Sandboxes

thank you! 12.0.52.196 (talk) 17:13, 23 July 2025 (UTC)
Hello! please can you tell me, How do I find Sandbox drafts that I am working on? thank you. Marcellepedia (talk) 15:11, 9 August 2025 (UTC)
Hello! If you go into your contributions (which you can find next to your user name in the history of any article you've edited), you will see every edit you have made. You need to make sure you are signed in to your acccount when you edit, though, because a) you are otherwise busting the rules (editing while logged out) and b) if not, your contributions will be logged as an IP user. If you log in you can search for the sandbox under the title you used, for example: "User:Marcellepedia/sandbox/draft name".
If you are replying to (or in any way contacting another editor) you need to let them know by pinging them. (Begin your comment with the editor's name, for example: [[User:Marcellepedia|Marcellepedia]] or [[ping|Marcellepedia]]) . Also! Create headings for new topics on your talk page (or any talk page). (I have not had enough coffee yet, hope this makes sense.) JSFarman (talk) 16:22, 9 August 2025 (UTC)
thank you for this! Marcellepedia (talk) 18:44, 12 August 2025 (UTC)

MOS:LQ

Hello, just dropping by to let you know that Wikipedia uses the logical quotation style in all articles, no matter what style of English the article uses. That means punctuation goes outside quotation marks in most cases. Please read the linked guideline, and you may consider self-reverting the edits you've been making. Thank you. DrOrinScrivello (talk) 13:00, 3 October 2025 (UTC)

Thank you! I was noticing the inconsistency on articles where sometimes both ways of using periods and commas inside/ outside quotation marks ("Hello." "Hello".) were utilized in the same article and that's what prompted me to do some sweeping. I see now that I was too eager. Thank you for the link as well. I'll study. Marcellepedia (talk) 13:15, 3 October 2025 (UTC)
That's an easy mistake to make, and I certainly made similar ones before becoming more familiar with the MOS (and I'm sure I'll make more in the future). Thanks for being open to the constructive criticism, and happy editing! DrOrinScrivello (talk) 13:17, 3 October 2025 (UTC)
Thank YOU. I will start the self-reverting today once I get going. A good exercise for me. Marcellepedia (talk) 13:35, 3 October 2025 (UTC)
@DrOrinScrivello argh, i'm undoing my errors, and i may have undone your undo on Larry David. i corrected it. now moving on to the next one, but S-L-O-W-L-Y and more carefully. Insert faceplant emoji. Marcellepedia (talk) 16:54, 3 October 2025 (UTC)
No worries, Marcellepedia, I appreciate you taking the time to make the fixes. With that said, it looks like the same thing happened at Isaac Asimov – you had already been reverted by Richard75, so your revert put the mistake back in (I've since fixed it). It's probably a good idea to check each article's history to make sure your edits haven't already been fixed before reverting. DrOrinScrivello (talk) 17:55, 3 October 2025 (UTC)
Thank you for your patience. And your guidance. I am adding some notes to my user page as reference to help me as well. This will take a few days (shaking her head) but I will do the undo's and remind myself not to rush and make the same mistake. Marcellepedia (talk) 18:30, 3 October 2025 (UTC)

ArbCom 2025 Elections voter message

Hello! Voting in the 2025 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 1 December 2025. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2025 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:52, 18 November 2025 (UTC)

Ways to improve Christopher Elliott (composer and arranger)

Hello, Marcellepedia,

Thank you for creating Christopher Elliott (composer and arranger).

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

Notability is very thin here. Outside of a mention in "The International Who's Who in Popular Music 2002", he appears nowhere in main media sources. There is no WP:SIGCOV article on him in any quality UK source (nevermind International). thanks.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Aszx5000}}. Remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.

COI on Christopher Elliott (composer and arranger)

Hi Marcellepedia. I have come across your article Christopher Elliott (composer and arranger) which is struggling on notability. However, it is also strongly suggestive of a undisclosed paid editing article and perhaps you might consider whether you have a WP:COI that you should declate on the Talk Page of that bio? thanks. Aszx5000 (talk) 20:40, 29 November 2025 (UTC)

@Aszx5000: @Aszx5000: Hello@Aszx5000 and thank you for your notes. They are incredibly helpful. I will review the WP:COI for sure. I am not a paid editor. I do the suggested edit prompts on my homepage to strengthen my skills, most days, though I stepped away from the laptop over the holidays, some of them the same issue, light notability, very challenging. I am super into doing these from scratch, writing. I really, really appreciate your notes, they are super insightful. thank you and thank you again.~~~~ Marcellepedia (talk) 02:28, 1 December 2025 (UTC)

asilvering (talk) 23:11, 4 December 2025 (UTC)

@Asilvering good morning. It's funny how nervewracking it is to see this message. But, I get it. I do the editing prompts on my homepage here most days where it's got a number of flags, lots of them citing notability thinness; I try to find citations, sometimes I do, and when I can't, i go on to the next article for editing. Some of these are intense, some of them are just anemic.
I have spent a lot of time in my nine lives around people like this subject, mostly earlier in my career when I was writing about the industry. I was fascinated by these invisible workers, who were part of what made the stars align. I went to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony a few weeks ago and I was reminded, when they awarded some of these folks, how integral to the fabric of the work they were. I think these folks are not just dope, but important, and like many middle-aged women, unseen. I think this subject has a good story, is a good source for people studying what it is to be a composer or arranger, which I encountered a lot of when I was doing my Masters, around students looking for people no one has written about.
I also found the weasel words page, and realized, I could do further clean up here. If you decide to not-delete, I'll tackle that. For now, I will await to see what comes next and continue to do my prompts from the homepage. Marcellepedia (talk) 15:59, 5 December 2025 (UTC)
Yes, I find them pretty interesting too! The trouble is that, well, they're unseen. Your homepage prompts will be sending you to a lot of pages that need help and got stuck for similar reasons - there isn't actually much in the way of sourcing to use to improve the article, so people give up and move on to the next one, leaving the tag. The short version is that every article subject needs to mee WP:42 - significant coverage is the especially important one here. If you can't find sigcov, you might want to nominate the article for deletion yourself rather than trying to clean it up and having some jerk like me come by and slap a deletion tag on it. The way I think of it is like this: it actually kind of sucks to have a wikipedia article about yourself. It usually doesn't say the things you'd like for it to say, and, especially if you're the kind of "unseen" person like this, they often become woefully out of date or have incorrect information stay up in them for ages and ages, because no one is maintaining them. Sometimes this is just an icky experience for the subject, but sometimes it causes real harm. So we want to remove these articles when we can. And thanks very much for your help. -- asilvering (talk) 22:44, 5 December 2025 (UTC)
Thank you, I appreciate your unpacking of this for me. I await your advisement on next steps as I am super clueless as to what that entails. Marcellepedia (talk) 21:15, 6 December 2025 (UTC)
@Marcellepedia, what do you mean about next steps? -- asilvering (talk) 02:10, 7 December 2025 (UTC)
@Asilvering oh, do you take it down, do i take it down, who does the deleting? Marcellepedia (talk) 14:57, 9 December 2025 (UTC)
Try looking at the deletion discussion mentioned above, Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Christopher Elliott (composer and arranger). Liz Read! Talk! 21:40, 9 December 2025 (UTC)
Basically, that deletion discussion will run for seven days, and anyone is welcome to comment on whether the article should be deleted or not. You can argue that it should not be, if you like, or you can agree that it should go. At the end of the seven days, an administrator reads the discussion, and if the outcome is clear, they close it and take whatever action was agreed on. If it doesn't look clear, they can relist it for some more time (which usually means it will wait another seven days).
If you want to argue to keep the article, you'll want to show that the subject meets the guidelines at WP:GNG (short version: WP:42). It's most helpful if you can specifically link to the sources that you think count as significant coverage, so other editors can discuss whether they agree with that or not, rather than just having to take your word for it. You can also, for this person, use the guidelines at WP:NMUSIC. GNG works for everything, though. -- asilvering (talk) 01:29, 10 December 2025 (UTC)
Your notes are very helpful. Thank you! Thank you as well for the WP links. Marcellepedia (talk) 01:35, 10 December 2025 (UTC)

Okay, I want to fix everything. I am in a composer/conductor mode and I was following the cadence of other conductor wikipedia articles (Sabine Aubert, Mei-Ann chen, david zinman) but i suppose i went too far. I am going to use the teahouse to workshop my current article that i' building on a queer conductor.

Thank you for creating John Devlin (conductor).

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

Notability is very thin here. I cannot find any significant coverage on him specifically as a notable person in any quality sources. Almost all of the references are passing mentions of him that are related to the promotion of concert events which he is part of? thanks.

@Aszx5000: good morning. i have removed most of the passing mentions citations (I've left #9, as it is a qualifier of a claim of mentorship and #10 as it documents lineage). i have retained the citations of the main interviews, the pieces from the washington post, classical music and local publications, as well as cross referencing the awards received. And i've removed the duplicate citations. I will need to do another pass to make sure I got everything. thanks for strengthening mmy skills as an editor. you are appreciated.~~~~ Marcellepedia (talk) 16:42, 4 February 2026 (UTC)

WP:UPE articles

Hi Marcellepedia,

Per John Devlin (conductor), and other articles I have seen of yours (above), you are almost certainly writing Wikipedia articles commercially, per WP:UPE. Wikipedia does allow this but the conflict it must be disclosed on the article, and you should also be routing these through articles for creation for independent assessment. thanks. Aszx5000 (talk) 22:16, 1 February 2026 (UTC)

Aszx5000 copy. i've updated my user page. thank you for your diligence. and if i have the good fortune to be asked to do an article again, anything not to be back here, lol, i will filter through article for creation. ~~~~ Marcellepedia (talk) 16:59, 4 February 2026 (UTC)
@Aszx5000 good morning. following up re: the flags of COI, I have updated my user page for full disclosure. What is the process of removing the third bullet point (This article may have been created or edited in return for undisclosed payments) flag/tag on this on the article? thank you in advance for your guidance. ~~~~ Marcellepedia (talk) 15:54, 18 February 2026 (UTC)
Hi Marcellepedia. I see that you have put a tag on the talk page of the article. If you can also put a tag on the top of your own user page to say that you have written articles for compensation per Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure, then you can take the third bullet away. thanks for your response. Aszx5000 (talk) 17:36, 18 February 2026 (UTC)
@Aszx5000 Ah I'd put it at the bottom. okay I moved it to the top. thanks for the guidance. I appreciate it. ~~~~ Marcellepedia (talk) 18:08, 18 February 2026 (UTC)
