When I registered on Wikipedia, the system allowed me to use that username. There is no commercial intention but to contribute my take on tours made in the Holy Land and adding pictures of beautiful places.

I have also fixed the references and added the image you placed a link to, I suggest more sources are needed which should be fine, especially referring to a colony and historical site. Could you also fix up the references to the book, you can cite a book and instead of putting the page numbers in the references section you can just put the numbers within the citation. As you can see from this link, Walhalla is typed in red color because there are not many records on this colony, even on Wikipedia. German Templer colonies in Palestine. Since I believe that it is one of the important colonies that have been renovated to its previous glory, as you probably seen on the many pictures on Wikimedia, I decided that it is worthwhile to check any information on this colony and publish it. There are external links in other languages and also from Tour Guided sites but since it is promotion of business, I have not mentioned it.

If I see further sites with information on this colony I will add it later on.

I can't implement this change on the article, it has WP:NPOV issues, for example such a special unit is guaranteed a place in our history is written from a particular point of view, please see WP:WIKIVOICE. You would have to establish WP:CONSENSUS for the change, which is difficult to do before you're XC. Hi, I noticed that you changed the founding date of Walhalla to 1906. Glenk, From Desert Sands to Golden Oranges, says 1888. Goldman, The Architecture of the Templers..., says 1889. I also see "Sarona und Walhalla" in this newspaper article of 1903. Incidentally, the newspaper "Die Warte des Tempels" from 1861 to 1939 can be found here and probably has a lot that you can use. The OCR is poor so you might need to search for multiple keywords to find something. Zero^talk 11:04, 12 March 2026 (UTC)

Below is what he writes in page 229:

"The Walhalla cluster was started with the Franz Lorenz House (1895). The land was bought in the late 1880s, but most of the houses of the cluster were built in the early 1900s.470 A prominent feature of Walhalla is the urban character of its houses, perhaps expressing the wide range of occupations of its inhabitants,471 none of whom farmed, because by the time this land was bought, no farm lands were available.472"

So I believe that there is no accurate date for the colony.1903 is more or less mentioned in several places as you also pointed out.

Hi, Meinertzhagen is notoriously unreliable as a source and you shouldn't use him. I recommend Garfield's book "The Meinertzhagen Mystery: The Life and Legend of a Colossal Fraud." as an antidote. Zero^talk 01:40, 14 March 2026 (UTC)

Yes, I read that Garfield described Meinertzhagen as a fraud. He had many enemies because he did not agree with their policies. Since he's not alive anymore, he cannot defend himself against these libels. Each person should reach conclusions about historical issues by reading many sources. Read Garfield. You will change your mind due to his copious evidence. Garfield proves that many of the claims Meinertzhagen made were impossible or done by someone else. Moreover, Garfield is only the loudest of many who have come to the same conclusion. Garfield's finding that many of M's collection of birds were stolen from museums was already well known in the ornithological community. This review of a bird book I don't have says that the book "helped lead to the unraveling of the greatest ornithological fraud ever committed". The reliability of his diary entries has been disputed multiple times. Lockman, Meinertzhagen's Diary Ruse shows that Meinertzhagen's entries on T.E. Lawrence are fake. Cocker, Richard Meinertzhagen, Soldier, Scientist and Spy says that M edited, updated and rewrote his diaries whenever he felt like it. Much earlier, the Palin Commission into the 1920 riots wrote of his evidence, "It is not really necessary to analyse Colonel Meinertzhagen's evidence to disclose the contradictions in which he has involved himself." And so on, there is plenty more. Finally, it isn't our opinions that matter, because a source with so many detractors that present evidence fails the requirements for citation. Don't use it. Do you even read the article you are editing? It's about a 9th/10th-century Arabic book, which moreover deals with the agricultural theories of the Aramaic Nabataeans of Iraq, while you are adding text about archaeological projects relating to the actual agriculture of the ancient Arab Nabataeans (a completely different people from a completely different era).

This type of editing is disruptive. Please stop.

Avdat and Shivta are mentioned at Nabataeans#Archeological sites.
