That implies he also has US citizenship but I can see no evidence of this in your sources. It seems to me it would be safer to stick to Canadian or Canadian-born. @MumphingSquirrel:: Thanks for your interest. There's lots of stuff on Hermannn. I'll try to work on it a bit more today and bring it up to ORES GA. The ones still at C are Jeanne Guiot (ORES 2.96), Cornélie Lebon-de Brambilla (3.06), Geneviève Jourdain (3.15), Georgette Délibrias (3.24) and Simonne Caillère (3.68). Hermann is now at 3.64. As you probably know, to reach ORES GA they need to be close to 4.0. I've spent quite a bit of time on Caillère but cannot find much more. Perhaps there are reviews of her publications. Anything you can do to help things along would of course be appreciated. It would be great if we could bring all 72 up to ORES GA. I don't think I can remember any other project where there has been such interest in a large cluster of biographies. There are by the way still a few without photos. Some could no doubt be found in old newspapers but searches might be difficult and might require the help of interested librarians and archivists. The comments you mention came from Kqol. You can address the "fan" item by toning down the rather overenthusiastic level of language and making it more neutral. As for the "additional citations", it would be good to include details which have appeared in recognized newspapers. Some of the sources you have used appear to be closely associated with Bakare himself. Especially for living people, you should look for reliable independent sourses which cover the subject in some detail. See if you can address these points and let me know. Could you give me specific of examples of citations which need to be changed? Bakare's birthday while it seems to come from a promotional source, his school, is cited for his birth year and education, these are details seems like something his school would know. I can not find these details elsewhere as far as I have looked.

Because he is an Afro-Brit actor who starred mainly in a show set in the Caribbean, I am doubting whether or not he might fit Wikipedia's notions of notable. Hollywood trades would most likely not cover him, but other news organizations like Alt Africa, Radio Times, and The Guardian have. With that I feel he at least meets notability but not by American standards. Is this something we can work on to find a solution to find better sources which work for Wikipedia?

You were very helpful a few years ago when I did a small project to improve the coverage of women who had won the Skoll Award for Social Entrepreneurship. One of the subjects, Maryana Iskander, became CEO of Wikimedia Foundation not long after.

I'm coming back for a more intense round of work on social sector topics, including women and diverse social entrepreneurs. I wanted to check in with you as an expert on a draft to make sure I was still on the right page with the community as it has evolved in the last 6-8 years. I pushed a nonprofit article out a couple of months ago and ran into headwinds (still survived the AfD process) and want to minimize such challenges going forward.

Dear Ipigott, Thanks for the suggestion of an article on F. Gaspard. As she has a page in the French encyclopedia, I thought the citation/referencing would be easy but alas not! Most of the refs turned out to be vague or unreachable! So I have done a draft at User: Balance person/Francoise Gaspard (Sorry about the missing cedilla!) but it is not very good. Do you know much about her? I have had trouble finding good independent references. Anyway....if you had the time, could you possibly have a look? It needs a lot of work! 1. "Early life, education and career" section: Commonly, these are two headers, one being "Early life and education" and the other being "Career".
2. "Awards" section: Each award requires an inline citation or someone will come along and add {{citation needed|date=August 2026}} after each one that's missing it.
3. "Publications" section: Each book that has an isbn should include the isbn at the end of the line, e.g., {{isbn|1234567890}}. If the publication is not a book, but is an article, short story, etc. (so there is no isbn), create a subsection(s) for those publications. Note: old books, e.g., written in the 19th-century, wouldn't have an isbn, but that's irrelevant here.

I certainly haven't used AI myself but it is quite possible that whoever did the French language version did use AI. I do not have the books in question. I have never used AI for refs myself and this is the first time that I have tried to use refs borrowed from a different language version. In the past I have found my own refs. Dear Balance person. Let me start with this: I did a quick look at some of your earlier biographies, and find you to be a great writer. Thanks for what you do around here.

There's an easy fix for the Gaspard article. If you can't find the books yourself through a google search, remove the 4 problematic refs and remove the sentences associated with them (just 1 sentence/ref will do, unless you think removing more than 1 sentence/ref would be better). Ping me afterwards and I'll mark the article as reviewed.

As for the broader concern regarding referencing in other language Wikipedias ... I'm in the same boat. I translate from the CA-, ES-, and FR-WPs and find the referencing to be hit-or-miss. Commonly, I end up choosing an article to translate only because its refs meet EN-WP requirements ... not because the subject (e.g., woman's biography) is the one I'd like to be translating. This leads me to think about the content bias I'm introducing ... adding not the most deserving woman into EN-WP (which would then get picked up and used by AI), but instead, choosing a biography based on the fact that some French-language editor did a good job with sourcing. Oh well; it's still a gain.

Hi, I work for Swensons and oversee the marketing department. I went to publish a recent accolade the brand received by a national publication, but somehow when I went to submit, it deleted nearly 85% of the original wikipedia page information. Luckily, I had the page open on several tabs and was able to see the version I deleted and successfully copy it to a word doc to maintain the information. Hi, Ian Thank you for all your hard work and the huge amounts of time you put into The Eiffel Women Editathon this summer. The 72 names won't be on the Eiffel Tower quite yet (2027 has been suggested), but we have made sure that they are on wiki and looking good! The picture is a cartoon of Madame Saqui tightroping her way across Paris, connecting the C19th rebuilding of the city - which feels like a suitable image for connecting the 72 women across Wikipedia.

Hello Ipigott, I wonder whether you might be willing to give an independent opinion on a proposed substantial revision of an existing biography of a living person. I am Kas Oosterhuis, the subject of the existing Wikipedia article Kas Oosterhuis, so I have an obvious conflict of interest and do not want to replace or substantially edit the article myself. Over the past months I have prepared a revised version in my sandbox: User Oosterhuis/sandbox The intention has been to replace the rather outdated existing article with a more complete but neutral and independently sourced version. • Hello, Kas Oosterhuis, and thank you for contacting me. I should however point out that I am a strong supporter of Wikipedia's stance on autobiographies. In other words, I believe biographies written by those who have no strong relationships with the subject of the article generally provide a much more credible and objective account than those writing about themselves or close contacts. I also see that a number of editors have recently contributed to the article and that you have explained the changes you would like to see on the article's talk page. It therefore seems to me that any significant updates will be made sooner or later. Given your own qualifications, you might consider creating or improving articles about other architects or academics rather than just concentrating on your own biography. Thank you, @Ipigott for suggesting this article and thank you @Balance person for writing it! I'll make a few tweaks this week, but one that I'd like to point out is that the Norwegian and Swedish Wikipedias as well as sources in both countries that are written by the dominant culture love to say that someone has "a Sami background" or "Sami roots" instead of just saying they are Sami/Sámi/Saami. Wajstedt is Saami and even says so on her CV, which means her mother is too, so I'll be changing that. If anyone is up for reading Norwegian (or Northern Saami!), the National Library has some sources online. Most of the rest of them can be read there as well, but usually only if you have a Norwegian IP address (not sure if a VPN would work). Last, but not least: @Balance person, please add this article to the outcome list for this month's edit-a-thon; you've done great work and deserve to be recognized for it :) - Yupik (talk) 19:32, 31 August 2026 (UTC)

A couple of points: I'm not sure where she is currently based: Stockholm or Kiruna. I keep finding conflicting information about it. The second one: I'd say to separate any nominations and subsequent awards she has won out of the filmography section and put them in a separate section or into the career section, leaving the filmography to be a list of the films and the years they were released, similar to the one in Elle-Máijá_Tailfeathers#Filmography. Sure! If you would like to stay somewhat in the same genre, I would suggest Maj-Lis Skaltje. There are articles in Catalan, Inari Saami, and Swedish for her and all three have slightly different information which could be combined into a really good article for the English Wikipedia. Gunvor Guttorm deserves a better article on every Wikipedia; fortunately there is a lot of information about her online.

Three other people who I think should have articles on the English Wikipedia are Anna Näkkäläjärvi-Länsman, Sunna Kitti, and Heidi Gauriloff (sometimes as Heidi Juliana Gauriloff or Heidi U'lljan Gauriloff). Heidi Gauriloff has an article in Inari Saami, which is not likely understandable to either of you, but there is info about her in other languages online. Of course, the diskografia and filmografia sections should be understandable even without any knowledge of Inari Saami :) (Heads up: after Friday, I will be answering really slowly for about a month or two.) - Yupik (talk) 12:18, 1 September 2026 (UTC)

Hi there, LadyMinush, and thank you for contacting me on your draft of Froswa' Booker-Drew. I'm sorry to have to tell you that in its present state the draft would not be accepted on Wikipedia. The main problem is that the article relies heavily on information from sites with which she is closely attached. Furthermore, it is not clear from the article that she is sufficiently notable for inclusion. When creating the biography of a living person, you need to draw on information from at least three independent reliable sources (recognized newspapers, journals, awards write-ups, biographical dictionaries, etc.) which cover the subject in some detail. You also need to describe in the lead why she is considered notable. You can find additional guidance in our Ten Simple Rules. There does in fact appear to be some coverage of Froswa' Booker-Drew in a few reliable sources but I should point out that details revealed in interviews with her are not acceptable for establishing notability. I therefore suggest you make a start on a much shorter draft along the lines I have suggested. Let me know when you would like me to look at it. My apologies for bothering you so early into creating an account, but I found a page I believe to be significant with no sources. However, the French version is fairly complete, and has many sources. My questions are as follows; A: When using sources from the French article, is the inter-language link needed? Hello and thank you for your reply! I understand and acknowledge the risks associated with paid contributions and the impact they have on Wikipedia's reputation and factuality. For that reason I am ready to commit to all policies and follow any rules associated with paid contributions on Wikipedia. I have visited the most important articles on policies and rules, mainly the Wikipedia:Conflict of interest, Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure, Wikipedia:Articles for creation, and Wikimedia Foundation Terms of Use. My main concern is the finer details and the correct procedures:

• Are my contributions considered paid, if I don't receive compensation for my contributions separate from a standard wage agreed upon in my contract, and if contributing to Wikipedia is not mentioned in my job description or core responsibilities?
• Will I need to submit drafted contribution to Wikipedia:Articles for creation for review before they can be published officially?

Hey! When adding links between articles, do the links always need to be relevant to the article? Is it appropriate to have cyclical references, where two business names are, or were, part of the same legal company name, but there isn't an article of the legal name?
