Improperly sourced statements regarding 2024 World Aquatics Championships

Information icon Hello, I'm Peloneous. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Doha, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. I have also removed the identical statement added to 2024 Summer Olympics whose citation was to a non-existent page on the Qatar Tourism website. Thank you.

Overlinking

Hello, I partially reverted your edits to Salman of Saudi Arabia as you added links to things that should generally not be linked; countries, especially common ones such as the ones you linked (China, Japan, Pakistan, etc.) should generally not be linked to, as described in MOS:OL, as well as dates, including the link you added to 2015. There is a reason those pages were not linked to before, and please take a look at the MOS conventions on what generally should and should not be linked. Thanks. Information icon Please do not use styles that are nonstandard, unusual, inappropriate or difficult to understand in articles, as you did in Zamzam Well. There is a Manual of Style, and edits should not deliberately go against it without special reason. See MOS:OVERLINK. Please do not link country names. You have been warned about this previously. October 2024

Information icon Hello, I'm Frost. I wanted to let you know that one or more external links you added to Qatari involvement in higher education in the United States have been removed because they seemed to be inappropriate for an encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page, or take a look at our guidelines about links. Thank you. Frost 11:53, 8 October 2024 (UTC)

Information icon Hi Fidjeri! I noticed that you have reverted to restore your preferred version of an article several times. The impulse to undo an edit you disagree with is understandable, but I wanted to make sure you're aware that the edit warring policy disallows repeated reversions even if they are justifiable.

All editors are expected to discuss content disputes on article talk pages to try to reach consensus. If you are unable to agree, please use one of the dispute resolution options to seek input from others. Using this approach instead of reverting can help you avoid getting drawn into an edit war. Thank you. Justjourney (talk | contribs) 16:48, 3 May 2025 (UTC)

Hi Justjourney, thank you for your messege and kind approach. I am aware of the policy, however from what comes to my mind at the moment, reversions i did, were on article that information i wrote was wrongly deleted time and again. Sometime by a user that simply used an ip, not even explaining why he deleted information. My guess is, he didn't like what is written.
I do my best to follow the rules, each reversion i did, is explained, sourced and backed with facts. I understand the point you are making. Having said that, i hope you approached some of those who deleted information, and explained them the policy. Once again i thank you for your messege, i hope you understood my point too. I will do my best to follow policy in the future. Fidjeri (talk) 18:47, 3 May 2025 (UTC)

Introduction to contentious topics

You have recently edited a page related to India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have an expanded level of powers and discretion in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures, you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

Ways to improve Sana Yousuf

Hello, Fidjeri,

Thank you for creating Sana Yousuf.

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

Good start, however the page is not fully meeting neutrality and other WP guidelines. To overpass one event notability issue you have to work more on this page and demonstrate a lasting general notability

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Old-AgedKid}}. Remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.

Information icon Hello, I'm Folkezoft. An edit that you recently made to Strait of Hormuz seemed to be generated using a large language model (an "AI chatbot" or other application using such technology). Text produced by these applications can be unsuitable for an encyclopedia, and output must be carefully checked. Your edit may have been reverted. If you want to practice editing, please use your sandbox. If you think a mistake was made, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Information icon Hello, I'm Yelps. I noticed that you recently removed content from Project Endgame without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. About Bids for the 2036 Summer Olympics Edit

Information icon Hello, I'm Josh0108 (alt). I noticed that you have reverted my edit, which mainly involved removing this section below:

"The Qatar 2022 World Cup took place under serious claims of corruption. Qatar was accused it bribed FIFA officials to win the hosting rights of the event. According to amnesty and other sources, human rights problems were common, especially for migrant workers, that faced unfair working conditions, high recruitment fees, unpaid wages, and little help or compensation after the event ended. To this date Qatar's laws against homosexuality and its harsh treatment of LGBTQ people still draw strong criticism. Same-sex acts can lead to imprisonment, and LGBTQ symbols were banned at the World Cup venues. Even though Qatar promised tolerance, many human rights groups criticized the country for not protecting workers' and LGBTQ rights during and after the tournament."

I removed it because I don't believe it belonged in the section due to two reasons:

  1. It deviates from the main topic (which is Qatar wanting to host the Olympics). It goes from talking about Qatar's bid to a section about corruption regarding the 2022 FIFA World Cup that was hosted in Qatar. I understand that if Qatar were to host the Games, there would be controversy, but it'll only materialise if Qatar is awarded the rights to host.
  2. The text, to me, is seemingly taken from another page with little changes to fit within this page's context. Also, it was most assuredly written before Qatar had launched its bid, so there is nothing in the text that correlates with the Olympics.

I get your reasons for adding this section, but it is not appropriate at this time. If you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page.

P.S. DO NOT call me a vandal ever again. Josh0108 (alt) (talk) 16:03, 12 November 2025 (UTC)

Hello
  1. I can see your point claiming it deviates from the main topic. However i believe in the bigger picture. You cannot ignore this sort of information appears on other pages regarding bids, or ignore Qatar's controversial history, when it comes to international sports and tournaments, that is even before we look into the human rights abuse and other aspects that were problematic, when they hosted the World Cup. Overlooking this, i believe is wrong.
  2. I should have written that the text does come from another page and credited it.
  3. I am sorry for calling you a vandal, however, removing information without reason is considered on Wikipedia disruptive.

Repeated vandalism may result in the loss of editing privileges.

Proposed deletion of Nasser bin Radan Al Rashid Al Wadaei

Notice

The article Nasser bin Radan Al Rashid Al Wadaei has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Lack of notability and his age is unverified. The article provides no encyclopedic value. I'd say this can go on a list but doesn't need its own article. In addition, all sources are unverified.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion based on established criteria.

If the proposed deletion has already been carried out, you may request undeletion of the article at any time. BelowFlames (talk) 18:44, 15 January 2026 (UTC)
