Talk:Denmark
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This article is not about the Danish Realm! The subject of this article is metropolitan Denmark, a constituent country of the Danish Realm. It does not include Greenland and the Faroe Islands. Issues related to those countries/territories should be discussed at their own talk pages. |
| This article is written in British English, which has its own spelling conventions (colour, travelled, centre, defence, artefact, analyse) and some terms may be different or absent from other varieties of English. According to the relevant style guide, this should not be changed without broad consensus. |
| Denmark was one of the Geography and places good articles, but it has been removed from the list. There are suggestions below for improving the article to meet the good article criteria. Once these issues have been addressed, the article can be renominated. Editors may also seek a reassessment of the decision if they believe there was a mistake. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

Since 2022 Denmark also shares a small 1.2 km land border with Canada, along a natural ravine on Hans Island in the Nares Strait. Kim Depler (talk) 12:52, 21 December 2025 (UTC)
Not done: it's not clear what changes you want made. Please detail the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. This article is about metropolitan Denmark only. The border with Canada is mentioned at Danish Realm. Day Creature (talk) 17:53, 21 December 2025 (UTC)
Fukuyama quote
Is Fukuyama's quote about "getting to Denmark" due for the lead? I would understand including it within the article body, but I feel like it's a bit WP:UNDUE and too detailed to include a relatively old phrase from one political scientist in the lead, which is supposed to summarize the contents of the article body. The Account 2 (talk) 16:25, 7 January 2026 (UTC)
- I see your point and agree. It would be interesting to move it to the article body though. Straight out removal feels like a loss of relevant information. Wilk10 (talk) 16:47, 7 January 2026 (UTC)
- I agree that it contains interesting info which can be preserved, so I moved it into the article body. The Account 2 (talk) 16:50, 7 January 2026 (UTC)
Greenland
If the map of France displays French Guiana in green color as a part of France, why isn't Greenland displayed the same way as a part of Denmark? Gigman (talk) 22:22, 8 January 2026 (UTC)
- Because this page is about only a part of the Kingdom of Denmark. The latter does show Greenland shaded in green. GoodDay (talk) 22:30, 8 January 2026 (UTC)
- PS - TBH, at times I get confused with this article & the (aka Danish Realm) kingdom article GoodDay (talk) 22:34, 8 January 2026 (UTC)
