Better source request for File:Cypecore Identity.jpg

Thanks for your upload to Wikipedia:

You provided a source, but it is difficult for other users to examine the copyright status of the image because the source is incomplete or generic. Please consider clarifying the exact source so that the copyright status may be checked more easily. It is best to specify the exact source (such as the web page, or printed document) where you found the image, rather than only giving the source domain, search engine, pinboard, aggregator, or the direct/bare URL of the image file itself. Please update the image description with a URL that will be more helpful to other users in determining the copyright status.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source in a complete manner. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. If you have any questions please ask them at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you. — Ирука13 15:01, 26 December 2025 (UTC)

Minor edits

Could you please mark edits like "use american english" as minor, so I don't have to wade through them all in my watchlist? Thanks! - DavidWBrooks (talk) 23:30, 13 January 2026 (UTC)

Good suggestion, I'll do that. Thanks. Staryu 23:32, 13 January 2026 (UTC)

Please don't do high numbers of edits per state per day

In the future, please don't do high numbers of edits in a short period of time per state per day, because editors can only see up to 1000 edits in project history and 1000 edits in generalized watchlist history. To be on the safe side, editors probably shouldn't do more than about 450 per day maximum. 450/day would create 900 edits in 2 days, and provide a 100 edit buffer. I'm not sure if such a rule exists, but if it doesn't then someone may ask for such a rule to be created. Thanks in advance. • SbmeirowTalk • 04:21, 14 January 2026 (UTC)

Noted, and not a problem. I'll space out my efforts over the next few days. Staryu 04:25, 14 January 2026 (UTC)
Hello, could you make Nettspend's Early Life Crisis image free to use on all articles relating to Nettspend and his songs? I recently created a page for "Masked Up" and I was hoping to use it on the article, if you could do that, it would be great. Sorry for responding here, I forgot how to respond separately. Use American English?

A bunch of missouri townships articles I have worked on now have the Use American English template because you added it. Why did you add it and what flagged you to add it. What needs to change about? What is not American English? Thanks. SamuelNelsonGISP (talk) 09:01, 17 January 2026 (UTC)

Template:Use American English specifies that the article should be written in the American variety of English (as opposed to British, Canadian, etc.) if it has strong ties to the United States or was already written in that variety. The template is already present on the vast majority of articles for locations in the United States. I'm just adding it to the remaining ones, so nothing needs to be changed. Staryu 09:07, 17 January 2026 (UTC)
So it's a template added to American articles to inform future editors of the English variety to use, not a corrective template suggested an improvement or problem with the article. I see… SamuelNelsonGISP (talk) 10:28, 17 January 2026 (UTC)

Autopatrolled granted

Hi Staryu, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the autopatrolled user right to your account. This means that pages you create will automatically be marked as 'reviewed', and no longer appear in the new pages feed. Autopatrolled is assigned to prolific creators of articles, where those articles do not require further review, and may have been requested on your behalf by someone else. It doesn't affect how you edit; it is used only to manage the workload of new page patrollers.

Since the articles you create will no longer be systematically reviewed by other editors, it is important that you maintain the high standard you have achieved so far in all your future creations. Please also try to remember to add relevant WikiProject templates, stub tags, categories, and incoming links to them, if you aren't already in the habit; user scripts such as Rater and StubSorter can help with this. As you have already shown that you have a strong grasp of Wikipedia's core content policies, you might also consider volunteering to become a new page patroller yourself, helping to uphold the project's standards and encourage other good faith article writers.

Feel free to leave me a message if you have any questions. Happy editing! HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 18:30, 20 January 2026 (UTC)

DYK for Hitler Masturbating

On 15 February 2026, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Hitler Masturbating, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Salvador Dalí transformed a painting of horses into Hitler Masturbating? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Hitler Masturbating. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Hitler Masturbating), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to nominate it.

Hook update
Your hook reached 12,262 views (1,021.8 per hour), making it one of the most viewed hooks of February 2026 – nice work!

Springfield station (1839–1851)

Nice work on Springfield station (1839–1851). Would you have any objecting to merging it into Springfield Union Station (Massachusetts)? Typically, it's best to keep all the history of a station location in a single article – see Joseph Scelsi Intermodal Transportation Center and Union Station (Burlington, Vermont) for some comparable examples I've worked on. Thanks, Pi.1415926535 (talk) 20:55, 17 February 2026 (UTC)

I have no objection to it. The only reason I hadn't placed it there was because it wasn't technically "Springfield Union Station", but seeing as it was at the same location, that was overly semantical on my part. Staryu 21:01, 17 February 2026 (UTC)
Thanks, I'll go ahead and merge it. I'm impressed you found that much sourcing; it's often very hard to find much information on those first-generation stations even in major cities. Pi.1415926535 (talk) 21:18, 17 February 2026 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of File:VermilyeFarm.png

A tag has been placed on File:VermilyeFarm.png requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a non-free file from a commercial source (e.g. Associated Press, Getty Images), where the file itself is not the subject of sourced commentary. If you can explain why the file can be used under the non-free content guidelines, please add the appropriate non-free use tag and rationale.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. tjd (he) T/C 03:09, 4 March 2026 (UTC)

Pokemon dates

Hi Staryu. You reverted my edits with a note that says, "Use dmy dates" is specified. I was going by what was written at Template:Video game release. Which does not specify date format and the examples are mdy. So now I'm confused! :) Where are dmy dates specified?

I think we should update the guidance on that template if MOS or something overrules here. For a little context, the whole reason I made these edits was after looking at the article for Pokémon Gold and Silver and Pokémon Scarlet and Violet among other Pokemon articles and noticing this discrepancy. Cheers. Ckoerner (talk) 17:06, 11 March 2026 (UTC)

There are maintenance templates specifying the date format at the top of the articles you changed them on, e.g., "Use dmy dates|date=August 2019" on FireRed and LeafGreen. The format specified there is to be used across the entirety of the article. Gold and Silver uses mdy, but the others use dmy. In a case where the video game release template is being used on a dmy article, |df=yes should be added at the end of it. Staryu 20:41, 11 March 2026 (UTC)
Ok, that’s helpful. Those maintenance templates are easy to miss! Thanks. Do you know why some use mdy and others dmy? Ckoerner (talk) 03:28, 13 March 2026 (UTC)
