Gatoclass and I arrived at similar concerns independently at WT:DYK about sourcing support for saying he "helped them win" (even indirectly); I think another hook will be needed. Fwiw (as a not particularly sports knowledgable person) I think it's interesting in and of itself for a high-level athlete to become a physician after their sporting career.
