Update
Could anyone add an updates area where we can see new Pokemon news, such as the new level cap being level 80, etc? 2600:1016:A012:920D:9034:DD84:413A:DD87 (talk) 18:56, 1 September 2025 (UTC)
- My read is that this would go against WP:NOTNEWS. Large updates can of course be notable in their own right, but it seems to me that you are interested in a version history. — xo Ergur (talk) 15:44, 2 January 2026 (UTC)
Proposed Edit: Add Laura Warner to list of game designers
Hello editors,
I’d like to propose adding Laura Warner to the list of Pokémon GO Designers in the infobox.
Warner is credited as a designer on Pokémon GO in the following reliable, independent sources:
- Game Developer: “How I Pokémon GO — I Evolved in Response to the COVID-19 Pandemic” – An article published by Game Developer, a well-established industry outlet, written by Laura Warner and describing her design contributions to Pokémon GO.
- GDC 2021 Talk: “How Pokémon GO Evolved in Response to the COVID-19 Pandemic” (YouTube) – Official presentation hosted by the Game Developers Conference, in which Warner is introduced as a Pokémon GO game designer at Niantic.
These sources confirm her role as a designer on Pokémon GO, comparable to other designers, like Mathew Ein, currently listed in the article.
For additional context (not for inclusion in the article text), Warner was the main designer behind several features already documented on this page, including Snapshot and Remote Raid Battles. This helps establish that her credited design work had direct impact on notable elements of the game’s evolution.
I am familiar with the individual in question and therefore prefer not to make the edit directly, but I believe this addition would improve the article’s accuracy and completeness. I appreciate any review or feedback from independent editors. GlintedGamer (talk) 22:02, 4 November 2025 (UTC)
Scopely
@SarekOfVulcan, the listed developer means nothing on the app stores as the press releases state Scopely acquired the Niantic employees. Niantic's gaming efforts were moved to Niantic Spatial after the Scopely purchase. I doubt anything on the app will state Scopely until a year after the acquisition. – The Grid (talk) 16:20, 27 February 2026 (UTC)
- You can say that Scopely cut a deal to buy Niantic, but as long as the app says "Niantic" and the app store says "Niantic", that's the publisher. Just like a book published by a company that's owned by other one. SarekOfVulcan (talk) 21:20, 27 February 2026 (UTC)
Revert
I reverted to the version of 15th February 2026, because someone had pointlessly changed the case of the section headings. I think that two subsequent edits were good changes and I apologise that I don't have time to sift through and work out what changed. Hope the editors concerned don't mind restoring what they did.
