With a long writing history, there is much more that could be written here about Long (hence being marked as a stub). Notability is evident through national recognition for his sustained output; reaches WP:NAUTHOR. To expand, I suggest working on his biography, and reviews of his published work.

Hi there; I've been doing a Banks Peninsula project as a WIkipedian at Large, and have been spending a day in the Akaroa Museum collections. It was a very nice surprise to find an article on John Henry Menzies already created and ready to go—thank you for doing that. I've just expanded it using a couple of publications by the Museum's collection manager, and will be adding some photos from their collection and of St Luke's in Little Akaloa. It's been expanded enough that it qualifies for Did You Know so I'll put it forward to appear on the main Wikipedia page.

Do you have much to do with Wikipedia meetups where you live, or ever join the monthly online meetup? I don't think I've seen your name. I would be happy to collaborate on other articles you might be working on.
