Information icon Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. This is just a note to let you know that I've moved the draft that you were working on to Draft:Chaim Thau, from its old location at User:Milwaukee911. This has been done because the Draft namespace is the preferred location for Articles for Creation submissions. Please feel free to continue to work on it there. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to ask me on my talk page. Thank you. Helpful Raccoon (talk) 02:19, 12 February 2025 (UTC)

Your submission at Articles for creation: Chaim Thau (June 5)

Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by MWFwiki was:
This submission reads more like an essay than an encyclopedia article. Submissions should summarise information in secondary, reliable sources and not contain opinions or original research. Please write about the topic from a neutral point of view in an encyclopedic manner.
The comment the reviewer left was:
Please review MOS:PROSE and WP:NOTESSAY, along with WP:NPOV. Things like "click here," "hence," "but not the last," "to paraphrase," just as examples, are not appropriate encyclopedic language.
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit after they have been resolved.

Your submission at Articles for creation: Chaim Thau (June 29)

Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reasons left by Vanilla Wizard were:
This submission reads more like an essay than an encyclopedia article. Submissions should summarise information in secondary, reliable sources and not contain opinions or original research. Please write about the topic from a neutral point of view in an encyclopedic manner.
This submission does not appear to be written in the formal tone expected of an encyclopedia article. Entries should be written from a neutral point of view, and should refer to a range of independent, reliable, published sources. Please rewrite your submission in a more encyclopedic format. Please make sure to avoid peacock terms that promote the subject.
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit after they have been resolved.

Information icon Please do not introduce links to draft articles in actual articles, as you did to Jewish partisans. Since a draft is not yet ready for the main article space, it is not in shape for ordinary readers, and links from articles should not go to a draft. Such links are contrary to the Manual of Style. These links have been removed. Thank you. - Arjayay (talk) 10:41, 11 July 2025 (UTC)

Didn't know....my apologies! Thanks for correcting Milwaukee911 (talk) 18:48, 11 July 2025 (UTC)
Hi Arjayay,
Here is an update to my "draft" article (regarding Charles "Chaim" Thau), which I prematurely included in into the Jewish partisan page, and which you rightfully corrected me given it conflicts to the Manual of Style.
As of today, my article is no longer a draft, and has been accepted by Wikipedia (Start class).
Can the link now be included in the Jewish Partisan article?
Most respectfully. Milwaukee911 (talk) 10:28, 21 July 2025 (UTC)

Previewing Edits on Charles Thau

Hi Milwaukee911, I'm just reaching out as I've been reverting a number recent edits of yours. Your edits are breaking references and leaving numerous redlinks in the article. See your edits here as an example. Leaving an article in this state is unacceptable, and any edits testing things out should generally be done in your sandbox. Please let me know if you have any questions. Katniss May the odds be ever in your favor ♥ 14:28, 12 October 2025 (UTC)

So sorry Katie’s….I got carried away in making a change, and it snowballed!
Appreciate the heads up (and monitoring my progress.
Will not happen again.
Thanks Milwaukee911 (talk) 15:27, 12 October 2025 (UTC)
Hi Milwaukee911! I was just glancing at Charles Thau again, and just wanted to give a friendly tip based on another issue I was noticing. If you scroll down to the bottom of the current version of the page, you'll notice there are five list-defined reference errors. This is because all references have to be cited somewhere within the content of the article. Currently, you just have them cited in the references section, which is what's causing those errors to show up. Citing those references within the article will fix the errors. Thanks and let me know if you have any questions! Katniss May the odds be ever in your favor ♥ 14:29, 14 October 2025 (UTC)

Sandbox

Please note that pages in your personal sandbox, such as User:Milwaukee911/sandbox, are not allowed to be filed in categories alongside finished articles in mainspace, per WP:USERNOCAT. The page must stay out of any categories so long as it's in sandbox, and this is not an optional rule that you're free to disregard or ignore.

As the page has had to be pulled out of categories three times in less than one week, do not readd it to categories again, because sandbox pages are not allowed to be in categories. Note, as well, that there can be consequences for disruption if it doesn't stop, such as the page's immediate deletion and/or the temporary or permanent suspension of your editing privileges. Bearcat (talk) 14:34, 1 February 2026 (UTC)

Please accept my sincerest apologies. Thank you for fixing the sandbox categories—— I was not aware active category tags can NOT be in the sandbox.
I understand now that sandbox drafts cannot have active category tags. I will ensure they are removed and commented out in any future drafts.
Again, I am so so so sorry for the trouble /extra work I caused you. It was not intentional (my ignorance)!
Thanks for all you have done for me. Milwaukee911 (talk) 16:13, 1 February 2026 (UTC)
If you understand that the sandbox page can't be in categories, then why have I suddenly had to pull it out of categories twice more in the past two days again? The page cannot be in categories, per WP:USERNOCAT — and since this is the second time I've had to point this out, we're quickly approaching the point when I'll have to report you for being disruptive if it continues any further. Bearcat (talk) 18:21, 8 February 2026 (UTC)
I totally lost lock on that restriction——it was NOT intentional.
Apologies from me don’t feel adequate even in my mind at this point. So I’ll promise—-never again ! you have my word! Milwaukee911 (talk) 18:30, 8 February 2026 (UTC)

Hello! Your submission of Charles Thau at the Did You Know nominations page has been reviewed, and some issues with it may need to be clarified. Please review the comment(s) at your nomination's entry and respond there at your earliest convenience. Thank you for contributing to Did You Know! Morogris () 19:41, 14 March 2026 (UTC)

Hello Morogris,
So sorry for the delay in responding to your concerns about the wiki article titled: Charles Thau
Related only to the hook for the Charles Thau article, please see the following source quote. If your concern is more than just the hook, please let me know any additional concerns.
The following quoted sentences are from (the newspaper behind the pay wall) the 1955 Milwaukee Journal article, Sunday, May 1, 1955, page 35, 2nd column, 4th para.
"Thau moved on with his unit in the advance on Berlin. In street fighting in the city, just before it fell to the Allies, he was wounded in the face by a machine gun bullet. He said he carried the slug in his cheek until 1951, when it was removed by a Milwaukee surgeon. He bears a scar on the lip where it entered and a scar on the cheek where the incision was was made to remove it."
(As an added verbal side note from his children, NOT in the citation, after the bullet slug was discovered via dental x-ray, and surgically removed, Charlie drilled a hole in the slug and kept it on his key ring for years. )
Hope this helps. Let me know if you need anything else. Milwaukee911 (talk) 20:35, 14 March 2026 (UTC)
Congrats on the promotion! It will be posted in the upcoming days. Morogris () 02:06, 16 March 2026 (UTC)
Thank you Morogris for the help thru the DYK pipeline and the promotion—-my 1st and very excited! Milwaukee911 (talk) 04:42, 16 March 2026 (UTC)
