GBooks, newspapers.com gave only TV Guide listings, everything else was just reuploads, IMDb, Reddit, or Wikipedia mirrors.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion based on established criteria.
If the proposed deletion has already been carried out, you may request undeletion of the article at any time. Ten Pound Hammer • (What did I screw up now?) 16:33, 2 March 2026 (UTC)
