Hinduism In hinduism “nothing” is discussed in great detail. It can be found in “Upanishad”. Nothing is a state in which everything exists. It doesn’t need to be born and it never dies because it doesn’t exist yet it exists. “Upanishad” describes the absolute truth of our existence and this absolute truth is “nothing”. It is also described in some other religions too. ^[1]

I feel that's unnecessary. The history of this article's vandalism isn't related enough to nothing for it to be worth mentioning. UnsungHistory also makes a good point. It's already mentioned elsewhere, so why would we need to put it here? - DoofusMcGoofus (talk) 13:44, 24 December 2024 (UTC)

In the section "Science" there is a preposition "on" that should be changed to "in". This is the sentence:

"...1803 interference experiment, seemingly confirming the need for an aether. The most well known attempt to detect the existence of the aether was the Michelson–Morley experiment conducted by Albert A. Michelson on 1881, later repeated with Edward W. Morley in 1887 with more precision. This failed to show the desired..."

This should read "...experiment conducted by Albert A. Michaelson in 1881..."

"Some writers have made connections between Heidegger's concept of nothing and the nirvana of Eastern religions."

This strikes me as a bit off - Nirvana is the cessation of the cycle of Samsara. The more appropriate concept would be Śūnyatā. The concepts in many Eastern Philosophies are cyclic, so the confusion is understandable. Just pointing this out to help. There is a lack of quotation marks in the "Philosophy" section, where it says "As everything, for him, was an article of faith, nothing, to his mind, was difficult to understand: the Great Flood had covered the entire world; before, men had the misfortune of living a thousand years; God conversed with them; Noah had taken one hundred years to build the ark; while the earth, suspended in air, stood firmly at the center of the universe that God had created out of nothingness.
