Conflict of interest
Hello, FAA HIMS Program. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Draft:Human Intervention Motivation Study (HIMS), you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for article subjects for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization, clients, or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the Edit Request Wizard), including links or details of reliable sources that support your suggestions;
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest § How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam § External link spamming);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicizing, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. TurboSuperA+[talk] 09:21, 5 September 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks for the notice. To clarify, I do not have any financial, professional, or personal connection to the FAA, ALPA, or the HIMS program. My interest is purely editorial. I am developing the draft using independent, reliable sources (e.g. National Academies, DOT OIG, court rulings, and mainstream reporting) with the intent of presenting a balanced, neutral article. I will also request a username change to avoid any impression of affiliation. FAA HIMS Program (talk) 09:46, 5 September 2025 (UTC)
- I am curious how you came to edit about this topic- it doesn't seem like the type of topic that someone would randomly choose to edit about. If you're not affiliated with it, why did you choose it as your username? 331dot (talk) 08:35, 6 September 2025 (UTC)
- Hi 331dot, thanks for the question. I understand the concern. I am not affiliated in any way with the FAA, ALPA, or the HIMS program. My interest in the topic comes from following aviation safety and occupational health issues more broadly, and I thought the program merited a balanced article since it is referenced in National Academies reports, DOT OIG audits, and federal case law.
- I now realize that choosing a username identical to the subject was a mistake, as it creates the wrong impression. I've already requested a rename to a neutral, personal-style username to avoid any confusion. My only intent is to contribute neutral, verifiable content based on reliable sources. I look forward to improving the draft further with balanced sourcing.

- The above exchange seems to be AI generated. Can you explain in your own words what connection you have to the HIMS program and how you came to want to edit on this topic? EducatedRedneck (talk) 02:21, 21 February 2026 (UTC)
- Hi EducatedRedneck. I'm a pilot (and have an interest in Air Traffic Control as well) -- that's how I came to the topic. There was no Wikipedia article for the HIMS program despite it being covered by the National Academies, federal courts, and Congress, so I started one. I'm not paid to edit and don't work for the FAA or ALPA. The earlier replies here were 'stiff' (I guess that's how they came across?) because I was trying to get my account unblocked and didn't want to say the wrong thing. I also responded to your Delta/United concerns on your talk page. Thank you. LumenStoneEditor (talk) 03:18, 21 February 2026 (UTC)
Your username
Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "FAA HIMS Program", may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because it implies shared use and it is promotional. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may ask for a change of username by completing the form at Special:GlobalRenameRequest, or you may simply create a new account for editing. Thank you. You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable, regardless of the username that you choose. Additionally, if your contributions to Wikipedia form all or part of work for which you are, or expect to be, paid or compensated in any way, you must disclose who is paying you to edit here. You may also read our FAQ for article subjects.
Please take a moment to either create a new account, or request a username change to this account.- To create a new account with a different username, simply log out of this account and then click here to make a new one.
- If you prefer to change the username of this account, you may do so by adding the following text to the bottom of your user talk page (this page):
{{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.
Important items to note:
- The new username that you choose must represent you as an individual person, and it must comply with Wikipedia's username policy.
- You are permitted to use a username that contains the name of a company or organization if it also identifies you individually. Examples include: "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87", but not "SEO Manager at XYZ Company".
- The new username you choose cannot already be taken and used by another account. You can search here to see if the username you'd like to choose is available. If the search returns, "There is no global account for [username]", that means it is available.
Appeals: If your username does not represent a group, organization, department, website, or other entity described above, and if you believe that this block was incorrect or made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the following text to the bottom of your user talk page (this page): {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.

Hello, I'm EducatedRedneck. An edit that you recently made to Delta Airlines seemed to be generated using a large language model (an "AI chatbot" or other application using such technology). Text produced by these applications is usually unsuitable for an encyclopedia, and may contain factually inaccurate statements, fictitious citations, or other problems. You should instead read reliable sources and then summarize those in your own words. Your edit may have been reverted. If you want to practice editing, please use your sandbox. If you think a mistake was made, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. EducatedRedneck (talk) 02:29, 21 February 2026 (UTC)
