Autopatrolled granted

Hi BhamBoi, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the autopatrolled user right to your account. This means that pages you create will automatically be marked as 'reviewed', and no longer appear in the new pages feed. Autopatrolled is assigned to prolific creators of articles, where those articles do not require further review, and may have been requested on your behalf by someone else. It doesn't affect how you edit; it is used only to manage the workload of new page patrollers.
Since the articles you create will no longer be systematically reviewed by other editors, it is important that you maintain the high standard you have achieved so far in all your future creations. Please also try to remember to add relevant WikiProject templates, stub tags, categories, and incoming links to them, if you aren't already in the habit; user scripts such as Rater and StubSorter can help with this. As you have already shown that you have a strong grasp of Wikipedia's core content policies, you might also consider volunteering to become a new page patroller yourself, helping to uphold the project's standards and encourage other good faith article writers.
Feel free to leave me a message if you have any questions. Happy editing! Schwede66 05:57, 22 February 2024 (UTC)
IP block exempt
I have granted your account an exemption from IP blocking for a period of 1 year. If you still need an IP block exemption after it expires please file a new request. This will allow you to edit the English Wikipedia through full blocks affecting your IP address when you are logged in.
Please read the page Wikipedia:IP block exemption carefully, especially the section on IP block exemption conditions. Inappropriate usage of this user right may result in revocation. I hope this will enhance your editing, and allow you to edit successfully and without disruption. DatGuyTalkContribs 15:47, 28 February 2024 (UTC)

Ages_of_consent_in_the_United_States in Washington may be out of date
Hi, I noticed that you added some details the age of consent article back in August. The link provided as to the decriminalization of sexual acts that fall within the Romeo and Juliet laws is broken (https://doh.wa.gov/you-and-your-family/sexual-and-reproductive-health/state-laws). It is possible that these guidelines were retracted from the public view? Subanark (talk) 01:40, 8 May 2024 (UTC)
- Hi, and thanks for reaching out! The ages are laid out in state law under
Chapter 9A.44 RCW. The URL I cited and that is linked above is available from the Wayback Machine (I recommend always checking this if a URL has been taken down) - See the archived version here: https://web.archive.org/web/20220416180123/https://doh.wa.gov/you-and-your-family/sexual-and-reproductive-health/state-laws BhamBoi (talk) 04:17, 8 May 2024 (UTC)
- What I am concerned about is if the statement "Washington State will not prosecute [people] based on age if [they] have sex with:" is listed anywhere else? As otherwise, that statement would no longer be public policy? The laws linked only reduce the severity of the offence, not making it "will not prosecute". Subanark (talk) 10:22, 8 May 2024 (UTC)
- I'm not a legislator, I just cited the way the Department of Health interpreted the law. If you think that their webpage being dead makes their point moot, you can take out the section of the article. But you can see what the DOH said at least at some point in time, and any changes to the law itself would be public info, so feel free to check if the actual code has changed since the DOH published their info. BhamBoi (talk) 14:45, 8 May 2024 (UTC)
- I'd suggest you add a {{dubious}} tag to the section and then start a discussion on the talk page. BhamBoi (talk) 14:54, 8 May 2024 (UTC)

page edit " M. Zahid Hasan "
Hi, I am subject of your recent edit "M. Zahid Hasan". My official name is not how you spelled it so firstname is incorrect in the your version. Also I am not a Bangladeshi citizen (where did you get that info I wonder, seems like your speculation). Speculations should be avoided.
Thank you M. Zahid Hasan 128.112.84.152 (talk) 18:58, 23 October 2024 (UTC)
- Hi there, thanks for reaching out! Regarding the spelling of your name, it's stated in The Daily Star, which states: "Mohammad Zahid Hasan (Taposh) is the eldest of the three children of Mr. Mohammad Rahman Ali and Mrs. Nadira Ali Talukdar. Zahid's mother encouraged him to study science" (Link). I referred to your nationality as Bangladeshi because The Daily Star and the Dhaka Tribune refer to you as a "Bangladeshi scientist" (Link, Link, Link).
- You may want to read the Wikipedia essay: Verifiability, not truth.
- If you would like to correct this information, one option available to you is to publish a statement that is clearly attributable to you and publicly accessible. This could be on your faculty webpage, on an ORCID identifier, etc., but if there is a statement from you that states your correct name and nationality, we can cite it in the article. All claims made by you, about you, must not be "exceptional" claims.

Don't use redirects in navigational templates
In this edit to Template:Science (which I just reverted), you replaced two link targets with redirects, and you cited the guideline MOS:REDIR. That guideline is talking about links in articles. However, for navigational templates (navboxes), there is a different guideline, WP:NAVNOREDIRECT, because, as that guideline says, When a template is placed on an article and contains a direct link to the same article (rather than a redirect), the direct link will display in bold (and not as a link), making it easier to navigate through a series of articles using the template.
In the future, please keep this in mind and do not change direct links to redirects in navboxes. Thanks, Biogeographist (talk) 20:54, 30 January 2025 (UTC)

- @Notcharizard, Hiya, I'm not actually a "new editor" as I am an autopatrolled user and could have moved this article to mainspace myself, lol... But as I don't have previous experience publishing articles that fall under WP:NJOURNAL, I chose to submit it through AfD. I was actually 99% sure that the topic is notable per my reading of NJOURNAL, but I chose to make sure it got another set of eyes on it. Apparently, you disagree with my thoughts that this journal is notable.
- Under NJOURNAL, Research in Globalization's indexing in Scopus should be an automatic pass of criterion 2. I'm trying to avoid an "other stuff exists" argument here, but I went back in the archives of WP:DAJ and found multiple examples of journals passing AfD because they pass this criterion, even if they are lacking in independent sourcing. See, for example, here and here.
- I know that NJOURNAL is just an essay and not a guideline or policy, but it seems to be frequently cited in deletion discussions, as I mentioned above. Am I missing some other reason you didn't push this article to mainspace? Sorry if this comes across as a disagreement with your choice to not accept the submission; I only hope to hear your perspective and work to a place where this article can be up to both of our standards for inclusion. BhamBoi (talk) 21:59, 8 December 2025 (UTC)
- I declined the article because there were not enough third party references used (WP:JOURNALCRIT: “It is possible for a journal to qualify for a stand-alone article according to this standard and yet not actually be an appropriate topic for coverage in Wikipedia because of a lack of reliable, independent sources on the subject.”
- I am confused as to why you would submit through AfC if you are this confident that the article should be published, and only intended to defend the article if it was declined. As you said, you can publish it yourself. -- NotCharizard 🗨 01:40, 9 December 2025 (UTC)
- I hadn't seen that quote before because I was focusing on the criteria remarks, so thank you for sharing. I agree with your assessment that there are not enough independent sources referenced in the article as it stands.
- The reason I didn't move it myself was because I did have underlying doubts about its suitability for mainspace, hence why we're having this conversation at all. I won't move it to main in its current state just because of the consensus established here, but if I find more independent sources to cite, I will add them and move the article myself.
- Thanks for your input. BhamBoi (talk) 04:44, 9 December 2025 (UTC)
