Islam and Socialistische Partij Anders
Vandalism on page Socialistische Partij Anders: removing Islam from ideologies. Uninformed removal, possible vandalism. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 103.24.32.62 (talk) 06:13, 16 December 2016 (UTC)
Atticus Shaffer
Hi - The photo that was posted of Atticus Shaffer was taken by a very famous paparazzo in Los Angeles just the other day. I am Atticus's biggest fan and therefore know what he looks like. Please do not confront me in the manner that you did ever again. I know my stuff, therefore tend to what you know best. Thank you and have a great day. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Atticusshafferfanclub (talk • contribs) 06:01, 9 December 2014 (UTC)
Regarding your message: Thanks! I was using Huggle, so I only reverted the blatant vandalism. I didn't notice any more in the diff. You were doing a nice job with your edits on the previous vandalism and on improving the article, by the way. Keep it up! Krashlandon (talk) 19:51, 6 December 2010 (UTC)

Hi - Thanks for the message. Usually when an anonymous editor changes a date like that without any supporting reference, I just change it back and indicate I was reverting an uncited change. Your way of finding the reference is much superior, so I appreciate the effort you put into it! --Ken Gallager (talk) 14:17, 13 December 2010 (UTC)
Vietnamese?
I have to agree with you. I have no idea how to create an edit for someone else on another language without their mistake or their password. I'm curious as to how you spotted it? I wonder if you might do me a favour if you are intrigued. I'm running this and we plan to have a multi lingual challenge. Could you create a Chinese stub for the museum article? I see you have some abilities there Don't worry if you are busy too but it would be intriguing, even if it is not perfect. Victuallers (talk) 17:14, 23 February 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks. I went into my user page, then My Contributions and then Global Contributions. I scrolled down through my bunched edits for each language-- no surprises until the end, when I found an entry for the VI project. I clicked through to the article. Once there, I checked View History (which is not in Eng., but is in the same place on the page, of course), and saw an edit for SeoMac. It must have been simply the most recent one on the Eng. article Galerga at the time the Vietnamese article on Galerga was created. Strange. A simple stub for the Derbyshire Museum might be possible: don't have a program for characters, but there's cut and paste. (That's how I've dealt with characters so far.) Thanks for replying. ZéroBot
Salut! SeoMac (d) 25 juillet 2011 à 05:30 (CEST) (moved from fr.wikipedia)
- Thank you for your rapport. In fact, this is not an error since the bot checked this page just when the vandal redirected the page Nancy Pelosi to The Witch of San Francisco. I've made the bot correct this on all wikis where this article is present… Regards, Toto Azéro Follow the guide ! 15:46, 25 July 2011 (UTC)
Re: IP address
Re your message: The blocking of the IP was due to an autoblock of the IP used by the blocked account MnZemike. Publicly accessible IP addresses do have a higher chance of being autoblocked because vandals like to use these open access computers. Editors who find themselves blocked through an autoblock can request an unblock through the {{unblock-auto}} template. If you find yourself repeated autoblocked, you can ask for an IP block exemption. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 20:38, 11 October 2011 (UTC)

Bad edit?
Hi SeoMac. What's the matter with my edits to the GPS article, I just added missing periods? 88.8C.80.7A (talk) 18:19, 15 May 2013 (UTC)
- You also deleted links from many references, making them useless, as here []. SeoMac (talk) 20:29, 15 May 2013 (UTC)
- What the @#&$#@*%!! I (personally) didn't do those link src deletions. But shortly before, I was playing with an article's infobox in the sandbox and most of the previews went okay except the last one, which kept saying I was missing some </ref> tags or something. I'm not sure, but I think it might be the proxy the computer network system I'm on uses.
- Regarding the intended edits I made, I see you did them for me (thanks :), but EncMstr ultimately reverted them saying they didn't belong. 88.8C.80.7A (talk) 15:17, 16 May 2013 (UTC)
- Strange things can happen with computer systems. I've had a few happen to me. I did go back and reinstate one of your changes--a period at the end an indented list that was structured as one long sentence. The other period was debatable: The other lines were complete sentences. Some people would add a period for consistency, but I personally wouldn't. Best regards. In the subcontinent region and specifically Pakistan ethnicities are defined by the current status. For example ALL Muslims who migrated from the urdu speaking regions of India after the partition in 1947 are called Muhajirs or Urdu Speaking. Ethnicities are not defined by ancient relations in the region josh was born and lived. My edit was therefore legit and should be restored. For reference you can also see the ethnicity of her granddaughter. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Yousha hashmi (talk • contribs) 13:19, 14 June 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks for explaining. I restored your edit to her info box. I knew that India recognizes Urdu-speakers as an ethnic group, but that's a very broad grouping. In any case, let's leave it as you have it. SeoMac (talk) 15:46, 14 June 2014 (UTC)
Thankyou for understanding my point of view instead of arguing for a long time. And yes I agree that urdu speakers are diverse but when it comes to defining the whole group by an ethnicity urdu speaking is the accepted term. :) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Yousha hashmi (talk • contribs) 19:17, 14 June 2014 (UTC)
Stegodon
Hello,
It appears that, while undoing a vandalism from 24 Dec. 2013 in this particular article you removed some additional, sourced information added in later edits as well (e.g. a reference to this study). Was this a mistake, or did you consider this information to be a vandalism as well? Regards --Macrochelys (talk) 19:33, 14 August 2014 (UTC)
- No, it was unintentional. I wondered why there was such a big difference in bytes between the changes, but I couldn't see why. I should have looked more closely. My only excuse is that I meant to go back and make some more changes based on the sources. I was focused on the Irish version of the article, while the Eng. article is set up to relate places stegodons were found to the epochs involved--more complicated). The range of the stegodon was from today's Congo to Japan. Thanks for catching this! SeoMac (talk) 20:29, 14 August 2014 (UTC)

Re your edit summary here: I don't object to your edit at all, but your edit summary is not correct. It's a Canadian school, not a British one, and hence should use Canadian spelling. Canadian spelling often, but not always, follows British spelling. Meters (talk) 23:17, 28 December 2014 (UTC)

100wikidays
Hi there! I'm revisiting the 100wikidays meta page and I was blown away to see someone undertaking the challenge in Irish, that is fantastic :) I'm part of Wikimedia Community Ireland, and we are always looking to find more active editors on GA. I hope you're enjoying the challenge, I was victim 40, and I wish that my Irish was strong enough to do it again in Irish. A second round of English might just have to do! If you are interested in helping us with some elements of GA, we'd love to hear from you, especially as we have a writing competition planned for next month. Smirkybec (talk) 23:58, 15 September 2016 (UTC)
- GRMA, a chara. It's the people who take the 100wikiday challenge on the English Wikipedia who impress me the most. You have to think of 100 topics that aren't already among the 5+ million articles already there, then marshall your resources. People on other language wikis have the luxury of translating from English or elsewhere. I was meaning to do some writing on monuments since last year's Wiki Loves Monuments. You people made a great start then with the list on the GA wiki. The problem is that even English Wiki with its tens of thousands of editors needs more help. We have a hardy band of about a dozen reasonably regular GA editors, but only three daily ones recently, although we had edits from about 75 different sources during the most recent month. Any editorial help on GA is greatly appreciated and makes a difference. If a person has the knack (i.e., knowing their limitations) then Gaeilge 1 or 2 is enough. People at levels 3, 4 or 5 should not be overwhelmed by the size of the challenge—Bíonn blas ar an mbeagán. I'll be looking forward to your contest next month. I started my second round on 100Wikidays and will plan on diverting my attention to monuments during WML. Thanks for the head's up! SeoMac (talk) 04:50, 16 September 2016 (UTC)
