Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited The Establishment, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Democratic Party. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ  Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Villa Comaltitlán railway station moved to draftspace

Thanks for your contributions to Villa Comaltitlán railway station. Unfortunately, it is not ready for publishing because it needs more sources to establish notability. Your article is now a draft where you can improve it undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Significa liberdade (talk) 01:05, 25 September 2023 (UTC)

I understand. I look forward to seeing the station pages, on English and Spanish Wikipedia, be developed. Until then, I admit that there's so little info about this station (I am not even sure if it is one of the ones that will be reopened!) that it was right for you to draftify it.
For now, thanks for moving that page!
Yours sincerely

re: Metra Stadler FLIRT Akku

Metra has not chosen a vendor for the New Battery Powered Trainsets due to the contract being locked out currently. This means that a vendor has not been chosen. While others have speculated that Stadler would be the most optimal choice for Metra to go with, it is not the finalized vendor. This is misleading information. 2601:245:4600:CC10:F9F2:8DB:9E0C:A4B7 (talk) 08:11, 8 December 2023 (UTC)

Edit summaries and redirects

Hi SleepTrain456, please remember to always use edit summaries. It is very important for other editors to understand what you are doing. Additionally, per WP:NOTBROKEN, please do not make edits like this that bypass redirects. In many cases, like this one, these redirects are intentional - in this case, East Boston Tunnel may eventually be an article rather than a redirect. Pi.1415926535 (talk) 04:30, 17 January 2024 (UTC)

Good points! After all, you would want to make sure you know what I am doing. Also, some of those topics might deserve a future article someday (such as the East Boston Tunnel, as you mentioned), if someone wants to make it.
Thanks for the advice!
Sincerely

Help fixing collapsible sections

Hi! I hope it's fine to ask for some assistance since you seem to have a knack for being able to fix route diagram templates, especially with collapsible sections, but yeah, I couldn't figure out the issues on Template:2 Line (Sound Transit) for the Northgate Link Extension at the top and Template:Millennium Line for the Broadway Subway Project at the top. Did the Holly Trolley ever operate the Convention Center–Diridon section? If so, then green (not grey) icons should be used; if not then the additional stations are unnecessary. Useddenim (talk) 04:59, 7 July 2024 (UTC)

Good question! According to this article from 2018, it operated all the way to Diridon. However, articles relating to the 2019 season (including one by the VTA itself) show that it only operated to the Convention Center.

Thank you for translating and creating articles on train lines in Mexico. I know that's tough work. Belgrano station moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, Belgrano station, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Valley Line West

Hi, thank you for your contributions. I note your recent edits concerning future Valley Line services.

In Edmonton, the transit centres are for bus service. In the case of an LRT station or stop which also has a transit centre:

  • The LRT stop or station gets its own standalone article
  • The transit centre gets a section within that article.

So, in this case, there would be new articles for Jasper Place stop, Meadowlark stop, West Edmonton Mall station, and Lewis Farms stop. The existing transit centre information would then be moved to a section within those articles. 162 etc. (talk) 17:05, 20 November 2024 (UTC)

I see. Thanks for the clarification!

Duplicate lines in adjacent stations

Hi SleepTrain456, thanks for adding former services to some stations. When adding former services, there's no need to duplicate existing services if only the stopping pattern has changed. The service itself is still the same. (For example, Andover station (MBTA) doesn't need to list the Haverhill Line with pre-1980 stations). Thanks, Pi.1415926535 (talk) 23:59, 2 January 2025 (UTC)

You're welcome, and thanks for the suggestions! - SleepTrain456 (talk) 00:12, 3 January 2025 (UTC)
Also, do make sure that the services and adjacent stations are correct for the period. For example, Reading Highlands was generally only served by Reading Highlands–Boston short turns; it was skipped by trains for Haverhill and north, and closed entirely in the 1950s. Wellington was only served by Medford Branch trains by the 1930s until its 1957 closure, and nothing longer than Reading Highlands trains and Salem branchline trains before that. If you're not sure about any, feel free to ask me.
We have a decent selection of timetables on Commons at commons:Category:Timetables of the Boston and Maine Railroad. I recommend the 1929 and 1946 timetables as representative examples of 20th-century B&M service. The B&M, like most railroads, had a wide variety of stopping patterns. We only need to reflect the major services/stopping patterns in adjacent stations; oddities like all-stops overnight mail trains don't need to be included. Pi.1415926535 (talk) 23:06, 3 January 2025 (UTC)
Thanks, Pi! I'll use that for the future. SleepTrain456 (talk) 00:30, 4 January 2025 (UTC)

Help with route diagram template

Hi! I need help with another route diagram template. I flipped the orientation of Template:Confederation Line to west to east since that appears to be the general convention used for route diagram templates, but in doing so, I just cannot get the collapsible sections, specifically the top one to line up the way they did prior to it. I did manage to get the bottom one to line up after some tinkering, but if this one could also be improved in some way, that would also be appreciated. Thank you!

P.S. Here's how the template looked prior to me flipping it. OrdinaryScarlett (talk) 03:41, 12 January 2025 (UTC)

I can do this easily. Thanks for asking me, OrdinaryScarlett! I am glad I can help! - SleepTrain456 (talk) 21:48, 12 January 2025 (UTC)
Thanks for your help! I really apologize for having to make you come back and having to refix things over and over again after I add more changes; I tend to be the type of editor who changes their mind as they go. I probably should've came to ask you after I was absolutely certain I was happy with the level of detail in the template, hopefully you can bear with that. I'm very happy with the way it turned out! OrdinaryScarlett (talk) 06:27, 14 January 2025 (UTC)
P.S. An old one I worked on a while back was Template:Paris Métro lines 16 and 17, which I also couldn't get to work. Maybe if you'd be interested in checking out that one too? OrdinaryScarlett (talk) 08:30, 14 January 2025 (UTC)
You're welcome! Glad I can help! I'll give this template a go.
Thanks!- SleepTrain456 (talk) 20:47, 14 January 2025 (UTC)

Please stop

Please stop adding "next station" templates to articles about communities. The next station template is for articles about train lines. If you are confused whether the article is about a train line or a community, please leave a note on the article talk page. Thank you for your understanding. Magnolia677 (talk) 23:32, 11 February 2025 (UTC)

Okay. I'll stop adding those until a discussion on the talk pages can determine whether or not to do it.
Also, I've got an idea on how to make the "Adjacent stations" modules less intrusive: have it be hidden by Template:Collapsible list, like so:
Services at Usk station
  • More information Current services, Preceding station ...
    Current services
Preceding station Via Rail Following station
    Terrace Jasper–Prince Rupert Pacific
    toward Jasper
Preceding station Canadian National Railway Following station
    Former services
    Kitselas Prince RupertJasper Pitman
    toward Jasper
    Close

Thanks for the message!

Portland Vintage Trolley diagram error

I appreciate your effort to create these line diagrams for the former Portland Vintage Trolley service – I am stopping short of 'thanking' you, because line diagrams are not maps and in my opinion are mainly only useful mainly for intercity rail lines, not urban transit (and are very overused on WP, in my opinion), since they are not to scale and do not show turns or any geographic orientation the way a true map does – but I need to point out that the diagram for the Vintage Trolley routing on the Portland Streetcar line is erred at the southern end. The service did not turn around at 10th & Market. (The TriMet page you cited only says vaguely that the service went to PSU.) It turned around by having the cars reverse on Montgomery Street – the operator moving from one end of the car to the other, and likewise lowering the current collector/pantograph at the car's west end and raising the current collector at the east end – the same thing that the modern streetcars did at that time, and until March 2005, when Portland Streetcar service was extended to RiverPlace. During the years when VT ran on PS, the tracks dead-ended on Montgomery Street between 4th and 5th, but in the process of writing this note to you, I discovered that the relevant WP articles (on PS, the NS Line, and Vintage Trolley) had failed to ever describe the exact location and configuration of the 2001–2005 southern terminus of the Portland Streetcar line, so I can understand how you could have reached the wrong conclusion about where, in the PSU area, the VT cars turned around.

I have now corrected that long-standing omission from all three articles (in the PS and NS Line articles it is in the "History" sections). FYI, here is a direct link] to the map that was contained within the October 2001 magazine article that has long been cited in the Portland Streetcar article for several details of the system's early history.

Personally, I'd much rather seen an actual map of these routes than line diagrams, but I don't have any mapping software, let alone the knowledge of how to use it. If you do, it would be great if you could make scale maps for the three VT routes (either separately or a single map for all, using different colors for the three different routes/periods). But I imagine you made the line diagrams by starting with the existing line diagrams for the MAX and PS lines, which presumably would have been much easier than creating whole new (actual) maps.

Also, here is another (more minor) error in the VT-on-PS ("secondary route") diagram: The three stops (aka "stations" but they aren't really) on NW 10th and 11th that were closed in 2016 should be added to this map, as they all existed when VT was running on PS, and your diagram only covers that period. Data can be found at a 2017 archived version of the NS Line map; they are annotated there as "closed 2016", but that text and coloring can be modified to treat them the same as all other stations on this VT map.

There are also a few errors on your 1991–2009 Vintage Trolley map:

  • The 4th/Mall and 5th/Mall stops need to be added, since they didn't close until years after VT service ended (and they do have articles).
  • All references to the A and B loop lines, and to tracks on Grand and 7th, should be removed, as they did not exist until 2012, whereas this map's end date is 2009, when the VT service stopped serving Holladay Street.

SJ Morg (talk) 10:08, 14 April 2025 (UTC)

I see. Thanks for the suggestions! I'll add these. SleepTrain456 (talk) 22:41, 14 April 2025 (UTC)
Thanks. That was a very fast response! I made a few more changes to try to fix things were still not quite right on the 2001-2005 VT-on-PS diagram, but I have zero experience editing these rail-line diagrams, so I hope it got it right. I used the NS Line diagram as a guide for the tracks coming together (on Montgomery Street) south of the 5th & Montgomery stop. SJ Morg (talk) 10:00, 15 April 2025 (UTC)
You're welcome. Also, because of your edits, now, I know there was a non-passenger stop on 4th and Montgomery.
Thanks for making those changes! SleepTrain456 (talk) 20:37, 15 April 2025 (UTC)
Yes, 4th and Montgomery was where the track dead-ended until 2005 and operators (of both modern streetcars and Vintage Trolleys) had to reverse directions by walking from one end of the car to the other. But passengers could not get on or off there (and normally were not allowed to stay on board past 5th & Montgomery). SJ Morg (talk) 06:34, 16 April 2025 (UTC)
I see. Thanks for the comment! SleepTrain456 (talk) 21:00, 16 April 2025 (UTC)

Laurelton LIRR station former routes

Since when did Laurelton (LIRR station) have a former train route going to the Garden City-Mitchel Field Secondary? And why just this station out of every other in this long route around to the former Central Branch of the Long Island Rail Road? ---------User:DanTD (talk) 16:27, 1 September 2025 (UTC)

Electrische Museumtramlijn Amsterdam

Hello SleepTrain456, a month ago you produced this article about Electrische Museumtramlijn Amsterdam and at the bottom it says it is a translation of the original Dutch article. When reading the English version, I stumble over so many language errors that I cannot understand how this article could ever be made as is. My guess is that even Google Translate would have done a better job than what you have published. As I understand from your profile, you're a native English speaker, so I may assume you can also see those errors.

In general it's good practice that prior to publication of any text (be it written by oneself, or be it a translation), one reads a text from A to Z, preferably out loud, to see if everything is correct.

So may I ask you to check the article and correct the sentences that miss words, that do no flow, that simply mean nothing, etc. etc.? After you've done so, I don't mind going through the article as well, to check if the translation actually reflects what was written in the original (because without knowledge of the original language, one cannot verify that easily).

Best regards,   Erremm   17:30, 8 October 2025 (UTC)

Good points. I simply used Google Translate for this, since I don't know that much Dutch.
Thanks for the advice!

Sorry about that! User:Pi.1415926535 set me straight... In the future, just be sure to add an EDITSUMMARY? It was technically "unexplained content removal". I now understand why you removed it, but your edit did not include any explanation for why you commented out that bit of code. Moving forward just be sure to include a quick summary. Rocky Mountaineer

Hi, thank you for your contributions. I note your recent reverts of edits I've made to former Rocky Mountaineer stations.

Per https://www.rockymountaineer.com/preparing-to-go/train-schedule, these are the current stations:

Kamloops: Kamloops train siding, 525 CN Road (not Kamloops station)

North Vancouver: North Vancouver train siding, Philip Ave. and W 1st St. (not North Vancouver station)

Banff: Banff train siding, 98 Mount Norquay Road (not Banff station)

Do you know of reliable sources that say otherwise? 162 etc. (talk) 20:40, 30 March 2026 (UTC)

Now that you mention it, I should add the new addresses to the articles.
Thanks for clarifying!
- SleepTrain456 21:21, 30 March 2026 (UTC)
No, that's not the answer. These are not stations. They are literal dots on a map where the train stops. These locations in no way meet WP:SIGCOV. 162 etc. (talk) 21:23, 30 March 2026 (UTC)
Indeed, they are not notable enough to be standalone articles. Thus, I am mentioning them in the same articles as the stations they replaced. Also, removing the infoboxes also takes out the info about the original stations, which are undoubtedly notable.
Thanks anyways!
- SleepTrain456 21:36, 30 March 2026 (UTC)
Such information could be added to Rocky Mountaineer. The information, however, is unrelated to Kamloops station, North Vancouver station, and Banff station.
I'll also note that based on the thin sourcing at North Vancouver station, it's unclear if Rocky Mountaineer actually ever served the former PGE station at Lonsdale Quay. Unless you can point me towards some secondary source coverage regarding that, a major rewrite is in order. 162 etc. (talk) 21:56, 30 March 2026 (UTC)
Excellent points. In fact, the PGE station is now The Polygon Gallery, and I've rewritten the infobox at North Vancouver station to clarify that Rocky Mountaineer's station was not the same as that one. SleepTrain456 21:59, 30 March 2026 (UTC)
Rocky Mountaineer has never used North Vancouver station. Therefore the article should not use a Rocky Mountaineer infobox, and in fact should make no mention of Rocky Mountaineer at all.
The North Vancouver train siding can be mentioned at Rocky Mountaineer; it does not have any real notability to sustain its own article. 162 etc. (talk) 22:08, 30 March 2026 (UTC)
I've done a rewrite of North Vancouver station to refocus it solely on the PGE station which was at Lonsdale Quay. Any information about Rocky Mountaineer can be re-added if:
1.) It actually pertains to this location, not the unrelated train siding
2.) Is cited to a reliable secondary source.
Thank you for your continued contributions. 162 etc. (talk) 23:04, 30 March 2026 (UTC)
You're welcome! In fact, I think I'll draft a page about the Rocky Mountaineer station + siding. SleepTrain456 00:26, 31 March 2026 (UTC)
