Question about sources for hip-hop artist draft
Hello, I’m working on a draft article for a hip-hop artist currently under Articles for Creation review. The draft uses coverage from AllHipHop, Sheen Magazine, and a longer profile from The Bridge Magazine.
I’m seeking input from WikiProject Hip hop editors on whether these publications are generally considered reliable secondary sources and whether the depth of coverage would meet expectations for music biography articles.
I want to make sure the article aligns with Wikipedia sourcing standards. Thank you for any guidance. Godsentme1 (talk) 06:44, 28 January 2026 (UTC)
- I thought of asking the same thing here, including asking for other sources included in Draft:AJDaGuru, but like most Wikiprojects, this one seems to be inactive. You might have better luck at the general reliable sources noticeboard, WP:RSN.
- You could also do the tedious work of searching for experienced active members at Wikipedia:WikiProject Hip-hop/Members. I looked at a dozen or so of them, and all I found were inactive accounts that haven't edited in months or years, most of which are inexperienced with fewer than 500 edits. Some of them are also blocked. But you're being paid, so if you try, you might find some to weigh in. ~Anachronist (who / me) (talk) 06:00, 3 April 2026 (UTC)

AfC review request: Draft:DJ M-Walk
Hi all, I've submitted a draft article at Draft:DJ M-Walk for a DJ/producer who I believe meets WP:NMUSIC notability: * Credited scratches performer on Tone Lōc's Lōc-ed After Dark (1989), which reached #1 on the Billboard 200 and was certified double platinum * Released M. Walk Productions Featuring The Union on Capitol Records (1989) * Co-producer on Tone Lōc's Cool Hand Lōc (1991) * Producer and co-writer on the Pharcyde's Labcabincalifornia (1995) alongside J Dilla and Diamond D * Member of the KDAY Mixmasters (from 1985, age 16) * Named in LA Weekly and AllHipHop in coverage of KDAY history The draft has 15 inline citations from sources including Discogs, AllMusic, Metacritic, Rate Your Music, LA Weekly, AllHipHop, Okayplayer, Apple Music, and Treble. Would appreciate a review from someone familiar with golden-age West Coast hip-hop. Thanks. ~~~~ Yakiton (talk) 16:43, 3 April 2026 (UTC)
- See WP:NOLLM. We are prohibited from creating content using LLM chatbots. The draft cannot be accepted as it is, particularly because it includes effusive puffery and other assertions that are not cited to reliable sources (particularly the Legacy section). It is possible that some sources were hallucinated too, but I'm not going to investigate further because it's clear from the prose that this was AI generated.
- You cannot simply accept what an AI gives you, you must check every single thing. It would be better to start with sources that the AI finds for you and then write the article yourself, using those sources. ~Anachronist (who / me) (talk) 17:14, 3 April 2026 (UTC)
