Is there a way to cite different page numbers without duplicating the reference? Quoting Querying Questioner (talk) 01:49, 8 March 2026 (UTC)
There are a few different approaches, but the {{sfn}} or {{rp}} templates are good ways to specify page numbers when citing multi-page sources. To pick a few examples from the articles that I've written, Ada Cambridge uses sfn referencing and The Real Matilda uses rp referencing (see those little numbers next to each citation?). Just let me know if you have any questions about how to use them.
Specifying page numbers isn't required though, so I'll go ahead and accept your draft as soon as an administrator has cleared out the existing redirect to allow for the move :) MCE89 (talk) 06:45, 8 March 2026 (UTC)

Sorry I missed your question about references last time! (In the future, I'd recommend using {{re}} or an @ in the reply tool when replying to a message like these. AfC reviewers tend to leave a lot of these lying around.)
For citing more academic sources, a lot of people like to use the {{sfn}}/{{sfnp}} templates. Admittedly I haven't been in a position where I've actually had to use them myself, but I've seen this guide to sfnp passed around previously and I had made a mental note to refer back to it: User:SMcCandlish/How to use the sfnp family of templates.

I have been using {{rp}}, but I will read that page and try {{sfnp}}. I also had a question about article assessment. I recently did some work on De instructione principis, but I am not sure how the good article process works. Do you think it might be close to that level, or is there something I should do first? It looks pretty good to me, but I'm by no means a subject-matter expert. Part of the Good Article process is a review where changes can be made, so it doesn't need to be perfect as-of the nom, just no major issues that cause it to be "a long way away from" meeting any of the Good Article criteria. Peer review is also an option, but I've heard mixed things about that process compared to just doing a nomination and listening to reviewer feedback. Potentially worth noting that there's going to be a backlog drive scheduled for nominations by newer participants in June, so if you nominate it now you're likely to get a reviewer sooner rather than later.
You can also request copy-editing from the GOCE people, if you'd just like somebody to double-check your writing and potentially help with formatting issues after expansion - you can mention it's for a GA and your first GA. (I've definitely made some awful typos that I've become blind to myself when writing articles.) ScalarFactor (talk) 15:44, 9 May 2026 (UTC)

Good luck with the nom! One other thing that might be relevant is the source spotcheck - the reviewer should be asking for a random sample of a few of your sources to double check source-text integrity, copyright violations, etc. There's nothing wrong with offline sources/books of course, as they're generally more likely to be reliable anyways - but if the book isn't available online you may need to be able to take some picture(s) of the pages that back up the relevant citations. WP editors have access to a large amount of sources through WP:TWL, but if you were borrowing any of the sources from a university library or something you may want/need to make sure you can still access them. Llanthony Secunda Priory

Why did you move this page without discussion and without a reliable source for your changes? it appears as Llanthony priory in all the reliable sources I can find, including Historic England, English Heritage, various articles on the BBC website and the writings of Hugh Conway-Jones, who has published various histories of Gloucester and the docks. Also in formal documents published by Gloucester City Council. Murgatroyd49 (talk) 12:09, 28 June 2026 (UTC)

He nevertheless receives half a page of coverage in the History of Llanthony Priory and is treated in the other referenced sources, with further treatment in The Book Collections of Llanthony Priory from Foundation until Dissolution and Monastic Wales: New Approaches. I see. Well, Wikipedia does not like lifetime stubs so there's that. Mentioning what you said here in the article and also elaborating a bit on the things discussed in the article could help it pass though. For example, what does the "tenth prior of Llanthony Prima" mean, and where is Llanthony Prima.
