Warning: active arbitration remedies The contentious topics procedure applies to this article. This article relates to living or recently deceased subjects of biographical content on Wikipedia articles. The following restrictions apply to everyone editing this article:
Editors who repeatedly or seriously fail to adhere to the purpose of Wikipedia, any expected standards of behaviour, or any normal editorial process may be blocked or restricted by an administrator. |
1. Why was my request to change the article's title removed?
The consensus is that this person is generally referred to as "Sean Combs", not "Sean 'Diddy' Combs" or "Diddy". There is a moratorium on discussions about the title of the article until January 1, 2027. 2. Why can't this page be renamed to Diddy, P. Diddy, or Sean "Diddy" Combs?
Because Wikipedia editors have reached a consensus not to. Following a series of disruptive requested moves (RMs) by confirmed sockpuppet accounts between October 21 to December 13, 2025, a moratorium was enacted on January 1, 2026, banning all RMs for this page until January 1, 2027. |

One of his sons (King Combs) is missing from his personal life section ~2025-39660-46 (talk) 00:43, 10 December 2025 (UTC)
Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate.- King Combs is already mentioned in Family and Relationships Aston305 (complain/compliment) 01:03, 10 December 2025 (UTC)
- It is clear what changes he or she wants to make. Obviously the change is to add content relating to king combs. ~2026-17467-7 (talk) 05:14, 9 January 2026 (UTC)
- That is not the purpose of edit requests, the exact change to be made needs to be described. An edit request cannot be 'add information' Aston305 (complain/compliment) 15:59, 9 January 2026 (UTC)

50 Cent feud
Surprised there's not an article for their feud. It's been going on for years, particularly during Diddy's recent legal issues and with a new documentary produced by 50 Cent. ~2025-37349-71 (talk) 20:45, 12 December 2025 (UTC)
Legal issues mentioned in the first paragraph of lead
I feel a summarised mention of his legal issues are due for inclusion in the first paragraph of the lead, as is the case over at R. Kelly. As is also the case with R. Kelly, Combs' legal issues have been a major part of his notability in recent years. ~2025-37349-71 (talk) 20:47, 12 December 2025 (UTC)

Change infobox image from 2012

to 2023

The 2023 image is more recent and clearer than the 2012 image. ~2025-40148-12 (talk) 21:54, 12 December 2025 (UTC)
- @~2025-40148-12 it looks like the current image was preferred for the lack of sunglasses (see relevant discussion.) ASUKITE 22:47, 12 December 2025 (UTC)

Moratorium (IMPORTANT!)
I'm getting really sick of the RM spamming by random TAs, especially the ones that affect this article.
Even after two page protections to this talk page, the spamming still persisted, even going as far as circumvention via other talk pages.
This has been brought up before in comments like this, and this, but has never been formally proposed, so I'm doing it right now.
I am requesting a moratorium on all title discussions for this article, of any set length. Any RMs will not be considered if it is in place. This is in line with articles that have faced similar situations, such as Twitter.
Anyone in favor? Thanks, 1isall (he/him) (talk | contribs) 01:02, 13 December 2025 (UTC)
- Strong support: people have basically lost their minds at this point. We could try a 1-year moratorium maybe (no RMs until December 2026). Newbzy (talk) 18:06, 13 December 2025 (UTC)
- I want to really get this discussion going. Are there any users I should ping? Thanks, 1isall (he/him) (talk | contribs) 18:20, 13 December 2025 (UTC)
- You said it yourself; these are not good faith RMs. It's spamming. I don't believe you'll see any objection to this. 162 etc. (talk) 18:30, 13 December 2025 (UTC)
- @Myceteae: I believe you were the first to suggest imposing a moratorium, so it'd be great to have your input on how long the time period should be. Newbzy (talk) 18:45, 13 December 2025 (UTC)

- Support. Might also be useful to add an FAQ item like:
- Q: Why was my request to change the article's title removed?
- A: The consensus is that this person is generally referred to as "Sean Combs", not "Sean 'Diddy' Combs" or "Diddy". There is a moratorium on discussions about the title of the article until DATE."
- Lots of TA drive-by change recommendations though so the usefulness might be minimal but at least it might help. — Rtrb (talk) (contribs) 23:34, 13 December 2025 (UTC)
- Support 12-month moratorium. There have been at least four RMs started here since I suggested this in October. This has to be one of the most discussed article titles on en-wiki. Repeated RMs are disruptive and a total time suck. Many have been speedy-closed and a moratorium can't actually stop someone from attempting a new one but there is value in documenting community consensus against these discussions. I doubt that there will be a good reason to change the title after one year but I'm not comfortable imposing a longer moratorium at this time. —Myceteae🍄🟫 (talk) 18:39, 16 December 2025 (UTC)
- It's the beginning of 2026 and I believe we have reached a consensus. I'm not too sure myself how to officially enforce a moratorium, but I've created the FAQ envisioned by Rtrb (with some additions) and added it to this page's banners. Discussions on renaming this page have been halted until January 2027, but of course we can reduce that period if someone wants to challenge it. Thanks to all and happy new year – Newbzy (talk) 08:20, 1 January 2026 (UTC)
