Dark mode?

Many of the photos taken in this article are in dark mode, however, this makes it very difficult to see certain things, and also the default mode is far more widely used. Jeremy Beatson (Use this button to talk to me) 03:15, 1 December 2020 (UTC)

Concur, pictures should be re-done in light mode. Ifly6 (talk) 19:12, 9 December 2020 (UTC)
Whoops, forgot to reply to this. I replaced the image in dark mode with my own image in light mode. -- Waffledogefern (talk) 20:14, 10 September 2021 (UTC)

too much detail

There is a lot of stuff in the article here which really ought to be viewed as excessive detail and trivial content. Wikipedia is not an indiscriminate collection of information. https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia:INDISCRIMINATE. In such instances, delete details that can be reasonably removed. Big long sections about what some raider or defender group did in some operation are not relevant to NationStates, for the same reasons the United Kingdom article is not padded with irrelevant cruft about what Theresa May ate for breakfast on her last day as prime minister.

A substantial number of sources are also self published. See WP:SELFPUBLISH. They should be removed. Ifly6 (talk) 19:27, 9 December 2020 (UTC)

Should we add a secton or info about the discontinued NationStates 2?

read header dude heya. this is a random post from someone who plays NationStates. Here, a link. Rc453632 My user page. Also, I did this with four tildes, or these wobblers. 03:16, 17 March 2021 (UTC)

Rare case.

I found Nazis there once. I’m not lying. Found them in ‘22. 2601:1C2:4302:3750:8C62:2F42:D475:348D (talk) 23:48, 11 February 2025 (UTC)

Addition of the 2026 Data breach ?

On 28 January 2026 the NationStates site went down due to data breach as reported by the creator Max himself. I think this should be added in the wiki as it has leaked passwords of many nation, which most people use in other places + it's the first time anything like this has ever happened in the site. SwornSundown6 (talk) 08:18, 30 January 2026 (UTC)

Something like this has happened hundreds, even thousands of times on other websites. It happening to NS is not notable. PizzaKing13 (¡Hablame!) 🍕👑 13:56, 30 January 2026 (UTC)
A whole section would be WP:TOOMUCH, however I would support a sentence in the history section. PokémonPerson 05:11, 4 February 2026 (UTC)
In the other hand, I think that only a single mention in a single sentence is a bit too little for that regard... Where do you even put that other than it's own section? DJ Baguio (talk) 16:40, 6 February 2026 (UTC)
But this kind of thing has not happened to Nationstates before. While this page may be a little bloated for what the website is, I don't see a reason not to add a mention in the history section. Mercov (talk) 14:32, 5 February 2026 (UTC)
Again, this is not notable and should not be included. PizzaKing13 (¡Hablame!) 🍕👑 14:37, 5 February 2026 (UTC)
May I ask what even justifies the doubt in the event's notability? The developers said that it's the first time the bug of the kind has ever been reported, and also the breach revealed the outdated infrastructure of the site and has them needing to do an overhaul on the site... DJ Baguio (talk) DJ Baguio (talk) 16:38, 6 February 2026 (UTC)
Also I don't know if this is backed by any Wikipedia policy or consensus; but I think that just because people were frequently adding mentions of previous smaller site shutdowns, that shouldn't be an actual basis for challengine challenging a particular event's notability to the article. I feel like you need to find a better justification for that. DJ Baguio (talk) 16:51, 6 February 2026 (UTC)
You didn't reply to my message asking you for more justifications on deeming this event not notable, but you keep deleting edits that refer to that event for some reason. If no justification is said then I will reinstate my edit by then. DJ Baguio (talk) 14:19, 7 February 2026 (UTC)
Also, may I add: the recent data breaches ahem.. site hackings (in general) of Niconico Douga and 4chan were covered since they were notable and large enough to be covered in the article. I don't see any good reason as why this particular event, which is profound in showing the lack of cybersecurity of the website, shouldn't also be covered by the article.
