About me
My name is Mason Garrison; I am an assistant professor of quantitative psychology at Wake Forest University, and an administrator here, as of July 2025. My Google Scholar profile contains a list of my published research in quantitative psychology, biometrically-informed designs, and health inequity. See my GitHub profile, open-source multimedia data science textbook, and latest R package for more about my work.
I have two lines of research that evaluate biometrically-informed designs for psychology and their application to understanding health inequity. In my substantive work, I focus on how individual differences influence the relationship between socioeconomic status and health. In my methodological work, I focus on developing and improving biometrically-informed designs, such as behavior genetic discordant kin models, and pedigree models. These designs strengthen our ability to make causal inferences by leveraging environmental and genetic information, usually using publicly-available data.
Since joining Wikipedia in 2012, I have contributed extensively to:
- Categorization & Categorization Templates: Systematically improving Wikipedia's category structure, ensuring accurate and consistent classification of articles.
- AutoWikiBrowser Development: Optimizing the typo plugin for large-scale copy editing improvements.
- Policy & MOS Compliance: Ensuring adherence to Wikipedia's style guides, particularly in medical and disability-related content.

| Per ancient tradition, it is my great pleasure to pass on this baton to you, as Curbon7 did to me. It serves as a reminder that, despite dramas petty and grand, we work together to build an encyclopedia. You, holding this baton, are saluted by all its past holders. Enjoy it and then pass it on to the next AELECT admin as soon as you can! jlwoodwa (talk) 00:10, 3 August 2025 (UTC) |
