Everest and Sawtooth?

Any proof that the A17 uses these core designs? 2601:602:9000:8F40:28D1:4F62:7EDC:29D2 (talk) 05:40, 4 February 2024 (UTC)

I currently cannot see or find any reliable sources that confirm this information, therefore the information currently listed on the wiki page is speculation. 2601:602:9000:8F40:28D1:4F62:7EDC:29D2 (talk) 05:41, 4 February 2024 (UTC)

Useless link?

In the 2022 film M3GAN, the titular artificially intelligent humanoid robot character features an A17 Bionic Fusion Chip.

Source does not directly mention presence of an A17 chip, and seems to be a satire addition. Removal possible? 213.105.92.148 (talk) 09:54, 28 July 2024 (UTC)

Requested move 5 April 2026

The result of the move request was: moved. Those in favour of the move pointed out that a non-pro version of Apple A17 does not exist. These arguments are ones that would be for a natural naming of the article per WP:CRITERIA, that is The title is one that readers are likely to look or search for and that editors would naturally use to link to the article from other articles. Such a title usually conveys what the subject is actually called in English. An opposing argument was put that changing the title to Apple A17 Pro would be engaging in crystal ball gazing. That was not a convincing argument. (closed by non-admin page mover) TarnishedPathtalk 03:51, 13 April 2026 (UTC)

Apple A17Apple A17 Pro – I would've thought it'd make sense for the A17 Pro chip to be listed at Apple A17 Pro, and for a while on September 12, 2023, it was at 'Apple A17 Pro', until a user named Brandon moved it back. He provided the following edit summary:

Rename for consistency with other Category:Apple silicon article names.

I feel like it would be right for the A17 Pro chip to be listed at 'Apple A17 Pro', especially since there was no standard A17 processor. TwoGamer1000 (Edits) 19:13, 5 April 2026 (UTC)
  • Support: per nom. Since there is no A17, there is no need for consistency with articles about A16 or A18. Titling this article A17 would mislead readers that there actually is an A17 chip. Arnav Bhate (talkcontribs) 18:13, 6 April 2026 (UTC)
  • Support as the original offender. I cannot remember my rationale in 2023 and TwoGamer1000's argument is persuasive. Brandon (talk) 03:37, 7 April 2026 (UTC)
  • Oppose: It doesn't match up with the current name, and the "Apple A17 Pro" is an uncommon name, and per WP:CRYSTALBALL. ~ŤheŴubṂachine-840 23:08, 10 April 2026 (UTC)
