Is the lead image implying that HK & Macau are “colonies” of China?

Turkey

The color of Turkey in the first map is apparently missing. You may want to paint it in dark blue  Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.230.131.236 (talk) 08:51, 5 August 2025 (UTC)

Naturally, for some bizarre reason the map is actually "Age of Government", that is "Countries by date of independence or current constitution (whichever is more recent)". Remsense 🌈  09:22, 5 August 2025 (UTC)
