Edit summary

Information icon Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed that one or more recent edits you made did not have an edit summary. Collaboration among editors is fundamental to Wikipedia, and every edit should be explained by a clear edit summary, or by discussion on the talk page. Please use the edit summary field to explain your reasoning for an edit and/or to describe what it changes. Summaries save time for other editors and reduce the chances that your edit will be misunderstood. For some edits, an adequate summary may be quite brief.

The edit summary field looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

or in the visual editor:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

Describe what you changed

Please provide an edit summary for every edit you make. When logged in to your Wikipedia account, you can give yourself a reminder by setting Preferences Editing Tick Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary (or the default undo summary), and then click the "Save" button. Thanks! Hotwiki (talk) 22:27, 2 October 2025 (UTC)

Please don't ignore this message and start using the edit summary. Hotwiki (talk) 23:36, 2 October 2025 (UTC)

Your submission at Articles for creation: My First Love Song (KickFlip song) (October 3)

Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by Dan arndt was:
This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of music-related topics). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.
The comment the reviewer left was:
Fails the requirements of WP:NSONG, lacks any critical reviews of the song.
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit after they have been resolved.

Not using the edit summary

Information icon Hello. I have noticed that you often edit without using an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This helps your fellow editors use their time more productively, rather than spending it unnecessarily scrutinizing and verifying your work. Even a short summary is better than no summary, and summaries are particularly important for large, complex, or potentially controversial edits. To help yourself remember, you may wish to check the "prompt me when entering a blank edit summary" box in your preferences. Thanks! Hotwiki (talk) 17:55, 10 October 2025 (UTC)

Copying/pasting references from other Wikipedia articles and not updating the access date

Information icon Hello, I'm Hotwiki. I noticed that you made one or more edits to an article, concerning the updates of review statistics, box office numbers, sports statistics, or some other frequently updated data with a fixed web address, but you did not update the |access-date= parameter in the citation template. The |access-date= parameter is the full date when the content pointed to by the URL was last verified to be working and supporting the text being cited in the article. This means that the parameter needs to be updated whenever the content is updated. If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Andrew Choi, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Dall. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ  Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Your submission at Articles for creation: List of songs recorded by Nmixx (November 10)

Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by Guninvalid was:
Thank you for your submission, but the subject of this article already exists in Wikipedia. You can find it and improve it at List of songs recorded by Nmixx instead.
The comment the reviewer left was:
This seems to have duplicate scope with Nmixx discography. Consider simply etargetting the redirect and merging content from here into it.

Your submission at Articles for creation: Run Away (Tzuyu song) (December 7)

Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by Robert McClenon was:
This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of music-related topics).  The comment the reviewer left was:
This draft does not appear to indicate which of the musical notability criteria is satisfied. If at least one of the criteria is satisfied, please revise this draft appropriately, with a reliable source, if necessary stating on the draft talk page or in AFC comments which criterion is met, and resubmit. If the subject satisfies general notability, please also indicate on the draft talk page or in AFC comments when resubmitting. You may ask for advice about the musical notability criteria at the Teahouse.

Please use references that are in English language and alphabet

This is English Wikipedia and all articles are written with English alphabet. Its completely hard to read references that are in Hangul. Please don't post references that are purely in Hangul alphabet/language, especially references that don't provide English translation. Hotwiki (talk) 18:21, 17 January 2026 (UTC)

@Hotwiki just quickly jumping in. Per WP:NONENG, non-English sources are acceptable on the English Wikipedia. Why do you see it as an issue?
Btw I was here to say thank you @Deex123 for your recent article creations :) Broc (talk) 15:27, 28 January 2026 (UTC)
Its an issue, because its hard to proofread something that is in different language, to the point I can't find what is being referenced. A lot of South Korean pop culture content get coverage from third party references that are in English language, I cannot understand why Deex123 isn't using references that are in English, especially this is English Wikipedia. We aren't typing in Hangul when editing these pages. Hotwiki (talk) 18:52, 28 January 2026 (UTC)
It looks like you have ignored this message by adding another reference that isn't written in Latin Alphabet. Is it hard to find an English language reference and an article not written in Hangul text? I'm reminding you again, this is English Wikipedia. I've visited the external link you posted and I'm telling you, I cannot read anything from that article except numbers. Hotwiki (talk) 15:31, 2 March 2026 (UTC)
Also, not responding to this talk page message won't look good to you, when I raise this issue to other Wikipedia pages. You have to communicate with your fellow editors especially when you're involved in an issue. Hotwiki (talk) 15:33, 2 March 2026 (UTC)
Throwing in my 2¢ here. No, they do not have to use English language sources per WP:NONENG. While it is preferable that they are in English, nothing about reliability confines them to the English language. guninvalid (talk) 18:37, 3 March 2026 (UTC)

Information icon Hello, I'm LakesideMiners. I noticed that you recently removed all content from a page. Please do not do this. Blank pages are harmful to Wikipedia because they have a tendency to confuse readers. As a rule, if you discover a duplicate article, please redirect it to an appropriate existing page. If a page has been vandalised, please revert it to the last legitimate version. If you feel that the content of a page is inappropriate, please edit the page and replace it with appropriate content. If you believe there is no hope for the page, please see the deletion policy for how to proceed. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you wish to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Hi Deex123. Thank you for your work on I Dream (15& song). Another editor, 11WB, has reviewed it as part of new pages patrol and left the following comment:

Some of the claims are not verifiable, for example the writers are not named in ref 3. Please make sure information in the article is backed up by sources.
