Upcoming Elections for Sherpur-3

The voting for the Sherpur-3 constituency was cancelled during the 2026 General Elections, the reason behind this cancellation is because the Bangladesh Jaamat-e-Islami candidate Mohammad Nuruzzaman Badal had passed away before the voting started, Under Bangladesh’s election law (RPO), if a contesting candidate dies before polling, the election in that seat must be postponed[2]

The voting for this constituency is scheduled at April 9th, 2026, alongside Bogura-6.[3]

Boundaries

The constituency encompasses Jhenaigati and Sreebardi upazilas.[4][5]

History

The constituency was created in 1984 from the Mymensingh-6 constituency when the former Mymensingh District was split into four districts: Mymensingh, Sherpur, Netrokona, and Kishoreganj.[6]
