Templates
Added templates in three sections of the article as it isn't written very objectively or in formal tone. It also repeats information repeatedly, especially when it comes to how the games were received, and over uses the words "critically acclaimed". So please don't remove them till they have been sorted out. - Jak Fisher (talk • contribs) 21:08, 4 January, 2012 (UTC)
Request for Protection...For a third time
As soon as the page is unprotected the same IP is back vandalising Activisions ownership again. It is just plain annoying at this stage. Thanks. Jak Fisher (talk) 14:55, 11 June, 2013 (UTC)
Merge proposal

- The result of this discussion was consensus to merge.
I propose merging List of Crash Bandicoot characters into Crash Bandicoot. Apart from Crash and Cortex, the collective cast simply isn't notable enough to justify a separate page. The "Characters and setting" section I just finished adequately covers the series' noteworthy characters, with the connected sources being just about the biggest coverage they'll reasonably get. Cat's Tuxedo (talk) 11:58, 11 December 2025 (UTC)
- Support Outside of Coco, Tawna, and Aku Aku, I feel like everyone else without an article in the series is not that noteworthy, and in my time, I've never really osmosed anything suggesting that Crash Bandicoot characters get a lot of collective reception about them (which isn't surprising for a series whose cast doesn't have too much depth). - Cukie Gherkin (talk) 12:57, 12 December 2025 (UTC)
- Support per nom and Cukie. The current section is more than adequate for covering the major characters in this case. Magneton Considerer: Pokelego999 (Talk) (Contribs) 05:43, 24 December 2025 (UTC)
- Support per the above.--Kung Fu Man (talk) 13:51, 31 December 2025 (UTC)
- Cat's Tuxedo, if you think the main article already covers everything needed, it sounds like you're proposing a WP:BLAR. That's an option, but it would be good to know what the end result would look like. Thebiguglyalien (talk) 🛸 01:21, 3 January 2026 (UTC)
- Yeah, that seems pretty accurate to me. Cat's Tuxedo (talk) 03:18, 3 January 2026 (UTC)

GA criteria
Last updated: 18:05, 22 February 2026 (UTC) by NovemBot
See what the criteria are and what they are not
1) Well-written
1a) the prose is clear, concise, and understandable to an appropriately broad audience; spelling and grammar are correct
1b) it complies with the Manual of Style guidelines for lead sections, layout, words to watch, fiction, and list incorporation
2) Verifiable with no original research, as shown by a source spot-check
2a) it contains a list of all references (sources of information), presented in accordance with the layout style guideline
2b) reliable sources are cited inline. All content that could reasonably be challenged, except for plot summaries and that which summarizes cited content elsewhere in the article, must be cited no later than the end of the paragraph (or line if the content is not in prose)
2c) it contains no original research
2d) it contains no copyright violations or plagiarism
- According to Earwig, there is a 16.7% similarity.
3) Broad in its coverage
3a) it addresses the main aspects of the topic
3b) it stays focused on the topic without going into unnecessary detail (see summary style)
4) Neutral:
4) Neutral: it represents viewpoints fairly and without editorial bias, giving due weight to each
5) Stable:
5) Stable: it does not change significantly from day to day because of an ongoing edit war or content dispute
6) Illustrated, if possible, by media such as images, video, or audio
6a) media are tagged with their copyright statuses, and valid non-free use rationales are provided for non-free content
6b) media are relevant to the topic, and have suitable captions
Overall:

Notes
I've been taking some notes so far, but I want it to be known that the page looks to be in great shape. Before I review the finer details though, there are a few things I would suggest adding so this article can be as complete as possible.
- In the other media section, this source mentions that a Crash Bandicoot film adaptation was suggested back in the 1990s, but didn't end up going anywhere.
- I really like the reception section, and I think it accurately conveys the general consensus on each game in the series. That being said, I think one thing that could be added is emphasis on the first few games and some of the recent games being considered the best in the series by mentioning consensus from "x best games of all time" lists. I've done some basic research for the original PlayStation titles and found some reliable sources that could be used to add information about the series "at its best". It also makes sense to include this to emphasize the legacy of the best games in the series.

- https://retrododo.com/best-crash-bandicoot-games/ - Warped as the best, Boom Bang! as the worst. Supports claims of the original and recent games being well-received.
- While a very comprehensive article on the series, I noticed this article does not mention one Crash game, that being Crash Bandicoot: Mutant Island. I don't think it is notable enough to receive its own article, however, I believe it should be mentioned somewhere. It is fairly obscure, and there aren't many reliable reviews either, so I don't think it needs to be included in the reception (also it is a mobile game so it wouldn't be in the infobox either way). Here are some sources for that game, though you don’t need to go too in-depth. 1, 2, 3. There’s also an interview, but I’m not sure of its reliability or importance for its inclusion - 4

Prose
The writing present is generally very strong, so here are some things that caught my attention.
Lead:
- "and positioned the character as the PlayStation's unofficial mascot." Label as "the PlayStation console's unofficial mascot", as some people may not know the difference initially.
- Remove the word "eventually" from "eventually Activision".
- Commercial performance states it sold over 40 million units, while the lead says it sold over 50 million units. Which is correct?
History:
- Link "bandicoot" in the origins.
- "During the game's alpha phase" may be a bit technical. Would you be able to elaborate or transition the sentence so it flows from talking about the character to the game itself?
- Denote the developer or publisher of Crash Bandicoot: Mutant Island.
- Link the first instance of the PlayStation console, or mention it earlier, given that it has a sub-heading named after it.
Gameplay:
- "Crash's primary maneuvers including jumping and sliding." Change to "
Crash's primary maneuvers include jumping and sliding.
" - The first instance of the link for life (video games) should appear at "Dying in a Bonus area will not deplete a life".
- Link combo (video games).
- "Some crates are reinforced, requiring Crash to use a stronger technique to break them." Elaborate slightly by changing to
Some crates are reinforced, requiring Crash to use a stronger technique such as body slamming to break them.
"
Setting and characters:
- Remove " - allgame" from the title in ref. 130.
Reception and impact:
- I would suggest that all GameRankings reviews should be updated and included in the table. Otherwise, be sure to add "—" for items with no data.
- For Crash Team Racing, I think it could be distinguished that the game "surpassed its inspirations Mario Kart and Diddy Kong Racing
in some aspects
", as it wasn't universally believed that it was better in every regard. - Generally, I believe it is fine to cite 4-5 references in a row as a maximum before combining them, but I don't know what other people's opinion on this would be.
- Change "selling over 20 million" to "
sold over 20 million
". - I don't deny the claim that Crash Bandicoot is a Western franchise that performed well in Japan, and it is probably implied by the two sales examples, but could there be a source that claims something similar to this?
- @Z-Gamer Guys: All points have been addressed. Cat's Tuxedo (talk) 04:44, 18 February 2026 (UTC)
- After checking many of the sources, particularly for accurate release dates and other information, I can confirm that have very few issues with verifiability. I did catch two things. In the Gameplay section, I didn't find either Ref. 81 or Ref. 85 mention "beat 'em up combat" specifically, although they did mention combat mechanics in general. Also in the Gameplay section, Ref. 78 refers to one of the vehicles as a "jet ski" and not a "jetboard", though I am not immediately aware of their differences. Otherwise, Ref. 46 is the only link I found an issue with, as it always redirects to the Pocket Gamer main homepage. After implementing these changes, this will most certainly receive an enthusiastic pass from me! - Z-Gamer Guys (talk) 05:32, 18 February 2026 (UTC)
