List of Miss World Countries moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, List of Miss World Countries, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Speedy deletion nomination of List of Miss World countries

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on List of Miss World countries requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, such as at Articles for deletion. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Replaceable fair use File:Picture of Marjorie Wallace as Miss World 1973.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Picture of Marjorie Wallace as Miss World 1973.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{Di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Whpq (talk) 17:21, 11 September 2019 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image File:Picture of Marjorie Wallace as Miss World 1973.jpg

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Picture of Marjorie Wallace as Miss World 1973.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 17:38, 12 September 2019 (UTC)

Your submission at Articles for creation: Miss Supranational (June 29)

Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed! Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by Gene93k was:
This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of organizations and companies). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.
The comment the reviewer left was:
Miss Supranational is permanently WP:SALTed against creation in article space, after being deleted multiple time. Please take it to the protecting admin or take the original AfD delete consensus to deletion review. As for the draft, the substance of the content about the organization is based on primary sources, if sourced at all. Coverage about who won what is routine in nature and lacking in depth.
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit when they have been resolved.

Information icon Hello, I'm Donald Albury. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Miss Bahamas 2018, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Donald Albury 15:18, 16 November 2021 (UTC)

  • @Donald Albury: I changed it because there website linked on the page was for the wrong Miss Bahamas pageant. This pageant is Miss Bahamas Universe but the website linked to the Miss Bahamas Organization site which operates Miss Bahamas World. The website for Miss Bahamas Universe calls their pageant Miss Bahamas Universe. IZ041 (talk) 23:31, 16 November 2021 (UTC)

Invitation to contribute here

Hello,

I see that you have interacted with Magnolia677 before. I am just trying to add birth and death date information to names on "Notable people" lists across the encyclopedia, and they continue to revert my work, and worse, have now claimed that it is "disruptive" editing. I would like to invite you to comment here, if you have the time and have an opinion towards building consensus on this matter. Th78blue (They/Them/Their • talk) 19:56, 19 November 2021 (UTC)

Your submission at Articles for creation: Miss Grand Korea (July 4)

Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed! Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by Robert McClenon was:
This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject. Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.
The comment the reviewer left was:
See Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Miss Grand Korea. Although this draft is different from the deleted article, the topic has been found not to be notable, and this draft does not contain information that would overcome that presumption.
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit after they have been resolved.

Problems

Hi, thanks for your work, IZ. Please note that country-names are not linked unless there's a very good reason to do so. Flags are discouraged when they dominate the visual field, as they did here; they don't help reader comprehension. En dashes, not hyphens, are required as interrupters. I've restored the mdy date format that was used at the creation of this page. Please see our style guides.

If you'd like to contest such issues, please do it at the article talk page.

My best. Tony (talk) 23:12, 25 October 2022 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Miss World Spain 2017

Notice

The article Miss World Spain 2017 has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Zero independent reliable sources, presumed non-notable. Global Beauties has been determined by consensus to be unreliable due to lack of reputation for fact-checking and accuracy, self-promotion, personal financial benefit; eyeforbeautyblog.com is obviously WP:SPS; and the pageant site is non independent. Proposed deletion as WP:What Wikipedia is not.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ☆ Bri (talk) 00:24, 22 February 2023 (UTC)

While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. Real Housewives abbreviations

I noticed an "RHODN" abbreviation in The Real Housewives of Napoli article a couple of days ago, and it didn't make sense to me (if the "O" is "of", then where does the "D" come from?). The abbreviation was unsourced and I couldn't find it used anywhere outside of Wikipedia, so I removed it. I notice that you then quickly restored it, without explaining why. Your edit said the title was "often abbreviated" that way, but I found no evidence of that and you didn't provide any evidence, so I removed it again. You also appear to be introducing similar unsourced abbreviations in other articles and creating other redirects like those. For example, you created a new RHODRRHODR redirect today for The Real Housewives of Rome, again without explaining why. It appears that the RHODN abbreviation was originally introduced by a now-indef-blocked user OCDD. Are you the same person? Do you have a reliable source to cite for this abbreviation usage? Wikipedia should not be creating new abbreviations that are not supported by usage in independent reliable sources. — BarrelProof (talk) 19:31, 26 November 2025 (UTC)

Regarding the RHODN and RHODR abbreviations. I was looking at the The Real Housewives article for the entire franchise and noticed that the abbreviations were used for the two articles in question were listed as their abbreviations (without a source albeit, but still listed nonetheless) and created redirects to the page in question based on the abbrevations that were listed. The D stands for the Italian word "di" which in English translates to the word "of". Looking back on it now it doesn't make sense why the user in question would introduce them as they were because the two "of"s in the abbreviation (first one in English as "O" and the second one in Italian as "D"). I don't know who this other user is and I was editing before they started contributing. I did look at the User's contribution page and the block being referenced by you is a block on moving pages and files on Wikipedia due to not listening to repeated againsts moves and more specifically moves against established consensus. They also have been uploading files to Wikipedia, which I haven't done in a while (as far as I know) and I tend to limit my use of the move function, unless I am for certain that the move won't be controversial. For example, instead moving the page The Real Housewives of Napoli to The Real Housewives of Naples, I opened up a discussion on the talk page of that article to establish consensus on Wikipedia, as I knew not everyone would agree with proposed move. IZ041 (talk) 20:20, 26 November 2025 (UTC)
Thank you for the explanation. — BarrelProof (talk) 21:54, 26 November 2025 (UTC)

Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by MelbourneIdentity was:
This submission does not appear to be written in the formal tone expected of an encyclopedia article. Entries should be written from a neutral point of view, and should refer to a range of independent, reliable, published sources. Please rewrite your submission in a more encyclopedic format. Please make sure to avoid peacock terms that promote the subject.

Unattributed translations

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you translated text from fr:TF1+ to TF1+. While you are welcome to translate Wikipedia content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing requires that you provide attribution to the contributor(s) of the original article. When translating from a foreign-language Wikipedia article, this is supplied at a minimum in an edit summary on the page where you add translated content, identifying it as a translation and linking it to the source page. Sample wording for this is given here. If you forgot, or were not aware of this requirement, attribution must be given retroactively, for example:

NOTE: Content in the edit of 01:25, January 25, 2023 was translated from the existing French Wikipedia article at [[:fr:Exact name of French article]]; see its history for attribution.

Retroactive attribution may be added using a dummy edit; see Repairing insufficient attribution. It is good practice, especially if translation is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{translated page}} template on the talk page of the destination article. If you have added translated content previously which was not attributed at the time it was added, you must add attribution retrospectively, even if it was a long time ago. You can read more about author attribution and the reasons for it at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. JTtheOG (talk) 20:40, 3 January 2026 (UTC)

@JTtheOG: Thank you for the heads up. I had already included the {{translated page}} template in the talk page of TF1+, but I overlooked the attribution in the edit summary part. I did notice that you did add the attribution to the page in question so that doesn't need my attention. I'll make sure to add it in the future. Thanks again.
