Your submission at Articles for creation: Mark Mann (photographer) (December 17)

Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reasons left by MCE89 were:
This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.
This submission does not appear to be written in the formal tone expected of an encyclopedia article. Entries should be written from a neutral point of view, and should refer to a range of independent, reliable, published sources. Please rewrite your submission in a more encyclopedic format. Please make sure to avoid peacock terms that promote the subject.
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit after they have been resolved.

Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:Mark Mann (photographer)

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Draft:Mark Mann (photographer), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. GPL93 (talk) 19:02, 17 December 2025 (UTC)

Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reasons left by I2Overcome were:
This submission is not adequately supported by reliable sources. Reliable sources are required so that information can be verified. If you need help with referencing, please see Referencing for beginners and Citing sources.

The comment the reviewer left was:
Note to reviewers: this submission has now been declined five times by four different editors. The author removed the templates and comments after each decline (see history). Note to author: please do not remove templates and comments from this page when your submission is declined. This is considered vandalism and if you do it again, your draft may be rejected. Your draft keeps getting declined because you have not shown enough coverage in reliable sources to establish notability. You keep switching your sources around without adding any new reliable sources. Currently, the all about photo source is taken from your website, commarts.com is just a magazine clipping, Dance Informa is okay but limited to a book review, and Digital Camera World is trivial. All about photo says "Mark’s editorial work has appeared in Esquire, Men’s Health, Vibe, Spin, Fortune, Billboard, Parade and Complex, among others." Can you cite any of these sources? They don't need to be available online; print sources are just fine.
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit after they have been resolved.

Information icon Hello, I'm Sarsenet. An edit that you recently made seemed to be generated using a large language model (an "AI chatbot" or other application using such technology). Text produced by these applications is usually unsuitable for an encyclopedia, and may contain factually inaccurate statements, fictitious citations, or other problems. You should instead read reliable sources and then summarize those in your own words. Your edit may have been reverted. If you want to practice editing, please use your sandbox. If you think a mistake was made, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Sarsenethe/they•(talk) 13:07, 31 December 2025 (UTC)

"Hi Sarsenet, thanks for the heads up. I've been using a thought partner to help me find the right Wikipedia rules and organize my thoughts because I'm new to this and find the formatting tricky on my phone. I'm a real person (Mark) just trying to get these archive links right for my appeal with qcne. I'll make sure to put things more in my own words going forward. Thanks!" Drafts

Please note that drafts such as Draft:Mark Mann (photographer) are not allowed to be filed in categories as if they were already finished articles, per WP:DRAFTNOCAT. The page must stay out of any categories while it's in draft, and may be added to categories only if and when it's been accepted and moved by an WP:AFC reviewer. The page has had to be pulled out of categories by myself or other editors at least five times now, however — so do not put it back into categories again. Also, note as well that there can be consequences for disobeying this rule, such as the immediate deletion of the draft, its semiprotection so that you can no longer edit it at all, or the temporary or permanent removal of your editing privileges on grounds of disruption. Bearcat (talk) 15:33, 24 December 2025 (UTC)

Hi Bearcat, I sincerely apologize. I am new to Wikipedia and didn't realize the code I was using had active categories at the bottom. I was following advice to fix formatting and missed checking the footer. I have now commented them out (``) as requested to comply with WP:DRAFTNOCAT. It won't happen again. Thanks for the cleanup. Mark Simon Mann (talk) 15:58, 24 December 2025 (UTC)
If you understood it and promised that it wouldn't happen anymore, then why are you still persistently putting the page back into categories again? You need to stop it. Bearcat (talk) 20:13, 27 December 2025 (UTC)
I am genuinely so sorry. I completely misunderstood how the category coding works in Drafts vs. Live articles. I thought I was fixing formatting, but I accidentally reactivated the categories. I have now commented them out entirely using `` tags to ensure they do not appear. I am not trying to be disruptive, just learning the syntax. Thank you for your patience, your feedback is appreciated again I'm sorry Mark Simon Mann (talk) 20:25, 27 December 2025 (UTC)

This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.
The comment the reviewer left was:
What is needed to establish notability are: Secondary sources that are fully independent from the person; that provide significant coverage (not trivial coverage or simple name-mentions; that are published in a verifiable reliable source.
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit after they have been resolved.

Your submission at Articles for creation: Mark Mann (photographer) (December 31)

Your recent article submission has been rejected and cannot be resubmitted. If you have further questions, you can ask at the Articles for creation help desk or use Wikipedia's real-time chat help. The reason left by I2Overcome was: This topic is not sufficiently notable for inclusion in Wikipedia. The comment the reviewer left was: Rejecting as not notable and WP:SNOW to avoid wasting any more reviewers' (or the author's) time. It has become apparent after 7 declines from 6 different reviewers in the past two weeks that the subject cannot meet WP:BIO. Plus, the author once again removed comments and decline templates after being clearly warned not to do so here and on their user talk page. They also removed a failed verification tag added by another reviewer. If another reviewer disagrees with my decision, please reverse it.

Hello and congratulations for having your page accepted, I suggest you add some sources to the “photographers displayed” section of the article, which I have placed a “citation needed” comment which you can remove once sources are shown to accurately show that those specific photographers were used at the Light gallery. You can also use offline sources if you have a newspaper in real life for example, or something from another second party. If you need any help please refer to the Teahouse.
