Speedy deletion of Enturbulation.org

A tag has been placed on Enturbulation.org requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for web content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. roleplayer 22:59, 16 November 2008 (UTC)

November 2010 Backlog Elimination Drive Conclusion

Greetings from the Guild of Copy Editors Backlog Elimination Drive!

We have reached the end of our fourth backlog elimination drive. Thanks to all who participated.

Stats

GOCE November 2010 backlog elimination drive graphs
  • 58 people signed up for this drive. Of these, 48 people participated in the drive.
  • Although we did not eliminate the months we planned to (January, February, and March 2009; and August, September, and October 2010), we did reduce the backlog by 627 articles (11.2%), which was over our goal of 10%.
  • 49 awards will go out to 33 of 48 participants. Check out the complete list of barnstar winners here.

Barnstars

If you copy edited at least 4,000 words, you qualify for a barnstar. If you participated in the September 2010 backlog elimination drive, you may have earned roll-over words (more details can be found here). These roll-over words count as credit towards earning barnstars, except for leaderboard awards. We will be delivering these barnstars within the next couple of weeks.

Our next drive is scheduled for January 2011. In the meantime, please consider helping out at the Wikification drive or any of the other places where help with backlogs is needed.

Thank you for participating in the last 2010 backlog elimination drive! We look forward to seeing you in January!

Hi. On behalf of the Guild of Copy Editors, I am inviting you to sign up for our March Backlog Elimination Drive. Win a barnstar! It's fun. --Diannaa (Talk) 01:47, 28 February 2011 (UTC)

Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being 'minor'. The only thing that's changed is that you will no longer have them marked as minor by default.

For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. If you are familiar with the contents of WP:MINOR, and believe that it is still beneficial to the encyclopedia to have all your edits marked as such by default, then this discussion will give you the details you need to continue with this functionality indefinitely. If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.

Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 20:12, 14 March 2011 (UTC)

A cup of tea for you!

Before being driven mad by copyediting :). Cheers, and keep up the good work. Lectonar (talk) 12:03, 30 April 2013 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Agave, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Navajo (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ  Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Electron stimulated luminescence may have broken the syntax by modifying 2 "[]"s. If you have, don't worry, just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

Thanks, BracketBot (talk) 08:30, 19 May 2013 (UTC)

Captinfabulous

Busy little stinker, aren't they... :) I reported them on the Vandalism Noticeboard. --Scalhotrod (Talk) ☮ღ☺ 19:32, 8 January 2015 (UTC)

Ha, yeah. I've been more 'turn the other cheek' and 'WP:AGF' than you've been, but we've been sitting here pushing the same red button.
I'm trying to be more that way, but when I see repeated and conscientious vandal edits (it was different names added each time, that took effort) I turn to the Noticeboards. Cap was making edits so fast, I barely had time to post a warning before they hit 5 edits, but they made it to 6!. Best regards, --Scalhotrod (Talk) ☮ღ☺ 19:44, 8 January 2015 (UTC)

List of gangs in the United States

Hello Anon423, I saw your message on my talk page. According to the page rules, the gangs listed should have articles. Also gangs have to be notable according to the page rules. Almighty Saints is mix race gang, but is mostly a Latino gang. In my opinion, I don't think it should be listed because the page has already to many Latino gangs. I really like what you did by adding references. That should be a new rule. ----- BlueRedPurpleGreen (talk) 2:46, 9 January 2015 (UTC)

Alright, so I went ahead and put the Almighty Saints in the Hispanic/Latin section. They seem to be rather notable enough - they have their own page. And what is such a thing as too many Latino gangs? I don't know why it should be a consideration to limit how many gangs to list in each ethnic section: As I understand this page, whatever notable gangs exist, should go in the box. Some of the sections are long; some of them have only a few. If you think there should be a cap, by all means make a case. I say we just let them lie. I mean, how was this page put together? I don't think it came from any one definitive source. The most comprehensive single list I found was in my second reference, though it was immensely long and did not distinguish much about notability, and still was missing a whole bunch of them. --Anon423 (talk) 03:09, 9 January 2015 (UTC)
