Welcome to Wikipedia, Tampering Ides! I'm SnowyRiver28, and I've been assigned as your mentor. All new Wikipedia accounts receive a mentor chosen randomly from a list of volunteers. It just means I'm here to help with anything you need! We need to have all kinds of people working together to create an online encyclopedia, so I'm glad you're here. Over time, you will figure out what you enjoy doing the most on Wikipedia.

You might have noticed that you have access to a tutorial and suggested edits. It's recommended that you take advantage of this, as it'll make learning how to edit Wikipedia easier.

If you need assistance with anything or have any questions, click on the "Get editing help" button on the bottom right corner of your screen. This will open up a module with links to help pages and a place to ask me questions. You can also ask me questions directly on my talk page, or go here to get help from the wider community.

Information icon Hello, I'm ArachnidInner. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Lightfastness have been undone because they did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Teahouse or the Help desk. Thanks. Did I pick the wrong specific topic to link to? I was merely trying to fix a disambiguation link. Tampering Ides (talk) 23:01, 28 February 2026 (UTC)
The edit in question: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Lightfastness&diff=1340998546&oldid=1340998491 changed wikilink to redirect page Photo-oxidation, which goes to disambiguation page photooxidation, to Photooxygenation. Tampering Ides (talk) 23:08, 28 February 2026 (UTC)

Information icon Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Meyer Rubin. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. Repeated vandalism may result in the loss of editing privileges. Thank you. Again, trying to fix a disambiguation link. Tampering Ides (talk) 23:02, 28 February 2026 (UTC)
Ah, I see the issue. You didn't actually fix the links, just what they said before someone clicked them. Because of this, the edits did not seem constructive and so were therefore reverted. I don't know if you're editing source or visual, but if you are editing visually you need to make sure you click edit instead of change text. If you want I can remove the two warnings I placed. Sorry for the misunderstanding, it was an easy mistake to make. I wish you luck in any future editing and again, my apologies. (Arachnid's userpage | what did I do now) 23:08, 28 February 2026 (UTC)
Sorry typing at same time.
Thanks and no worries - I was confused. Tampering Ides (talk) 23:10, 28 February 2026 (UTC)

Introduction to contentious topics: minimum edit count and account age

You have recently edited a page related to the region of South Asia (India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal), broadly construed, including but not limited to history, politics, ethnicity, and social groups, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia's norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have an expanded level of powers and discretion in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

Additionally, you must be logged in, have 500 edits, and have an account age of 30 days in order to make edits related to two subtopics: (1) Indian military history, or (2) social groups, explicitly including caste associations and political parties related to India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal.

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures, you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

Information icon Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed that you recently added commentary to an article, Tejano Music Award for Best New Artist. While Wikipedia welcomes editors' opinions on an article and how it could be changed, these comments belong on the article's accompanying talk page. If you post your comments there, other editors working on the same article will notice and may respond to them, and your comments will not disrupt the flow of the article. However, keep in mind that even on the talk page of an article, you should limit your discussion to improving the article. Article talk pages are not the place to discuss opinions of the subject of articles, nor are such pages a forum. Thank you. tony 02:28, 13 March 2026 (UTC)

It wasn't opinion - it was a fact. The source only covers through 2023. I'm not sure why I can't post that?
Also, I'll need to go back in and put the bullets back in the works cited section so it matches the other references listed and it will show I reverted your edit if I do that. Tampering Ides (talk) 02:33, 13 March 2026 (UTC)
