Chris Hansen Alleged Affair

If I remember correctly, an earlier version of this article mentioned how Chris Hansen allegedly had an extramarital affair with a TV reporter Kristyn Caddell who is decades younger than him during his first marriage. According to Fox News, Hansen was allegedly caught in a sting organized by the National Enquirer. Currently, this article does not mention that. Should that get added back in?

People magazine reported the alleged affair. Fox News reported how his alleged mistress has picture proof of the affair, which Hansen denies. The Daily Mail reported that he allegedly sent explicit photos to his alleged mistress. Flipperndipper (talk) 06:13, 19 February 2025 (UTC)

To add to this, according to Business Insider, NBC let go of Hansen two weeks after Business Insider published photos of him kissing his alleged mistress. Flipperndipper (talk) 06:13, 22 February 2025 (UTC)
To use more reliable sources, according to Time magazine, "The married Hansen was allegedly having an affair with a Florida television reporter some 20 years his junior. In 2013, the woman, who said employers would no longer hire her after news broke of her apparent relationship with Hansen, released personal photos of herself and Hansen, including one showing what appeared to be the couple locked in a kiss. A short while later, NBC announced it was not renewing Hansen’s contract." Flipperndipper (talk) 06:21, 22 February 2025 (UTC)

I went ahead and added this to the article.  Preceding unsigned comment added by Flipperndipper (talkcontribs) 06:05, 2 June 2025 (UTC)

And I just removed it from the article. We're not here to spread gossip or anything "Alleged" we're here to post the concrete! The National Enquirer is a tabloid newspaper and not a source we follow, and since Fox News allowed fraudsters like Carlson and Hannity, they're not credible either! I'm beginning to think that whoever wants this "affair" to be on the records wants to have the high school experience while they're 40 years old! Maxcardun (talk) 13:05, 11 July 2025 (UTC)
NPR published an article on Krysten Caddell (aka Kristen Hentschel), and it mentions her affair with Chris Hansen. Would that be considered a credible source by your standards? Flipperndipper (talk) 06:59, 10 August 2025 (UTC)
No it doesn't because it also mentions that it was a report by the Enquirer, the article you posted in question does not say if this report was true or not. If not the affair the article you post here is more of an example how it's more likely a woman gets fired over this kind of rumored scandal. Maxcardun (talk) 16:26, 13 August 2025 (UTC)
The NPR article also cited an interview with Caddell with Radar Online in which she admits to the affair, and she also provides photographs of them kissing and embracing each other. Would those be considered credible evidence of the affair? Flipperndipper (talk) 06:15, 14 August 2025 (UTC)
Again, You are giving me an example of photo's taken from the Enquirer, and we all know THEY don't doctor a photograph. Since the face of the two of those people kissing are obscured it's not concrete. That guy in the sunglasses should take them off so we can see his real eyes. Why does that woman go by two aliases anyways? I did some looking and apparently they say she was also paid to sabotage political campaigns. Sounds like a person who isn't credible. You got something against someone who helped to expose people you don't want around your kids? Maxcardun (talk) 14:13, 14 August 2025 (UTC)
The photos are from Radar Online, not the Enquirer. Also, some reporters use a different name than their legal name when they are on air.
"You got something against someone who helped to expose people you don't want around your kids?" This is an ad hominen attack. I do not have anything against people who expose abuse. If you look into my user contributions logs, you will see contributions to Wikipedia pages where I wrote about child sex abuse in churches. Moreover, I think adultery is unethical, a form of emotional abuse to his spouse, and should be worth mentioning in an article, especially because the affair was detrimental a reporter's career. Not the mention, the 20 year age gap between Hansen and Caddell is weird. Hansen is a veteran reporter with a lot of clout while Caddell was relatively new to the industry; there was a disproportionate power dynamic between them. The alleged affair, which most likely happened, was legal but very unethical. Flipperndipper (talk) 05:26, 15 August 2025 (UTC)
Either way, this site here is not for justice fanaticism, it is an encyclopedia that displays what is the most reliable information. This topic has been addressed before if you look at the archives for this talk page. Which go in to further reference this rule as Wikipedia is not the news.WP:NOTNEWS (talk) 16:56, 19 August 2025 (UTC)
"I did some looking and apparently they say she was also paid to sabotage political campaigns"
well, yeah, now THERE's a reliable source -- "they"!
u got a problem with fox, npr, and time magazine, but no hesitation whatsoever at spreading gossip even LESS well-sourced.
shameless. ~2026-37345-58 (talk) 20:23, 8 July 2026 (UTC)
Why does this Maxcardun person get to unilaterally decide what’s relevant? There are several newsworthy events that are missing from this entry, and they all reflect negatively on Chris Hansen. The bias is clear. ~2026-44512-33 (talk) 02:33, 14 August 2026 (UTC)

Incorrect past tense usage and incorrect date (proposed change)

The opening paragraph includes the following phrase:

"He co-founded the true crime-oriented streaming service TruBlu in 2020, for which he produced and starred in the web series Takedown with Chris Hansen."

TruBlu launched in 2022, not 2020. Furthermore, Takedown is currently airing and released new episodes just a few months ago, so it should not be referred to in the past tense.

I propose changing it to the following verbiage:

"He co-founded the true crime-oriented streaming service TruBlu in 2022, for which he produces and stars in the web series Takedown with Chris Hansen, a spiritual successor to To Catch a Predator.

Add "Category:Sexual abuse victim advocates"

Chris Hansen has been an advocate for sexual abuse victims of many occasions. This includes his recent support and collaborations with Schlep, a Roblox grooming victim. ~2025-40615-45 (talk) 22:29, 16 December 2025 (UTC)

Please can someone update the profile for Mr Hansen to show 'Colonel' as his title? I nominated him before the governor of Kentucky for services to law enforcement and he was awarded a Colonelcy (see certificate attached here sent to me) earlier this month. Scott.L.Pileckas (talk) 02:55, 31 January 2026 (UTC)

Not done: No certificate showing anything was provided. Even if it was attached, we would need a reliable source (a news report or something, not a primary source) that showed he had received a such a title. — Rtrb (talk) (contribs) 05:35, 31 January 2026 (UTC)
how do I attach it? it is an official government document you will see. patience is as virtuous as intelligence. you need only have asked. Col. S L Pileckas (talk) 05:48, 31 January 2026 (UTC)
If the document is in the public domain, it can be uploaded to the Internet Archive and linked here. There's no way to attach documents directly to Wikipedia (uploading to Wikipedia is different, see WP:UPLOAD). — Rtrb (talk) (contribs) 18:44, 31 January 2026 (UTC)

Dahvie Vanity

Chris Hansen investigated Dahvie Vanity as well as Onision and (more recently) Roblox. It's discussed on Vanity's article as well as the article about the case surrounding his most outspoken victim, whom Hansen interviewed in 2020. Please add all information relevant to Hansen to this article as well. ~2026-78989-4 (talk) 18:08, 15 February 2026 (UTC)

In the intro, infobox and Early life section, please remove his birthday but leave the birth year. The source doesn’t say as to where his birthday is listed per BLP. ~2026-43710-75 (talk) 21:53, 9 August 2026 (UTC)

Information Note: I have added the Instagram posts links to the article, where his wife wished him a happy birthday on 13 September, and he thanked everyone for the birthday wishes on 14 September.  Ivecos (t) 11:10, 26 August 2026 (UTC)
