Retracting UPOL warnings
Hi DrOrinScrivello! In future should you wish to retract UPOL notices like you did here, please remove the category as well. In the instance of that user, I just blanked the section (which is also another good way of doing it). TheSandDoctor Talk 21:50, 22 July 2025 (UTC)
- @TheSandDoctor: Thank you for letting me know, I sometimes forget the behind the scenes aspects of some templates. I'll keep this in mind going forward, but hopefully won't have to retract any more notices! Thanks again, and sorry for the trouble. DrOrinScrivello (talk) 21:58, 22 July 2025 (UTC)
- It wasn't a trouble! I agree that hopefully no more need retracting, but wanted to share just in case you come across any others in future. TheSandDoctor Talk 22:00, 22 July 2025 (UTC)
Your user name
Hello! I saw the original off-broadway production of Little Shop of Horrors in 1982. It was mind blowing at the time, and I don't think there was anything else like it in the world. Viriditas (talk) 22:26, 26 August 2025 (UTC)
- @Viriditas: I'm sufficiently jealous. All I've seen are a couple of Off-Off- (off-, off-) Broadway showings, but nevertheless I'm of the opinion that the more homemade the Audrey II, the more enthusiastic the performances – it's always been a blast. Thanks for reaching out! DrOrinScrivello (talk) 00:14, 27 August 2025 (UTC)
- My pleasure. I distinctly recall how frightened and upset I was during the last scene. Our Wiki page says "Audrey II slithers towards the audience threateningly", and on stage, the plant did just that and seemed to come out over the first few rows (might have been my young imagination). I was scared silly! Viriditas (talk) 00:19, 27 August 2025 (UTC)

Nikki Hornsby
Why did you remove from the Grammy voting member Nikki Hornsby’s page factual data about the gift of her NARAS status from membership 2006 to the voting membership for over ten years? Factual data proof online many places of the document on the office wall of cjp-nhrecords.com and websites online. 2600:8801:8606:350:8DD3:6AC6:D343:6FD8 (talk) 07:37, 4 November 2025 (UTC)
- Hello again, IP. This has been discussed pretty extensively on the article talk page in the past, but here's a summary: Most editors do not feel as if being a voting member for a professional organization is notable enough for inclusion in an encyclopedia article. Even if it were – and this is the most important part – its inclusion would have to be verified by a reliable, secondary source. The only sourcing you or anyone else has been able to provide for that claim is self-published. And that's not terribly surprising, because if it were a notable piece of information, it would have been written about and we could include it. But it isn't, so it hasn't, so we don't.
- I'm sorry if that seems blunt, but you're exhibiting WP:IDHT behavior in response to multiple editors telling you that all additions to biographies of living persons have to be reliably sourced. The article as it is currently written is not in bad shape, and including one random bit of trivia is not going to improve it. DrOrinScrivello (talk) 14:23, 4 November 2025 (UTC)

Grenadian French Creole change
Hi, I was wondering why you removed a phrase from the Grenadian French Creole article here , Wikipedia isn’t censored and if it is a phrase used then it should be kept, it should be kept for its language content regardless of whether the sentence is a weird one. The Grenadian Historian (Aka. Mwen Sé Kéyòl Translator-a) (talk) 20:08, 1 April 2026 (UTC)
- Hello, thanks for reaching out. I understand that Wikipedia is not censored, but the principle of least astonishment is also important to keep in mind. That article contains over 50 example phrases, which is arguably too many to begin with (the purpose of an encyclopedia article about a language is not to teach the language), and one describing how to call someone a "whore" is not helping the reader and is frankly jarring in an encyclopedic context. I hope that helps explain why I removed it. DrOrinScrivello (talk) 20:18, 1 April 2026 (UTC)
- I completely understand that reasoning and I support the change, these creole phrases can be jarring and/or humorous in circumstances, I’ve encountered many such phrases. Thanks for the edit and swift reply and have a great rest of your day. The Grenadian Historian (Aka. Mwen Sé Kéyòl Translator-a) (talk) 20:24, 1 April 2026 (UTC)
