| By the authority vested in me by myself it gives me great pleasure to present you with this barnstar in recognition of your sterling work on War of Radagaisus, Gothic Revolt of Tribigild and Bagaudae Revolt. It is much appreciated. Gog the Mild (talk) 22:26, 12 December 2023 (UTC) |
- Thank you very much. Geoffrey F (talk) 17:34, 13 December 2023 (UTC)
Separately, I recently took Constantine III (Western Roman emperor) to featured article and Constans II to good article, so if you would like help taking Radagaisus or Bagaudae further, let me know. Gog the Mild (talk) 22:26, 12 December 2023 (UTC)
Burgundian Revolt of Gunther
Hi thanks for creating this article. When we translate or borrow from other language wikis it’s a requirement to acknowledge the source. The best way to do this is to include it in your edit summary (e.g. “translated from nl.wiki”) and there’s also a translation template you can add to the talk page. I’ve added it for you. Happy editing and please leave a message on my talk page if you need any help Mccapra (talk) 01:31, 15 December 2023 (UTC)
War of Radagaisus
Hello Geoffrey,
I just wanted to let you know that the article War of Radagaisus has a reference to a author called Drinkwater, however, the sources section is missing the source for this reference. SailingthroughHistory (talk) 14:16, 15 December 2023 (UTC)
- * Drinkwater, John F. (1998). "The usurpers Constantine III (407–411) and Jovinus (411–413)". Britannia. 29.
A barnstar for you!

| Thanks for all the articles you've created on decline-and-fall-of-Roman-Empire wars and associated conflicts. Obviously valuable and high-quality content. Keep up the good work. jengod (talk) 03:00, 15 February 2024 (UTC) |
- Thank you for your kind words. That makes me happy.--Geoffrey F (talk) 10:23, 15 February 2024 (UTC)
Non-attributed translations
Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you translated text from nl:Frankisch-Romeinse oorlog van 486 to Franco-Roman War of 486. While you are welcome to translate Wikipedia content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing requires that you provide attribution to the contributor(s) of the original article. When translating from a foreign-language Wikipedia article, this is supplied at a minimum in an edit summary on the page where you add translated content, identifying it as a translation and linking it to the source page. Sample wording for this is given here. If you forgot, or were not aware of this requirement, attribution must be given retroactively, for example:
NOTE: Content in the edit of 01:25, January 25, 2023 was translated from the existing French Wikipedia article at [[:fr:Exact name of French article]]; see its history for attribution.
Retroactive attribution may be added using a dummy edit; see Repairing insufficient attribution. It is good practice, especially if translation is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{translated page}} template on the talk page of the destination article. If you have added translated content previously which was not attributed at the time it was added, you must add attribution retrospectively, even if it was a long time ago. You can read more about author attribution and the reasons for it at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. JTtheOG (talk) 00:20, 28 June 2025 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Roman civiel war of 461

A tag has been placed on Roman civiel war of 461 requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section R3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a recently created redirect from an implausible typo or misnomer, or other unlikely search term.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Gothic revolt of Anaolsus
Your edits of this article have put it into Category:Harv and Sfn no-target errors. Your initial edits to this article had an automatic tag of Tag: harv or sfn error, that's because your sfn cites do not have proper complete or target references to link to. I can see these errors because I have a script installed on my common.js page. User:Trappist the monk/HarvErrors has a complete explanation of this script, how it works, and how to install it.
The references that are listed in the Bibliography section aren't in a form that the WP system understands. You need to convert your citations into a cite book format. For an example, take a look at the Gosh Yasht article. There are Sfn cites in that article that then link to the various complete sources in the Bibliography section. Good luck. - Shearonink (talk) 21:29, 31 July 2025 (UTC)
Using the family tree template
I've found the tree stay much more neat and stable if you keep all people in boxes which line up vertically with each other in "columns". So for example on your Gundioc tree I suggest lining up the children of Gundioc with the other generations and not having them in "overlapping" columns. What you get other wise can be very strange resizing of the boxes, and positioning of the connecting lines, whenever you change things in the tree. Andrew Lancaster (talk) 11:37, 16 November 2025 (UTC)
- The family tree could definitely be expanded. I think it would also be good if an article about this family were published. Thanks for the corrections.--Geoffrey F (talk) 16:31, 16 November 2025 (UTC)
- The Gibichungs is only a list of kings, maybe it can be expanded like other German families such as the Amals. A great family tree is in it.
- Be careful not to present speculations or legends as facts though.--Andrew Lancaster (talk) 17:20, 20 December 2025 (UTC)
- In my opinion, I did not do that either. Chlodio is half legendary with only one contemporary source and Gregory's story is oral tradition. And furthermore I had only modified that Chlodio operated at the time of Emperor Valentinian III.Geoffrey F (talk) 08:54, 21 December 2025 (UTC)
