Typo fix
There's a typo in the "future" section regarding a SSBU sequel, literally just needs an "a" in it. Just give it a quick read and you'll see it. 2001:569:5182:2600:61BF:BC0A:4B7D:AACB (talk) 04:20, 25 May 2022 (UTC)
Isn’t Smash kind of a beat-‘em-up game, too?
The page suggests Smash belongs solely in the “fighting” genre because players can play against other players.
However, the game allows me to play against CPU-guided characters in addition to other players, so Smash is a mix between a fighting game and a beat-‘em-up game. 140.82.181.174 (talk) 04:34, 27 August 2022 (UTC)
- I would say no, almost every single fighting game on the planet lets you fight against CPU. Club On a Sub 20 (talk) 17:03, 20 January 2023 (UTC)
Fangames section
Should there be a subsection focused on Smash-related fangames? We already link to three in the SSB template (Project M, Super Smash Flash, and Super Smash Land), and there are others for which coverage in multiple reliable sources exists, such as Smash Remix. Should we have a space for these on the main series page in the same way we do for esports, provided sufficient notability can be established for any new entries? -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 09:09, 29 December 2022 (UTC)
Sakurai has made a statement there likely won’t be another game without his involvement
This gives a hint that Sakurai might still be involved with Nintendo during the Switch’s successor, despite being semi-retired. 2600:6C50:93F:4B1C:DC45:BDD6:AB7D:6CE8 (talk) 19:18, 7 August 2023 (UTC)

The article has a lot of unsourced statements and 2 active orange banners. 🍕BP!🍕 (🔔) 23:53, 14 February 2025 (UTC)

- The §Reception section still contains (by my count) direct quotations from ten different reviews which do not have a suitable inline citation as required by WP:V. Unless these are added this should be delisted. Caeciliusinhorto-public (talk) 12:14, 27 March 2025 (UTC)

Currently, a random phrase on the "Conception and first game" subsection says: "While both proposals were praised by Nintendo, HAL Laboratory was currently developing several other games for the Nintendo 64, including Mother 3, and was unable begin full development on either prototype."
Here's my propsoed change, to fit with MOS:GRAMMAR (bold text depicts what data should be added): "While both proposals were praised by Nintendo, HAL Laboratory was currently developing several other games for the Nintendo 64, including Mother 3, and was unable to begin full development on either prototypes.
I also proposed that Mother 3 be linked to EarthBound 64 as it was during the SSB release. ~2025-40346-02 (talk) 18:21, 3 January 2026 (UTC)
Partly done: I changed the link target and added the missing "to". It would not be grammatically correct to change "prototype" to "prototypes". Day Creature (talk) 18:36, 3 January 2026 (UTC)

Change "Super Smash Bros. Melee was released for the GameCube on November 21, 2001, in Japan, and on December 3, 2001, in North America." in the 1999-2001 heading to "Super Smash Bros. Melee was released for the GameCube on November 21, 2001, in Japan, on December 3, 2001, in North America and in PAL regions in May 2002." Earthylumaaa (talk) 23:18, 12 January 2026 (UTC)
Not done: please provide reliable sources that support the change you want made. Day Creature (talk) 15:45, 13 January 2026 (UTC)
