I have sent you a note about a page you started

Hello, Wikipedeon. Thank you for your work on Sam Riley (rugby union). Bastun, while examining this page as a part of our page curation process, had the following comments:

Hi Wikipedeon, nice work on your new article. In my opinion, it would benefit from being added to relevant Wikicategories. Additional secondary sources would also be good, and a 'photo needed' template could be added to the talk page. Good job!

Roma Zheng moved to draftspace

Thanks for your contributions to Roma Zheng. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. JTtheOG (talk) 23:11, 11 March 2024 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Henry Pollock (rugby union), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Rugby football positions. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ  Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Editing British & Irish Lions Caps on Player Articles

Hi Wikipedion,

Just wanted to message you as some of your edits on the British & Irish Lions sections of players who have been picked for two tours or more have been misleading and inaccurate, where you have altered formats and details that were already correct to begin with and did not need to be changed.

Please do not remove any of the hyperlinks to each tour and to that of the British & Irish Lions page, and do not format the years as being continuous- leave them as the years of the tours themselves, instead of being from a specific duration, i.e. 2017, 2021, 2025 instead of 2017-2025.

Thanks! Heavyhorse74 (talk) 14:00, 14 July 2025 (UTC)

Hi Heavyhorse74,
I welcome the discussion on this but I would heavily contest that any of the edits are misleading or inaccurate, can you outline how this is the case when all of the years are still correct?
In addition there are a number of examples for player pages where the formatting is consistent with 'regular' international caps. Players like Keith Wood, Alun Wyn Jones and Jonathan Davies to name a few off the top of my head all have the regular formatting so it seems weird to have this inconsistency for certain players on British & Irish Lions tours.
I'm not aware of any specific Wikipedia or rugby norm-related rules that prohibit one format from being used so I would appreciate your guidance on this. If I do not hear back I will assume it's okay to revert to my original edits
Thanks, Wikipedeon Wikipedeon (talk) 17:51, 14 July 2025 (UTC)
Hi Wikipedion,
The years are not all correct- when stating the duration of Lions caps, the convention should be and is in most cases stated as the years in which the tours took place, and not the duration between tours. There were no Lions matches taking place in the years 2018, 2019 or 2020, so to write the format as 2017-2021, or 2017- as you have in multiple instances is misleading and generally does not look as tidy and polished on the articles in question. This is also in addition to removing the hyperlinks which I went to great lengths of time to install on the articles before you removed them, which I feel was unnecessary.
The articles you've listed regarding Alun Wyn Jones, Jonathan Davies and Keith Wood were previously formatted as 2009, 2013, 2017, 2021 for Jones, 2013, 2017 for Davies and 1997, 2001 for Wood respectively. The previous formats were not correct and have since been edited to the hyperlink version. In these cases, the formatting had been left for some time without corrections, so I can see how you came to see things.
Thanks,

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Regarding your recent edits to Aaron Grandidier-Nkanang when you modified the page, you introduced unknown parameters. Just because you specify |some_param=some_variable does not always mean that variable will display. The |some_param= must be defined in the template. You can look at the documentation for the template you are using but it is also helpful to use the preview button before you save your edit; this helps you find any errors you have made and ensure that the values you have added are displaying correctly. Below the edit box is a Show preview button. Pressing this will show you what the page will look like without actually saving it. It is strongly recommended that you use this before saving. If you have any questions, contact the help desk for assistance. Thank you. Zackmann (Talk to me/What I been doing) 09:14, 24 October 2025 (UTC)
