Not done: The war is already linked in several other places in the article, including within that same paragraph, so it should not be linked again. {{GearsDatapack|talk|contribs}} 15:28, 17 February 2026 (UTC)

Description of suggested change: Adding an extra WP:HATCONFUSE hatnote for Non-Zionism, will request distinguish hatnote on that article as well. Both terms vary wildly by meaning and it's not a commonly known distinction, adding it to the hatnote will disambiguate.

Inconsistent framing of colonialism between this article and the Zionism article
The third paragraph of the "Left-wing politics" section of this article begins with:
"Several advocacy groups that explicitly support Palestinian solidarity also oppose Zionism, viewing it as a form of colonialism."
The word "viewing" implies Zionism to only subjectively qualify as colonialism, and that this is not a factual statement, but rather an opinion held by the political faction referenced. However, the opening paragraph to the article for Zionism contradicts this, in which Zionism is framed as an objectively colonialist movement:
"Zionism is an ethnocultural nationalist movement that emerged in late 19th-century Europe to establish and support a Jewish homeland through colonization in the region of Palestine"
I think one of these articles should be changed to match the other for the sake of consistent framing. Sillyevelyn23 (talk) 04:48, 28 May 2026 (UTC)

"oppression or ethnic cleansing of Israeli Jews [...] historically rare in Western countries"
Hi, the final paragraph of the lead section contains the claim "[...] some [anti-Zionists] seek instead the oppression or ethnic cleansing of Israeli Jews, although this position was historically rare in Western countries." This was inserted, with "is" instead of "was historically", last May, and cites a Jacobin article by socialist writer Ben Burgis. While I'm inclined to believe this claim in its current form, the sourcing is weak. The citation is a polemical opinion piece published in Jacobin, and Burgis did not cite any sources for his claim that particular iterations of anti-Zionism "are relatively rare positions [in Western society]". There is certainly no source provided for the past-tensification of the claim which was made last July. Without an RS which actually documents the relative popularity of these different strains of anti-Zionism in the west, I think that the claim that anti-Jewish varieties of anti-Zionism were or are rare in the west should probably be left out altogether. Tagging @Crossroads and @Yeshu972, who inserted the claim(s) in question, and @إيان, @Bobfrombrockley, @IOHANNVSVERVS, @AlsoWukai since this would be a pretty notable change to the article. - "historically rare in Western countries" Interesting. And which party or faction in the Western world has called for the ethnic cleansing of the Israeli Jews, as opposed to the Jews in general? I have met my share of Neo-Nazis and neo-fascists over the years, and few bothered to target the Israelis specifically. My far-right brother has even turned into a Benjamin Netanyahu fanboy in recent years, under the belief that Bibi can eliminate the threat of Islamic terrorism. So instead of regular antisemitic rants, I get to hear Islamophobic rants in my household. Dimadick (talk) 18:03, 19 June 2026 (UTC)
- My edit just used the source that was already there, and made it less POV since it previously failed to mention that some anti-Zionists seek the oppression or expulsion of Israeli Jews at all - although to be fair to the source I had to mention that this is rare in Western countries, which seems plausible enough. I agree that Jacobin is a poor source and would be better replaced and that this could be readily improved. Crossroads -talk- 23:06, 19 June 2026 (UTC)
- I think the quote is quite a good one to keep somewhere in the body and the point about diversity of anti-Zionisms is important in the lead, but this source is not strong enough for the lead and it is also a little bit vague about what this ethnic cleansing means. I would support removal for now and seeking an alternative source that makes a similar point more clearly. BobFromBrockley (talk) 10:08, 20 June 2026 (UTC)
- All right, I just removed the whole clause in question. Besides the sourcing issues, I'd argue that this phenomenon does factually exist to some extent in and outside of the west, and perhaps especially outside of the west, where most anti-Zionists are located (i.e. the Arab world). Also, I put in "some" before Haredi Jews, because Haredi Jews aren't all anti-Zionist (especially considering that most of them live in Israel, where a minority are anti- and many others are non-Zionist). Let me know what you think. Theodore Christopher (talk) 19:08, 22 June 2026 (UTC)
- Strongly agree with the “some” BobFromBrockley (talk) 23:56, 23 June 2026 (UTC)

- And my edit was just grammatical, I believe. I did not drop the quote in, though I, too, am inclined to believe it. J F-T (talk) 12:56, 20 June 2026 (UTC)
