- Comment: There could be so many more hooks written about Skip Thomas. Dr. Death is interchangeable with Skip Thomas in these hooks, and vice versa.

Overall:
Looks good. Nice work. The featured hook should mention his nickname in some way, as that is one of the best NFL nicknames I've heard. One potential option could be a simplified version of the initial hook, something like "... that Dr. Death played strip poker?" The promoter can choose which hook to feature. BeanieFan11 (talk) 22:21, 2 December 2025 (UTC)
- @BeanieFan11 and The Robot Parade: I've been eyeing up the also recently-5x expanded Ludwig Minelli with the intention of driveby nominating it for a few days now. He also had the nickname Dr. Death. Fancy making this a double hook such as ALT3: ... that an NFL player and a human rights lawyer both had the nickname "Dr. Death"? I can handle the QPQ.--Launchballer 11:06, 3 December 2025 (UTC)
- @Launchballer: I'm not opposed to the suggestion! As nominator, I think the proposed double hook could absolutely work. What's ironic is through my research I found another Dr. Death, a UCLA footballer named Oscar Edwards, who seems to have enough coverage to meet WP:GNG. So another Dr. Death DYK nomination may be on the way, haha. --The Robot Parade 14:59, 3 December 2025 (UTC)
- Alright, I've added credits for Minelli; my QPQ is Mustarjil. That will need a review (perhaps by BeanieFan11); let me know if you write Edwards' article.--Launchballer 15:41, 3 December 2025 (UTC)
- @Launchballer: I've submitted Draft:Oscar Edwards for review. If its approved in time, it can be nominated as another article for an ALT 4 hook. --The Robot Parade 23:57, 5 December 2025 (UTC)
I guess I should call for a reviewer properly.--Launchballer 09:10, 5 December 2025 (UTC)
- @The Robot Parade: You probably saw that Edwards was accepted. I suggest that we go with ALT4: ... that a NFL player who played strip poker with nurses, a human rights lawyer who founded a notorious Swiss clinic, and a UCLA footballer who recently denounced his old playing style all had the nickname Dr. Death? (a gentle reminder to any reviewers that for articles with multiple boldlinks, text in boldlinks after the first do not count toward the limit). Who's handling the QPQ?--Launchballer 16:07, 6 December 2025 (UTC)
- @Launchballer: I've done the QPQ, Template:Did you know nominations/Trieste riots. Also, I recommend the following two alt blurbs for the promoters consideration. ALT5 is for the sake of conciseness, while ALT6 gives an alternative fact for Edwards.
Alright, review needed for the other two articles and the hooks.--Launchballer 17:44, 6 December 2025 (UTC)
- I'll take it from here. ミラP@Miraclepine 23:00, 6 December 2025 (UTC)

- The Tages-Anzeiger ref is paywalled so we need a quote for this (headlines are not RS). Edwards is verified though.
- Interesting:

Overall:
Skip Thomas is already reviewed, so this is about Minnelli and Edwards. Edwards was approved at AFC today UTC and prose is 5116 B. Minelli expanded from 565 B to 5216 B in the last seven days, before being trimmed to 4974 B. Minelli was in ITN, but only as a recent death. Prefer ALT5 due to brevity, though CEO should be replaced with "businessman" for the same reason. Not much issues found outside of minor issues. @The Robot Parade: fix the issue and you're good to go. ミラP@Miraclepine 03:06, 7 December 2025 (UTC)
- I can give you an archived version of the source.--Launchballer 15:02, 8 December 2025 (UTC)
- Just checked that,
good to go! ミラP@Miraclepine 16:02, 8 December 2025 (UTC)
- One more ALT (all the facts are already approved, so this is for the promoter): ALT7: ... that an NFL player who played strip poker with nurses, a human rights lawyer who founded a notorious Swiss clinic, and a businessman who recently denounced his old football playing style all had the nickname Dr. Death?--Launchballer 02:47, 21 December 2025 (UTC)
