Hiya. I noticed your questions and comments at Wikipedia:Help desk and wanted to express my feelings on the matter. You have created what looks to me to be a fine article. The reviewer seems to have dismissed it out of hand with no good cause. Unfortunately, Wikipedia's greatest strength is also one of it's greatest weaknesses. Since almost all the work is done by (what we call) volunteers, there is wide scope for errors. The Wisdom of Crowds is alive and kicking here, but if one magnifies pockets of activity, one is sure (given that enough pockets are magnified) to find miscarriages and injustices. There are after all, nearly 4 million articles and hundreds of thousands of editors. Whether the error in this case was one in a trend the reviewer might need to be advised about, is something I hope an administrator takes a close look at. I'm personally appalled that the article you created was so flippantly rejected (as I'm sure a great number of other editors here would be) (it's far better than many established articles, and clearly well referenced and about an obviously notable man). However, please understand that most of us care a little more, and try a little harder. Like you, we are doing our best to create an Encyclopedia, not (so it seems by reading the reviewers user page) make a name for ourselves.

I strongly disagree with your assessment of my article. My article cites 12 published sources in reputable journals and reference works. I constantly see Wikipedia articles of far less substance with far fewer cited sources. I realize this is an autobiographical piece, but if I've published enough to have an article about me in Contemporary Authors, I there should be room for me in Wikipedia.

I didn't intend to post a new article. I thought I was reposting an edited version of the first article I submitted.

As I admit up front, this is an autobiographical article. I'm sure there are plenty of these on Wikipedia, especially if you count people who write their own article and get someone else to post it for them. Easy enough for anyone to do.

The first editor, rangerruss, said that my article needed citations to impartial sources. My article has twelve citations to impartial sources, which is a lot more than many articles I read on Wikipedia. It's frustrating that I see articles on Wikipedia with one or two sources about individuals who have accomplished much less than I have, yet my article is rejected.

No, I'm not Ernest Hemingway and I'm not the Librarian of Congress, but as an author and as a librarian I have made significant contributions.

I'm completely confused as to what is going on. THe comments relate to an older version of the article that I withdrew from consideration months ago. I recently drafted and asked for review on a newer version of the article that addresses the issues raised about the older version of the article.

I understood this page to be the sandbox where I was supposed to create a draft article. I'm getting lots of contradictory information about what goes where and how to do things on Wikipedia. I've created a few Wikipedia pages in the past, but I've never encountered so many roadblocks. It is very frustrating.
