Hey, reviewing this! I review by making a list of issues I see as I read through the article rather than using a template; I'll fix minor grammar issues myself.

  • "production commenced in early 2022 after Super Smash Bros. Ultimate (2018) concluded development" - confusing; 2022 is literally after 2018, but otherwise doesn't show a strong connection between the games
 Done
  • Infobox- the guideline is to put the "lead" people in each role, with a limit of 3. Five designers is too much.
 Done Removed two names.
  • "The Air Ride, City Trial, and Top Ride modes from Air Ride return, all of which are expanded in both size and depth, and feature both online and local multiplayer." I know that you're trying to lean on Kirby Air Ride#Gameplay here to limit the length, but this isn't a sequel and Kirby Air Ride is from 2003, so the vast majority of readers will have never seen or played it. I think you need at least a sentence saying what these modes are, if not the paragraphs given to them in Kirby Air Ride.
  • In general, paragraphs should be 4-7 sentences long; this can be stretched with short/long sentences, but longer than that it becomes hard to parse. The second paragraph of Gameplay is 18 sentences. It's a massive block of text. It needs to be cut in half, if not thirds. Same for the first paragraph of Release, and the two massive blocks of text in Critical reception.
  • "perform drift maneuvers with the B button" - as a rule, specific inputs should not be mentioned as this is not a gameplay guide
  • Listing out 21 special abilities would be too much, but can you give examples of what they are?
  • Overall the gameplay section is just... too finely detailed. That's not something that would block it from GA, but more something to think about for future articles- this just isn't that complicated a game to need this many words to describe even after leaning on another article to actually say what the gameplay modes are. You could get the point across in 2/3 the words, but especially in that giant paragraph you get into fine details that are true but overwhelming in aggregate to the reader. I would encourage, as an exercise, that you maybe think about if you had to write even just the information in that paragraph in half the size, what would that look like? What would you keep and what would you exclude? Your answer would be different than mine, but it's something to think about.
  • The reception section, partially because of the large block paragraphs, is overwhelming to read. It's 6-8 different opinions on every element, each with their own sentence/clause. This is also not a GA-level concern, but it would read much better with similar thoughts merged together in more of a "Outlet A and B both said that the controls were foo, and C added on that they were bar" style.
  • For the non-English references, consider adding an English translation with |trans-title
  • No issues found in spotchecks

Honestly, I have very little here in terms of GA criteria, which is why the comments stall out for the second half of the article. It's solid, solidly written, and very deep. Other than the paragraph thing, I mostly just think that gameplay is both too long in regards to small details while also not giving enough context for how the game modes and abilities work. I do think that the article is overall too wordy, but that's a style concern, not a GA concern, and I'm sure there are people that think I'm not wordy enough in my articles. Placing on hold. --PresN 16:07, 6 May 2026 (UTC)

@Z-Gamer Guys: Hi, just checking in on this; I see you haven't edited in a month. --PresN 20:17, 22 May 2026 (UTC)
Apologies for the late response. I have indeed been busy and not very active for about a month or so, to the point where I wasn't really able to respond to any comments, really. Now that I'm back, I'll be able to look this over and get some revisions done soon. Thanks for checking in. - Z-Gamer Guys (talk) 22:39, 23 May 2026 (UTC)
  • @Z-Gamer Guys and PresN:: Just ping this review to get an update for it as it has been over a week since last contact. To help with things along, I have managed to address the first to critiques on the list. Have a great day, CaptainGalaxy 18:15, 4 June 2026 (UTC)
  • @Captain Galaxy: The nominator, @Z-Gamer Guys:, has not edited Wikipedia since May 23. Are you interested in adopting this nomination if Z-Gamer doesn't return? Z1720 (talk) 02:00, 15 June 2026 (UTC)
I think I would be interested, though I will still wait a few more days to start. That way it can give me time to address the concerns of the review. CaptainGalaxy 02:19, 15 June 2026 (UTC)
@PresN: Apologies again. I will be able to complete this review, just got a bit busier than I expected to be is all. - Z-Gamer Guys (talk) 15:23, 20 June 2026 (UTC)

@Captain Galaxy: At this point I'm ready to close this review as inactive; it's been open for 2 months with no work done by the nominator. If you want to pick it up let me know, otherwise I'm going to fail it. --PresN 14:05, 8 July 2026 (UTC)

Or if you want me to close it and you re-nominate, that's fine too. --PresN 14:06, 8 July 2026 (UTC)
I think it might just be best to fail this as of now. I was at one point ready to take this over but after look through it I think if I were to do this would honestly overhaul certain sections which I don't have the time for at the moment. I would like to thank you at least for offering the opportunity for this article at the very least. CaptainGalaxy 17:34, 8 July 2026 (UTC)
Ok, closing, feel free to ping me if you ever decide to pick it up. --PresN 18:02, 8 July 2026 (UTC)
