Labour

Elections to Salford City Council were held on Thursday, 1 November 1945. One-third of the councillors seats were up for election, with each successful candidate to serve a three-year term of office. The Labour Party gained overall control of the council from the Conservative Party.[1][2] These were the first local elections held in Salford since the outbreak of the Second World War.
