hey

are you okay? ltbdl (select) 13:29, 14 April 2026 (UTC)

Hey k, just noticed what happened here, and echoing this sentiment — hope everything's alright in your world. If you want to talk about it, you know how to reach out to me. TechnoSquirrel69 (sigh) 23:53, 17 April 2026 (UTC)

just fyi

i am sorry you were indeffed. although i understand why. you were shaping up to be a great editor!--i hope you return to the project under a fresh start whenever you feel ready to take things a bit slower. i moved your sandbox on jim carrey's political art to draftspace as i'd like to see that article published; it'd be a shame to see your efforts go without recognition. wishing you and your loved ones well in the meantime <3 --Plifal (talk) 06:28, 19 April 2026 (UTC)

User:Plifal: The routes that Kinnimeyu can explore is a simple unblock request when emotions have calmed down, or a WP:STANDARDOFFER after 6 months. A fresh start with a new account is only an option for someone without active sanctions. An article in draftspace might be at a higher risk of deletion, as drafts not edited for 6 months are routinely deleted. —Femke 🐦 (talk) 06:29, 24 April 2026 (UTC)
whoops sorry, misread the initial advice and was thinking the six months of a standard offer could apply to this case. i actually plan to work on the draft article on their behalf and, if they do not plan to return to the project after that time, publish it so their good work is still available to be read.--Plifal (talk) 06:36, 24 April 2026 (UTC)

DYK for Backstroke of the West

On 4 May 2026, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Backstroke of the West, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that, in a Chinese bootleg DVD of Revenge of the Sith, Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi are part of the "Hopeless Situation Presbyterians"? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Backstroke of the West. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Backstroke of the West), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Request reason:

just logged back in. wasn't sure if i was supposed to do this here too, but copying the text from my appeal, #112758. this was meant to be split into paragraphs, but it removed the new lines:

per the unblock policy, i'd like to ask for this appeal not to be reviewed by Premeditated Chaos, as this mostly involves a dispute i had with them in regards to my conduct, which led to this block. fair warning: i was emotionally vulnerable and intoxicated during the time this happened. this isn't, and won't be, a recurring thing. my conduct had to do with factors outside of wikipedia, and on-site conflicts that boiled over.

prior to the block, i was involved with the english wikipedia discord server. my conduct wasn't the best at times, and i'd sometimes shitpost or get into short spats. after about a month of me hanging around there, at one point, i acted disruptive by posting a giant trout emoji out of nowhere during an on-topic conversation. though i tried to lighten the mood afterwards, i was aggressively confronted by Premeditated Chaos about it and my previous conduct. after a short argument, i opted to solve the problem by leaving the server outright.

separately, i was involved with an RfC with other veteran editors about whether angine de poitrine's genre lead should state they were a "math rock band" or "rock band". though i was admittedly disorganized trying to figure out where wikipedia policy stood on this, i got frustrated when discussion with the other involved editors about consensus came to a standstill. before quitting, i disregarded the RfC to edit the genre lead to "math rock" in retaliation.

that night, i got sick of things, and had a lapse in judgment while drinking. i decided to quit on the spot, and figured the easiest way to do this would be to force a block. i intentionally blanked one of Premeditated Chaos's articles, and then my own user page, logging off & deleting my credentials from my password manager. i was subsequently reported to ANI and blocked.

knowing all of this, if my appeal is accepted, i'm going to do the following:

  • i will abstain from interacting with the english wikipedia discord server. this situation was due in large part to my conduct there, and it'd be best if i stayed away to avoid future conflict.
  • i will avoid interacting, and arguing with, the involved editors. i have no ill will towards anyone that was a part of this, and fully acknowledge that i was the one at fault.
  • i will keep my community interaction to a minimum. i'd like to return to editing quietly, and will be sure to avoid on-site arguments, going through the proper channels only when necessary.
  • once my account is unblocked, i want to request a clean start. i know i can't just run away from an appeal and quietly start fresh, and i'm willing to attach my old username to a new account if i have to.

i sincerely apologize for my conduct and for the disruption i caused. after a month away, i've had time to think over my actions, and i want to keep contributing to the website, though in a more private and less community-oriented capacity. i'd like the chance to make up for my mistakes and prove i can do better.

thank you for reading!

EDIT: please see the below exchange if the appeal itself is unsatisfactory, i spoke more on things which weren't properly addressed at first out of concern of making things worse.

Decline reason:

Because this unblock request discusses off-wiki conduct, it should be sent to ArbCom. voorts (talk/contributions) 20:20, 11 May 2026 (UTC)

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Hey k, I'm glad to see you've calmed down and made this request. I'm not an administrator, but I think your post has a key issue: you fail to acknowledge — let alone apologize for — these hypocritical insults that you directed at Premeditated Chaos. Even if the situation called for this, and I don't think it did, this kind of talk is unacceptable on Wikipedia. I also feel like your intent to use a clean start comes off as an attempt to avoid accountability. Even if it's difficult, I would encourage you to face the consequences of your actions, which will only strengthen your case for an unblock. Let me know if you have any questions. TechnoSquirrel69 (sigh) 16:13, 6 May 2026 (UTC)
@TechnoSquirrel69: to be honest, i didn't directly bring it up because:
1) i don't want to rekindle past drama that had no place on the site to begin with, which i take full accountability for having done while intoxicated.
2) i made no attempt to justify the insults by mentioning the off-site interactions which led up to this. those aren't relevant here, and i'm taking responsibility for my own actions.
3) the diff comments would be taken into consideration anyway. administrators can see my edit history, i'm not trying to hide it, and i know what i did wrong.
i'm not looking to sweep my actions under the rug in any way. i'm maintaining that my request to start fresh was just to dissociate from the situation and avoid future problems. if my conduct with other editors is a problem, i have to accept it, and i'll refrain from putting myself in spaces where i could cause problems. question, though: i figured i could put a banner on my profile which stated i was banned for xx reason during xx time.
but you're right to point out that there wasn't a direct apology. i just didn't want Premeditated Chaos to be involved with this.
so for that, PMC: i apologize, we were both under stress at the time and i'm fully aware my actions only made things worse. it was an immature overreaction, made worse by me deciding to be under the influence that night. i deeply regret it and it was completely out of line. i'd just like to admit to my mistakes, move on, and prove that i'm able to contribute on my own without issue. Kinnimeyu (talk) 16:37, 6 May 2026 (UTC)
It's good that you mean to take responsibility; I'm just telling you how it looked from the outside. Anyways, thank you for making that apology. You should know that if you mean to go ahead with a clean start, the policy states that you will generally have to avoid the content areas you were involved in. I'm also confused by "i made no attempt to justify the insults by mentioning the off-site interactions", because you absolutely did mention those interactions ("at one point, i acted disruptive by posting a giant trout emoji ... i was aggressively confronted by Premeditated Chaos" — not the most transparent characterization of that conversation, by the way). TechnoSquirrel69 (sigh) 16:55, 6 May 2026 (UTC)
in regards to the interactions, i meant with other users, not my own conduct. sorry if my wording was confusing. also, since i wasn't particularly attached to any one topic & my work was usually one-offs, i'll just be working on new articles i wasn't previously involved with. Kinnimeyu (talk) 17:01, 6 May 2026 (UTC)
as for the conversation in question, my memory's fuzzy because i've tried to distance myself mentally from what happened. it makes me uncomfortable to look back on & think about what my actions caused because i know i was being an ass. i'm not trying to downplay it, i'm just struggling to remember, and i don't want to throw myself back into the discord server and see exactly what i said, knowing my presence could cause a problem. Kinnimeyu (talk) 17:07, 6 May 2026 (UTC)
I don't accept this apology. I don't appreciate the attempts to position me as an aggressor in our Discord interactions. You chose to interrupt a productive conversation with a new person with a trout in response to their reasonable question, which may have made them feel unwelcome. When I attempted to ask why, instead of just apologizing and dropping it, you continued to argue and accused me of acting in bad faith. Further to that, it was not the first time you were disruptive in response to me engaging in moderation (there was an incident in March involving you inserting yourself into a situation involving another user), and it was not the first time you were rude and abrasive in the server in general.
I don't appreciate you saying "we were both under stress" as though it makes your rudeness an acceptable or equivalent response to my attempt to moderate your behavior. You are the one who chose to escalate this to onwiki harassment more than 24 hours later, pinging me to a vicious little screed and vandalizing a GA I wrote with an edit summary so ugly that another admin chose to redact it. That goes beyond a stress reaction in the moment, and framing this as "past drama" severely downplays the harmfulness of your behavior. PMC (talk) 19:13, 6 May 2026 (UTC)
i accept your response, and i understand why my apology wasn't accepted. i'm not going to argue or push this any further. i'll step away and allow an admin to go ahead and close this appeal. Kinnimeyu (talk) 19:23, 6 May 2026 (UTC)
Replying here since you deactivated your Discord account again. I still don't think your case is hopeless. Please try to reflect on the concerns PMC brought up and communicate whether or not you've understood them. If you have, no one's going to look down upon you striking or rewriting the parts of your statement that we identified issues with. TechnoSquirrel69 (sigh) 21:17, 6 May 2026 (UTC)
