I am a little surprised by your edit summary on the page when you immediately moved it back to mainspace, @Passengerpigeon.

I thought drafts also existed so that an editor can improve an article (regardless of whether or not it would survive AfD – which we don't know because it has a single source) without it being in mainspace. The delivery message above reads "I have converted it to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while."

Are main-to-draft moves only meant to be used when "the article won't survive AfD", and how is a new page reviewer meant to predict whether or not that would happen, especially when only one source is present and WP:NPPHOUR has passed multiple times over? aesurias (ping me in your reply, or I won't see it) (talk) 05:36, 20 February 2026 (UTC)

I admit that I can sometimes have a short temper and am sorry if I came off as brusque; there are no hard feelings really. I just personally believe that, in general, draftification is counterproductive to the mission of expanding the encyclopedia, and that if there is no real question as to the notability of something it is not harming the encyclopedia by staying published in a less than perfect state. In this case, either fixing it yourself (not that I’d expect others to) or adding maintenance tags is the better way to get more sources added; sending it to purgatory where a newer and more easily discouraged editor not familiar with the draftify-once-only rule will quite often let it expire to G13 is throwing the baby out with the bathwater. Plus, the original German article only had that one inline citation for the first few sections to begin with. Passengerpigeon (talk) 05:43, 20 February 2026 (UTC)

Backlog update

At the time of this message, there are 15,282 articles and 32,951 redirects awaiting review.

After the January–February drive the article backlog was reduced to 15,179 articles and the redirect backlog to 19,053 respectively. Great job! However, both queues are growing rapidly and any additional reviews are highly appreciated.

2024 and 2025 NPP Awards

JTtheOG was selected as the NPP reviewer of the year for both 2024 and 2025, for reviewing the most articles amongst all reviewers.

Hey man im josh and MPGuy2824 won the Redirect Ninja Master Award for 2024 and 2025 respectively, for reviewing the most redirects.

Overall in 2024, one Platinum, two Gold, eight Silver, 12 Bronze and 45 Iron Barnstars were awarded. Additionally, 66 reviewers got the NPP barnstar for doing more than 100 reviews through the year. In 2025, one Platinum, ten Silver, 13 Bronze and 38 Iron Barnstars were awarded. Additionally, 38 reviewers got the NPP barnstar for doing more than 100 reviews through the year.

January–February backlog drive

Hi Passengerpigeon. Thank you for your work on Götzendorf Interconnect. Another editor, Klbrain, has reviewed it as part of new pages patrol and left the following comment:

It's odd for a new article to be out-of-date other than as a translation; if would be great to update it. Also, there are effectively no in-line citaitons; listing them all at the end of the text doesn't help the reader to associate particular claims with particular sources.
