Nice cite edits at Girl from the North Country. I'm noticing that DISCOGS is giving some record label art for the song which might be added to the Infobox if you are good at this sort of thing here: . ErnestKrause (talk) 00:39, 29 January 2025 (UTC)
- Hi. Thanks. I've never uploaded an image to Wikipedia and I'm not familiar with what's allowed and what not. I'll look at it, as it's true a good image would improve the article. AwerDiWeGo (talk) 00:47, 29 January 2025 (UTC)
- In case you get ready to try doing some downloading on Wikimedia, then I've found some added cover art for the sheet music from Europe and Holland here: . ErnestKrause (talk) 00:43, 13 February 2025 (UTC)
- They can probably help at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Songs and then we can more easily learn how to do it, what language needs to be used when uploading, etc. AwerDiWeGo (talk) 08:37, 13 February 2025 (UTC)
- Could you suggest a favorite among those 3-4 images? ErnestKrause (talk) 17:03, 13 February 2025 (UTC)
- Not the french cover. It has to be Dylan. I like the cover art for the sheet music better than the single label art because I don't think this song's popularity is related to a released single. But any of the two would be good. AwerDiWeGo (talk) 17:36, 13 February 2025 (UTC)

Oops
We must have both tried to revert the same IP edits. All good from my end. Sorry about the confusion. Simonm223 (talk) 17:55, 15 July 2025 (UTC)
- Yes. No reason to be sorry. All good. AwerDiWeGo (talk) 17:59, 15 July 2025 (UTC)
Edit summaries
Hi, AwerDiWeGo; thanks for working on citations here. I noticed your edit summaries of "ce", which lead me to click on each diff to review them. If you would switch to a more accurate edit summary (eg, completing citations), editors like me wouldn't feel the need to check the edit, and that would save editor time. Ce (copyedit) usually refers to prose changes or textual corrections. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 15:37, 26 August 2025 (UTC)
- Ok. I'm not a native English speaker and thought that completing citations would be covered by "ce". AwerDiWeGo (talk) 15:51, 26 August 2025 (UTC)
- Understood ... thanks for doing the work anyway! SandyGeorgia (Talk) 16:42, 26 August 2025 (UTC)

The HEB discussion at ANI
I've been watching the discussion about HEB and his indef. I agree with a lot of what you're saying, but sharp comments and rapid-fire replying to several people at ANI are looked at with more scrutiny than other places and can sometimes backfire to end up hurting the case you're trying to present. You mentioned not having been active there before, so I thought I'd drop you a quick message about this. Thebiguglyalien (talk) 🛸 23:30, 16 December 2025 (UTC)
- I was about to self revert just when I saw your notification. Thanks. AwerDiWeGo (talk) 23:33, 16 December 2025 (UTC)
- I'm not sure giving powerful folks a poor excuse to close inquiry into TPH's behaviour is what you are aiming to achieve. Normally, you would be page blocked before that happened of course, but nothing at ANI is ever normal. :) -- SashiRolls 🌿 · 🍥 18:12, 18 December 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks. To clarify, my comments there were not because I have an interest in evaluating TPH's behaviour, but because I haven't been able to understand the rationale for the two sanctions HEB got. And a few minutes ago I realized that some of my comments where I argue that the closer should ignore comments or !votes that don't show any valid, rational evaluation of the issue... those comments I made could be understood to refer to the discussion about TPH's behaviour. But my intention was in reference to the discussion about the sanctions that HEB got; I did a poor job at making that clear.
- Thanks for your message. AwerDiWeGo (talk) 18:24, 18 December 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you all. @AwerDiWeGo you may have valid points (I haven't caught up on the latest updates to the discussion), but as @SashiRolls and @Thebiguglyalien noted, this was not the way to raise them. I'm not sure it's powerful folks so much as how things are done, but that's neither here nor there.
- You are absolutely welcome to open a new thread if you believe someone's conduct needs examining, but that thread needs to be resolved before 2027. Star Mississippi 19:37, 18 December 2025 (UTC)

December 2025

{{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}. SarekOfVulcan (talk) 03:58, 19 December 2025 (UTC)- Please clarify how did I edit war. The course of events was as follows:
- User:SashiRolls correctly and understandably hatted several comments in this edit: .
- User:GhostOfDanGurney correctly and understandably changed the initial statement for the hat and gave a valid reason in the edit summary: . The valid reason in the edit summary was
Let's have a neutral statement for the hat, please.
- I understood GhostOfDanGurney's change, and changed the beginning of the hat with the following edit summary:
If the statement for the hat is not going to be the initial one, but the one that GhostOfDanGurney wrote later instead, then the hat should start one comment below. Otherwise, reset to the initial statement.
Also, it is my understanding that this change I made was in line with the suggested span for the hat made by User:CommunityNotesContributor here: . Maybe I misunderstood that? I think that's what CNC meant. - User:Fortuna imperatrix mundi reverted my edit: .
- I then reset the whole thing to the initial state as had been initially implemented by SashiRolls. The reason why I did that was explained in other edit summaries. My edit summary here was:
Reset to the initial statement, as Fortuna imperatrix mundi reverted my last edit with the edit summary "Unnecessary."
- GhostOfDanGurney reverted my edit, leaving the whole thing in the state that was set first by GhostOfDanGurney that deviated from the initial hatting by Sashirolls. But I understood GhostOfDanGurney's concern as I said in my third (and last) edit and was implied in my first edit.
- My third and last edit was this one: and my edit summary was this:
GhostOfDanGurney, I understand your point. My point is that if the initial statement for the hat is changed, I'm ok with it (as shown by my initial edit related to this); however, as I said in that edit summary, then the hatting has to start one comment below; otherwise, the current statement is not an accurate statement for the hat (but that was reverted with no valid explanation by fortuna imperatrix mundi).
- None of my three edits reverted any one. I was reverted twice; I understood the revert by GhostOfDanGurney, as I think it's clear from my edit summaries. And I didn't dispute it or revert it. The revert by Fortuna imperatrix mundi is not unreasonable, and I didn't revert it either. I just changed the whole thing to the initial state as implemented by SashiRolls and I think I gave a valid reason for it. GhostOfDanGurney then also gave a valid reason for their change and, finally, I acknowledged the valid reason given by GhostOfDanGurney, didn't question it, didn't revert it, and just gave a valid reason for my third and final edit. None of my three edits were reverts (sorry for repeating myself).
- I know all this is boring, long and annoying for all of us, but I guess we're all used to this kind of stuff by now. AwerDiWeGo (talk) 05:16, 19 December 2025 (UTC)

- Editing while logged out to evade a block is against policy, as you clearly did here. I strongly suggest you refrain from violating policy further while blocked, as that will result in further extensions to your block. - The Bushranger One ping only 18:07, 20 December 2025 (UTC)

- Given repeated trolling and arguably violent statements by the obvious sock, the block on this account has been extended to indefinite. - The Bushranger One ping only 21:44, 21 December 2025 (UTC)
- I am the grandniece and I wrote those things, not my granduncle. I did not think that some consider violent statements singing the Marseillaise as a joke. The Marseillaise is the hymn of France. They sing the Marseillaise in a film in black and white that my granduncle loves and my granduncle sings it some times to make us laugh.
- The other thing was the hymn of the Soviet Union that my uncle likes the music but laughs and jokes about the lyrics singing in Spanish. I copied it in Russian and did not think that some can consider this joke violent statements. I do not understand Russian. I thought it was only a joke as when my granduncle sings it in Spanish because he likes the music and makes jokes with his funny translations of the lyrics.
- My granduncle says that we should forget this, forget everything. He says "no big deal" (in English "no big deal", he says this in English) and said (in Spanish) "forget it, no more editing Wikipedia", and in English "no big deal". But I want to write this. ~2025-41839-80 (talk) 23:50, 21 December 2025 (UTC)
- (Non-administrator comment) Assuming this is true, you've unfortunately made things much worse for him.
- Wikipedia is an encyclopedia and its not meant for political statements and things like this - please see WP:NOTFORUM.
- He was already temporarily blocked and essentially on probation, then you posted statements on someone's Talk page that could be read as an attack.
- If you're not here to contribute to Wikipedia, please kindly refrain from posting further as these responses aren't helping him at all & just muddy the waters. Blue Sonnet (talk) 01:10, 22 December 2025 (UTC)
- That TA's first post was certainly an attack, and not one which can be explained away as a misguided quotation of song lyrics. The new TA above also seems to be engaged in block evasion by their own admission. DNFTT. ~2025-42381-42 (talk) 01:23, 22 December 2025 (UTC)
- Yep, I'm definitely taking the AGF view just in case & figured it was worth one post - an admin will get to this soon enough to figure it out. Blue Sonnet (talk) 02:01, 22 December 2025 (UTC)

- I don't buy that the account was WP:COMPROMISED (See also WP:My little brother did it). Looking at the contribs before and after, I see a tantrum, not a compromised account. This is just a little too convenient. Dennis Brown - 2¢ 08:45, 22 December 2025 (UTC)
- Agreed - even though I approached this as genuine pending admin review, it doesn't really make sense to me. We'll have to see what happens as time passes (hopefully nothing). Blue Sonnet (talk) 12:15, 22 December 2025 (UTC)
