The article already has enough citations (more than 100) and only a small section of it isn't cited. Therefore, the maintenance template only needs to be shown on the particular section instead of the whole article. Feather&Martin (talk) 21:05, 17 February 2026 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, articles should not be moved, as you did to Benin Airport, without good reason. They should have a name that is both accurate and intuitive. Wikipedia has some guidelines in place to help with this. Generally, a page should only be moved to a new title if the current name does not follow these guidelines. Also, if a page move is being discussed, consensus needs to be reached before anybody moves the page. If you would like to experiment with page titles and moving, please use the test Wikipedia. That is correct - a user deleted content that was unsourced. Indeed if you look at what you restored, you even restored the {{unsourced section}} maintenance tag from February 2024. I don't know why this isn't getting through to you - you cannot add, restore or alter content without a reliable source. You're now on a level 4 warning because you keep doing it - I don't want it to go further, but if you continue adding unsourced content there aren't any more warning levels - the next level is another ANI thread. The original text was unsourced. It was removed for being unsourced. If unsourced material it removed it may NOT be reinstated without a reference being supplied that supports all of it. Reinstatement of unsourced material is considered disruptive editing. Additionally you've reinstated them again, most of which is not sourced. Even the ones you have sourced, the majority of the references actually support the route NOT existing as the cargo is transferred. Because there isn't an official aerodrome chart from DRC eAIP of Mbuji Mayi Airport, I checked its satellite image on Google Maps and the runway end was extended and even the colour of the asphalt was different. That's original research on your behalf, you can't do it that way. There were sources in the article which clearly states what the length of the runway is, you changed contrary to what all the references said. You cannot do that. Move articles? I haven't been moving articles for a while and I only open move requests. How do I overlink articles? All the links I add are based on other standard articles. For a few edits I take them directly from other articles and sometimes not with source. And I wonder why I tag incorrectly?I rarely add tags and this should not be one of the reasons. Although I sometimes forget previewing my edit but almost always edit it back. At least this should NOT be an indefinite ban and I don't know what triggered this block. I think I know what triggered it. To be completely blunt, a very quick scan of this talk page shows a disturbing pattern of one warning after another since February (including several "final" warnings), with you always saying "sorry, I won't again", and then almost immediately repeating the disruption. Even after my final warning and our discussion, it seems you just kept going without changing your editing pattern. I think you should take some time to sit down and read all of the discussions above (as well as the actual policy/guideline pages linked within the warnings) and then ask yourself again if you still don't understand why we can't have people making disruptive edits and ignoring the rules while the rest of us work together to build an encyclopedia. I think if you are able to explain that you understand what you did wrong, why it was wrong, and what you are going to do to change your editing patterns, as well as a genuine statement that you will start following the rules (and accept that you will be blocked again if you don't), that would be a good first step in having a chance to be allowed to edit again. Yes sometimes I edit very swiftly so that I don't even check what it looks like. Normally it is ok, but occationally it has typos or might even break the page and dear you, Danners430 remind me and revert it, and Canterbury Tail giving me warnings, which I appreciate, but normally while performing large edits I do use the preview button and am really normal. Sometimes I really don't add sources when the information is taken from another article has, but I will try to do so. But you cannot rely on others cleaning up after you, as you have just described. As a Wikipedia editor you have to take responsibility for your own edits and not be, as CT put it, a net negative - ie a timesink. If editors are spending more time cleaning up after you fixing your mistakes than they are making other constructive edits, then that's a net negative. Put simply, you've had plenty of time to read our policies and guidelines, been made aware of them numerous times, and yet still haven't quite grasped the problems. After looking at my talk page history, I was warned mostly for adding unsourced content, mainly due to those content was taken directly from another page, and some did not have sources and I assumed those are true so I did not add sources either, e.g. the destination list of Nnami Azikiwe International Airport, annual statistics from List of the busiest airports in Poland. Also, sometimes I don't use the preview button, so the page either breaks or contains typos, but those cases are really rare. I was previously blocked for copyvio, which, after reading the related policies, I never did again.

Transfer sources as well when borrowing from other articles, and use the preview button. Basically, fixing the problems I am blocked on.

Modibo Keita International Airport (IATA: BKO, ICAO: GABS), formerly Bamako–Sénou International Airport, is an international airport serving Bamako, the capital of Mali. It is located approximately 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) south of Bamako city center. It is one of the two international airports in the country, the other one being Gao International Airport. It is operated by Aéroports du Mali.^[1] Its operations are overseen by the Malian Ministry of Equipment and Transport.^[2]

Modibo Keita International Airport was opened to traffic in 1974. The airport was upgraded between 2007 and 2012 in a US$181 million project funded by the Millennium Challenge Corporation, a United States foreign aid agency, with a new 15,600 square metres (167,917 sq ft) terminal build and its runway extended by 494 metres (1,621 feet), increasing the airport's capacity to 1.5 million passengers annually and allowing it to handle aircrafts as large as the Boeing 747.^[3][4][5]

The airport was renamed on December 31, 2015, to honour the first president of Mali, Modibo Keïta.

The airport is adjacent to Air Base 101, which is used by the Malian Air Force.^[6]

On 17 September 2024, the airport was stormed by Jama'at Nusrat al-Islam wal Muslimin militants as part of a series of coordinated attacks across multiple locations in Bamako.^[7] The JNIM claimed to have destroyed aircraft and opened fire at the presidential hangar. An aircraft used for humanitarian work by the World Food Programme was also damaged.^[8] The airport was attacked by JNIM again on 25 April 2026 as part of a larger offensive.^[9]

Passenger traffic steadily increased in the early 2000s. Government figures show 403,380 passengers in 1999, 423,506 in 2003, 486,526 in 2004, and 516,000 in 2005. In 2006 it was predicted to reach over 900,000 by 2015 under a low (4%) yearly growth rate scenario.^[1]

Total air traffic at BKO increased by 12.4% in 2007 and 14% in 2008. Most of this increase came in passenger transport, with the number of passengers served increasing by 20% in 2007 and 17% in 2008. Twenty-seven airline carriers operated weekly or better at BKO in the 2007–2008 period. This continued growth was offset by cargo flights' decline of 16.75% in 2007, and 3.93% in 2008.^[2]

In the first nine months of 2024, the airport recorded 629,720 passengers, despite a decrease year-on-year.^[10]
